During the end of HS and the beginning of college, I was a customer service person (and night manager which means working Saturday nights) at a grocery store and inspite of my impatience with the lazy cashiers and the long evening hours, it wasn't that bad a job.

I had that after oral surgery (wisdom teeth) a couple years back and I warn anyone to not take those. I still had pain, but I was so doped by them I couldn't sleep - a part of the reason my bf turned the doc down when he offered to write a script after he broke his hand. If I ever need pain killers again, I plan on asking for tylenol w/ codiene (sp?).

Believe it or not, most of the crashes truck drivers are involved in are not the fault of the truck driver. While "cowboys" are a problem, especially when they're operating an 80,000 lb. bullet, the real problem starts at the Secretary of State where it is entirely too easy for citizens..... as a whole..... to get a drivers license. Spending several hours a day in traffic on 294 and 290, it seems that there are tons of truckers and drivers who shouldn't have licenses. I cringe every time I see a compact car cut off an 18 wheeler (or when I see an 18 wheeler cut off an 18 wheeler for that matter!).

Didn't think you were. I just hate not being able to do anything for her other than listen. She and I never had much of a sister-sister relationship before we both moved out of my parents' house and now that we do have a really good sister-sister relationship, I don't want some worthless S.O.B. trying to ruin it and more importantly, I don't want to see him ruin her or my nephew's life.

I never bring up stuff about him, she volenteers it as soon as we start talking (phone or in person). I don't degrade him at all, she does a good enough job of that on her own. She fully realizes that at this time she is stuck because of financial reasons (I've already helped as much as I can financially). I snapped the other night (inside my head, not verbally - I got out of there before I suffered from loose lips) because I don't like him trashing my sister to me. I've seen her with the baby, I know she is a good mom. Actually she doesn't love him, or so she says (I always let her bring it up). She's been planning on leaving but first the baby came a month early (2 days after we started packing her stuff up) and now it is just a matter of saving up money to leave (she said she is planning around tax time when she knows she will get money back - she claims 0 + extra taken out - she knows she is terrible about saving money so she chooses this method).

But of course. If you can't be there for family, who can you be there for?

My bf's sister was telling me that you had to pay $1000 for the seat in addition to the price of the season tickets. If that is true, that is beyond disgusting. How they have so many season ticket holders every year is beyond me. Oh yeah, how in Creation does John Shoop still have a job?!

I agree - there is no way I'd say anything to him at all (it isn't my place). I just want to be able to visit with my nephew without 'dad' swarming around taking him away immediately and treating me as if I were completely and totally inept. I guess that is the hard part - knowing that I will have to grin and bear it until she leaves him or corrals him, one or the other.

In my opinion, from what I have seen and read about Torre, it would be like having Manuel all over again.

For the other 4 years PK was with the team his numbers were good, did he deserve that contract? No way in hell. I believe he will be back to the .300 mark with his career average power numbers (or better) next year as those things going on in the background (stuff stated here - the house thing (my house is being rebuilt at this time so I can tell you it is intensely stressful), the engagement thing (I have never known a man to get engaged and not freak out about it in some way, shape or form). Sorry, but I have a hard time believing 4 years is a fluke and this past season is the truth. Before someone mentions about being tossed between two teams prior to getting here, neither team needed a firstbaseman (the dodgers had Karros and the Reds had Casey) and if I understood some articles I've read, the Reds picked up with the intentions of using him in a trade. Be that as it may, I wouldn't mind seeing PK in Dodger Blue as long as we hold onto Daubach (although, it seems he may not be interested in returning).

My sister had a baby about 2 months ago and since then her bf has been treating her like crap and acts like an ass anytime anyone (family or friend) wants to see or hold the baby. He whines and cries that he can't take care of the baby at night, so my sister arranges for me to come over while she is at work (because the babysitter's mother took a turn for the worse and can't watch him at this time) and he calls my mom telling her I almost broke his neck - I don't have kids, but I have taken care of babies and my nephew before, I know how to support a baby's neck. He whines that she is 'playing' at her job - if he would get off his worthless ass and get a job that pays more than $6 an hr, maybe she wouldn't have had to go back so soon and at full-time. He's also claiming that she doesn't take care of the baby and that she doesn't want him. She is the one who has been taking care of the baby (including many doctor's visits due to a stomach condition the baby has), she makes sure he has his medicine - her bf never remembers and yesterday when the baby was getting really fussy I asked if he got his medicine and he said, he forgot and that my sister was the last one to give it to the baby. My problem is that the only time I can visit with the baby and not have her bf take him away or get nasty is if she is there. He whines that she should get a babysitter that he can't watch him all the time - why can't he get the babysitter? Actually my sister did, and when the sitter's mom got sick, the bf's mom volenteered to care for the baby, but she is out of town this week so she arranged for myself, my mom and a family friend. He hears this and then whines that those people aren't good enough. To my question: How would you deal with your younger sister going through this and the bf trying to interfere with you visiting your nephew?

I just hope the next manager picks someone capable, not a friend who needs a gig.

I am not sure liberal/conservative have anything to do with. I think it is either a nice check deposited to his account or his need for attention. Like I said,I understand the first part of it, but the 1st Amendment part throws me for a loop.

I flip between my 6 presets whenever scrubbie stuff is on, and if I can't get away, it's CD time for me as well!

I use caller ID and my answer machine. I am hoping that since my phone will be disconnected for over a month due to additions and remodeling being done to myu house that they will remove the number thinking it is a dead or no longer used number. If not, my caller ID and answering machine will be fired up, ready to go. I can understand about the "why only commercial, why not charities and political beggars," but how in heck is this against the first amendment?
