  1. Probably because its set up to have something to do with caucasian cultuer or something like that. Although I couldn't quit tell you what caucasian culture is. There's already a big club that's all about Caucasian culture. It's called America. Actually, I refuse to call myself 'Caucasian' because I am NOT from the Caucasus mountains. Also, just because a group of people are white doesn't mean they share the same culture. For example, I grew up with polka and Irish folk music, Polish/Irish food, and Irish dancing so, going by the above statement, I guess every white person did. It makes me laugh that anytime the idea for a 'club for white people' comes up everyone readily assumes it is a racist thing. Why isn't NAACP or the Rainbow Coalition (Jesse Jackson's thing) considered racist? Why was the Hispanic Club that existed in high school and college considered racist? They never let anyone but of those particular heritages into their club? As long as no one is causing trouble, let them be and have their club, maybe some good will come out of - volunteering (most of the college clubs I was in mandated a certain amount of volunteering ). One last thing, people that are convinced 'whites' have it so easy and are all the same because they share the color of their skin make me laugh at their naiveté. I wish I was so lucky to have one of these easy white lives I keep reading about. Maybe then I wouldn't have had to work 2 jobs while going through college and still ending up with student loans, watch my parents nearly lose their house in the '80s because there were no jobs to be had after the steel mills closed and have no dental insurance until 25 and no health insurance from the age of 18 until 25 (prior to that, the insurance I did have was a joke at best and covered next to nothing). And that is just the tip of the ice berg. And lastly, I know I will get flamed for this post, but so be it.
  2. My off season projects are adding on and remodeling the house (as of Monday I will be out of my house for about 2 months because of this). Other than that, I will be cruising the midwest following the Cincinatti Cyclones (ECHL, unless they move the the WHA2 (or something like that) as has been rumored). Oh yeah, and if my bf keeps his word, get engaged between now and the beginning of spring training.
  3. I have free tix and have no desire what so ever to be there. I'll probably leave an inning or two early so I can still have fun on a Friday night.
  4. I couldn't watch after the first. The homeplate ump was absolutely terrible. My cub lovin' aunt was even complaining about the ump. Oh well, it figures that I get free tickets and I have no desire to go...
  5. I couldn't watch after that first inning - that ump was absolutely atrocious. He was watching the Twinks dance in the box rather than the pitches. Did the ump improve at all or did Colon give up and start groovin' them down the heart of the plate?
  6. I'll be there Friday, but only because my aunt was able to get free tickets last week. I am going as a casual fan (just going to have fun and not worry about the score) instead of a Sox fan for that night. They are 0-3 when I am at the game and I have too much to do this weekend to worry about a team who doesn't give a f*** themselves. I thank the good Lord that I had to pack last night and that my sister came over with her baby to help out - it kept me from watching that game.
  7. He said it in the state of the union address and the address to the nation declaring war...or at least that's what I thought he said...
  8. Anyone giving him gruff about not playing with a migraine has obviously never experienced one. I suffer from them on a regular basis (actually just getting over one). I do go to work with them, but it's one thing to work in a lab/in front of a computer and another to be running up and down a court. In regards to Loiaza, Manuel should have been able to see he couldn't go regardless of what Loaiza said. I know when I have the flu, I still insist on going to work whether I should or not (and contrary to the popular belief that people that do this think the world will stop without them, I go to work when feeling under the weather because I am more afraid of falling behind in my work and/or getting in hot water or a missed day - yes I can be paranoid at times ). The fact of the matter is there is nothing that can be done to go back and try something else, unless you are John Litor (or whatever his name was in the thread on the OT page).
  9. That's probably because they know very little about the teams and probably didn't look at the schedule. I am going to guess another reason they voted for the Sox because of some of the names we picked up in the last few months.
  10. You've got to be kidding me. No wonder this team couldn't give a flying f*** today. I wish my download would hurry up so I can turn off the puter and get my mind off of this team... :puke
  11. f***ing flyouts and popouts! :fyou [VENT]They can shove them up their asses sideways. f*** this, I've got better things to do than to watch this bunch of pants' pissing panty waists. [/VENT]
  12. [VENT] :fyou this team, just :fyou this team. What the f***? Just once I would like to see a White Sox team that doesn't let me down eventually...[/VENT]
  13. Well girls and guys, I am giving myself a break for the night. The Sox aren't helping my migraine at all so I will type with you later or tomorrow depending if the Sox ever actually show up tonight.
  14. And I actually thought this team might actually have a pair and not piss themselves during a big game. This team makes me sick at times.
  15. Not this pop up crap again (btw if it seems that I am behind - my internet connection is really slow tonight).
  16. Was Loiaza that bad, was the ump that bad or was it a combo of the two?
  17. That guy is a horse's ass. They must be hard up for QBs if they let that poor excuse QB after everything.
  18. Somehow I doubt ND will blow them out - they barely won last year (I think it was last year). While MSU (GO SPARTANS!!!!) might not win, they have a real coach, instead of the cardboard cutout from last year, and they will show up.
  19. My brother can tell you all about being scared of heights. He was 10 (I think it was actually his 10th b-day when we went) the first time he went to the 'New' Comiskey and when he came out of the tunnel and started to go up the steps, he made the mistake of stopping to turn around and look at the field. He had a full blown panic attack and refused to budge - he was convinced that he was going to fall to the lower deck. He begged my aunt for her car keys and kept telling her that he would go listen to the game in the car and wait for them there. We eventually got him to his seat and after he got used to it he was fine. We still joke about it and I jab at his back while he walks done the stairs telling him not to fall or he'll go over the edge. Now that he is 22 he loves the upperdeck, but won't look at the field while walking down the stairs!
  20. Ditto! I don't know if I will have any nails left by 7PM tonight!
  21. I hope that is all it is, and if Loiaza and Coop say that is all it is, I will take their word for it. I guess we will find out soon enough...
  22. UD have some of the best seats in the house - that's where I will be Friday!
  23. Can I be on the crew or a shipmate or something like that?
