  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) Will the real Chicago White Sox please standup? They just did. Please, please please tell me they just did.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 07:03 PM) It's on WGN also. ^^^ I can choose to watch a crystal clear, perfect color game on ESPN, or watch a slightly faded, slightly fuzzy game on WGN I think it's pretty obvious which channel I'm watching.
  3. QUOTE(G&T @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 06:58 PM) Where has this starting pitching been? I dunno, 1 run on Monday, 1 run yesterday...I'd say it's been here all along.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 12:39 PM) Cheesus, what happened to him? How the hell is this the same person? He tried the Supersize Me experiment apparently
  5. QUOTE(alexgtp @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) Could this be the kick start the Sox needed? Vaz picthing a CG and completely dominating the BoSox? with 11 K's. Except that the Sox lost
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) LOL That is a one week portion? ok, now find me a one week portion of ARod's career where it was worse than any one week portion of BAs career. Thank you. I could have swore I wrote 1 week. Right? Let's just be consistent here. Uhhh... So instead of doing something logical like posting a 2 month span of OPS, I have to find just one week. Damn, I guess my thinking is just stupid I don't have the time, nor the care, to find a 1 week time period. I found a 2 month time period, and I think that should be plenty suitable, but if not, you win.
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:30 PM) You know there's a friggin difference between one week, two months and an entire season. NO WAY. BRIAN ANDERSON HAS A .229 AVERAGE. OZZIE PLATOONS HIM. HES NOT GOOD
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) Yes, and ARod's or Pujol's worst week of their career will be better than any week in BA's career thus far. LOL Didn't Kalapse just point out ARod's second stint in the big leagues, where he put up a .647 OPS? How about ARod's first callup, when he put up an OPS of .445? I'm pretty sure I could probably find a case.
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) we have probably the best offense in baseball, where was this pitching when we were scoring 5 runs a game? When we hit, we don't pitch. When we pitch, we don't hit. Wish I could answer it for you. If I could, I'd probably have Guillen's job. Then again, I probably wouldn't be a media darling who says something outrageous and dumb anytime someone wanted to talk to me.
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) You helped prove my point. Thank you. These players shouldn't be compared. Awesome. Doesn't change the fact that if you use a 1 week sample time, you can skew statistics anyway you want to.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) I will give you ARod, but I am not so sure about Pujols. Plus I don't think comparing BA to two the best offensive players in baseball is a good thing. From the looks of it BA has had more bad weeks in one year than Arod and Pujols have had in their combined careers. Who's had more bad weeks in the last 3 months, ARod or BA? (relatively speaking here...a .700 OPS is bad for Rodriguez whereas a .700 OPS for Anderson is mediocre). I haven't had time to do the research, but I'd bet it is close. ARod has obviously been better, but we are not expecting .300 45 140 25 1.000 out of BA.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 09:17 AM) It's all about the pitching. Giving up 4 runs in 18 innings is pitching poorly now? With Julian Tavarez and KASON GABBARD starting against the Sox? It's no longer about the pitching. It's about scoring some goddamn runs.
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 07:27 AM) Well I'm glad the Sox were part of history. It would have been better if Kason were not a part of history
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) Seriously, Brian Anderson is one of the only players who has done his freakin job the 2nd half of the season and he's the one getting called out, beautiful. I mean no rookie should ever struggle their first two full months of major league ball, so because of that lets look at his batting average on a whole. Ozzie Guillen might want pitching and defense but being one of the better defensive centerfielders in baseball means absolutely nothing if you struggle for the first two months of your major league career. Heads must be right, Brian Anderson is a communist, that's the only explanation I got. HOLY SHARTBALLS I FIGURED OUT WHY OZZIE DOESNT LIKE BRIAN He can't pitch worth a damn IT ALL MAKES SENSE
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:24 AM) A Dhia bronn orm suaimhneas chun glacadh leis na rudaí nach féidir liom a athrú misneach chun na rudaí a athrú is féidir liom agus ciall chun an difríocht a aithint. Slan Amen
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:23 AM) He'll be in CF batting 9th, I'm sure. While Pods puts up a 1-for-4 with 3 k's, and Brian waits quietly and patiently on the bench.
  17. QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) First how does a race horse piss, and secondly how does that manor of pissing difer from a regular horse? dammit that means I have to do research. dammit f that
  18. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) I want(ed) Pods to start because of potentially what he brings to the team when he gets his head out of his ass. You've got to admit. The Pods of last year is what our lineup desperately has needed and missed. The fact he is the same guy made me believe he'd turn it around so YES I've wanted him in the lineup over Mack or Ozuna or Gload. Uribe I think has hurt our lineup a lot this year, but my opinion on him changes when somebody on here reminded me he is a great great defender. I think I am more like Oz in being more apt to not want an unproven guy to play over a proven guy. I guess that completely depends upon what your definition of proven is. Second half splits of .282/.333/.427/.761 is proven enough for me to be trotting him out there everyday in the homestretch of the year.
  19. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:51 AM) The point may be many of you love BA because the other option is s***ty Mack. Could it be KW erred big time in giving Oz no other option like ROWAND??? I'll go out on a limb then and say Anderson's an all-star within the next 3 years.
  20. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:44 AM) I wonder how many of you anti-Brian posters are this way just because he's not Aaron f***ing Rowand... I honestly think that's half the issue some people have with him. Cause he's not Aaron. I so miss the days of Aaron Rowand trying to kill himself for 1 out. I love the guy, love his heart, love his intensity, love his passion for the game...but he is one dumbass motherfooker.
  21. QUOTE(irishsoxer @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) Anderson will not be a Sox within 2 years -book it. He has had ample opps to prove himself -come on all you man crushers, he just doesnt have what it takes. When KW goes to bed at night, he does not dream about sex with his wife, he does not dream about a threesome with Jessica Simpson and Beyonce. No, none of that. He dreams about Brian Anderson in CF. KW f***ing adores BA. Why else do you think he would trade 2 CFers within the White Sox organization within 2 months time?
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:42 AM) I swear if KW gets rid of either of these two kids because of crap mouth ..... KW isn't that dumb, so God help us all.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:45 PM) and if Paulie doesn't hit, he's going to hit into a ton of DP's. Actually, if he didn't hit, he wouldn't hit into DPs.
