QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) wite give it up man Dallas went out and got two BEASTS on the DLine... not only that, they pick up a solid LBer in round 2, THEN they get a RB that should be a very solid back up to Jones.. and to round it out they take a DE that had 1-2 round talent but injuries dropped him.. They got an A+ I will give them an A...whether or not you agree does not matter to me. I will refuse to give any team an A+ unless they addressed all of their team needs outstandingly. Dallas could have used depth at WR, and did not address it. Therefore, it is an A.

QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) Wrong... there is no way the Packers could pass up Aaron Rodgers They needed a future QB to groom. They did not NEED Rodgers. That can be any QB they feel works. Frye, Orlovsky, Orton, McPherson are all guys that could have been groomed to be the next starting QB in Green Bay. Taking him was just because of the value. There was a way that Green Bay could have passed on Rodgers. I'm not saying passing on him would have been the right move.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) f, they didnt need benson when they have thomas jones, mark bradley, who the hell is that, and he wont win a job over any of the wrs, they needed an offensive linemen at the least did they get it no. Go Packers The Packers didn't need Rodgers, because they very easily could have taken Frye in the 2nd or someone like Orton or Orlovsky later on. And they SURE as hell didn't need ANOTHER WR when their defense is as bad as it is. That is brilliant, using your 2nd round pick, which you should absolutely use on a need unless someone like Mark Clayton fell to them, on another WR for offense when your offense will be good enough Packers are a potential last place team in that division, even with Favre as the QB, because their defense is not good...unlike Chicago and Minnesota. You lose

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) An excellent draft class. Truly, an A+ grading. I wouldn't say A+ for 2 reasons. Primarily because the general principle of A+ means perfect, and it is next to impossible to have a perfect draft, and I feel this is the same case here. They did have a magnificent draft, I would agree, but they could have used some depth and youth at WR, and didn't address that...but that is about the only beef I have with their draft. I truly feel all drafts could be better, but if you can get an A, you are very happy regardless, and that's probably what I would give them. Secondly, I also wouldn't say it is an A+ draft, because as someone said on here, you really can't tell how good a draft is for a few years afterwards. Probably the best draft by a team in history was by a Steelers team in the 70s - can't remember which one specifically, though I do recall it was the draft that Bradshaw was drafted in - where they ended up with like 7 future HoFers. When you can draft 7 HoFers in the same draft, that is a perfect draft, regardless of whether you addressed all of your needs.

To throw a little trash into the pile... Does the Bears-Packers argument even matter? The Vikings are going to win the division anyways -
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) Don't put those two (Kobe and T-Mac) in the same sentence in terms of defense. Kobe is superior to T-Mac. Get it? You are putting words into my mouth. I have never compared TMac and Kobe defensively. Not once. Kobe is better than TMac defensively, regardless. Not by as much as you would like to think, but he is better

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) I was talking about T-Mac. No you weren't

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 05:34 AM) I doubt it. You know RJ and Mussina will get the job done for you, but there are question marks after that. But they're the Yankees, and they'll turn it around. I am penciling Mussina in for a 13-10 4.50 ERA season right now, because at his age and with his declining stuff, he'd be lucky to put up better numbers then that RJ will probably win 18-20 games still - that I do not question. And I like Pavano a lot...I think he will probably be a solid 17 game winner for them with an ERA right around 4.00 But the last 2 are very shaky, the offense has aged incredibly quickly, and while it is still solid, it is not nearly as dangerous as it once was, and the pen is showing signs of weakness. Somehow, I'm not sold on the Yankees, and I'm not completely sold on Joe Torre remaining manager until the end of the year. I am not sure they are even the 2nd best team in the division right now, and that may not even matter, as it looks like both the Twins and Sox could be 90+ win teams as of right now, if not even more then that. I honestly think that they won't make the playoffs for the first time in 10 years.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) I'll break the law, just for you. Which gives every Timo hater more ammo.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) The good thing is, with a struggling Eric Chavez the A's really dont have a good lineup... Id say they have 3 hitters who are a pain in the ass. Kotsay - doing good Kendall - struggling Chavez - struggling so with that said unless the might Hatteburg beats us, we are playing the A's at a good time. Durazo is struggling too. We're struggling offensively too, so that pretty much cancels out. It will come down to pitching.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Don't even put those two in the same sentence defensively. Kobe's D is probably underrated because of his scoring proficiency. He can lock down. He defends well. I've seen it time and time again during their championship (Damn, I hate the lakers) runs. Maybe you weren't following basketball then, but I won't assume.. Kobe had some 7 footer behind him too during those championship runs. Atleast that's probably what Pippen would say

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) Or maybe Doug? Doubt it

SO NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHY BUFFALO TOOK A WR IN ROUND 2 AND A TE IN ROUND 3?!!!!!?!?!?!?!?! AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Did they really think they needed more depth at WR? Man, wtf...I am so f***in confused right now. WHY?

Why God? Why? :banghead

QUOTE(Be Good @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 07:52 AM) Ya that what I been hearing. But I don't it will, because we already a big WR in Chambers. I don't know how the Dolphins could pass up a RB. Considering thats whats needed and there are many skillful backs. I think they may trade down to like 7 or 10th and try to get a RB like Caddilac Williams and have a extra pick. I here Edwards is like Moss and T.O. and I don't want a player like that. Why in the world would you not one of the best receivers in the NFL? They have attitude problems, but they produce, period.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) There he goes...Nugent goes to the Jets in the second. Jet fans looked real happy with the pick...LOL

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Mel Kiper is also one of the most knowledgeable draft men out there. Yeah thanks for ruining the s*** on Kiper parade, jackass :rolly

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) WR still available: Reggie Brown, Georgia Mark Bradley, Oklahoma Jerome Mathis, Hampton Roscoe Parrish, Miami Probably Mathis, Chris Henry(who has attitude problems...that is the only thing keeping him down. 6-4, 200 4.45 40 or so...good player), Fred Gibson, also from Georgia. Only Mathis and Henry are probably options at 39 for Chicago, and perhaps Brown and Gibson...Parrish and Bradley would be huge reaches.

QUOTE(shagar69 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) we're gonna focus on some guy from a no name school just cuz hes fast. damn, angelo really f***ed up. We could have had williams and arrington So using that thought process, the 49ers never should have drafted Jerry Rice?
-
Call me crazy, but is this team, this $200 million team, in danger of not being .500, or at the very least, not making the playoffs? The offense will undoubtedly get better, but if you are giving up 7 or 8 runs a game, it will be hard for any offense to win a lot.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) KEnny Williams brokle the sire because he's a idiot and YOUR a idiot to if you dont think hes responsible for ruining that cite like are baseball team.

If I had one of those things, I would be afraid that it would crawl in some crazy places.
