  1. I don't remember hearing anybody ever say that. And what that has to do with this I'm unsure of.
  2. No one has said that, and if they did, no one meant it. I think we've explained that to you several times and yet you continually bring it up. We all know Garland is better then Grilli...that is why more is expected out of Garland then Grilli. So just drop it.
  3. I have said before that I would take Jose back...just not as a starter. If he is starting next year, we could be in trouble. I love Jose as a player...I think you guys know that...but he can't be a starter for us next year, unless it is over a short period of time. I think letting him become the new super utility guy would be good for him. Let him play 2B, SS, and 3B whenever needed. When he's hot, he can ignite a team to a pretty hot stretch.
  4. Atta kid! Thank you Jose for the past 5 years...they have been good ones. You have gotten many fans over those years, me being one of the biggest. What a way to end your tenure as the White Sox SS with #30. Once again, thank you Jose.
  5. Competing for a job is much different then being guaranteed a job. We could bring Minnie Minoso back, but odds are he wouldn't make the team...he'd be competing for a job nonetheless. If Grilli really is this bad(and he is), he won't make the team.
  6. Angels win. AL has all 4 playoff teams...though the matchups are not quite known yet. New York, Boston, Minnesota, and Anaheim.
  7. His ERA in the second half has been under 4.00, and he has just been throwing the hell out of the ball. That, and him staying in to pitch longer has had a lot to do with him. It is simple logic...if you throw more innings, you will give up more runs(hence, the ERA goes up), but you will get more wins because you will give the bullpen less of a chance to blow it(hence more wins). Colon is a workhorse, and thus gets a lot of wins. That and the Angels offense is pretty damn good too.
  8. He's a hell of a manger. Hell, he sparked us in 2000. He was managing the Tigers, but it all works out the same, doesn't it?
  9. Plan C sucks. If we have to use Plan C, the season is down the s***ter, and you may as well use plan D as far as I'm concerned.
  10. Because he regressed. For example, if you are teaching your baby how to walk, and he can walk, but he starts crawling everywhere again, are you going to be congratulate your baby? Jon had a worse season this year then he did the past 2 years. That is unacceptable.
  11. There's a chance he could also become an absolute stud for us too. Here's what I'm wondering...are we, as a fan base, still happy with got Contreras for Loaiza, especially with that albatross of a contract?
  12. It should be read /English lesson /English lesson
  13. Once again, Cincinatti dealt him to Oakland because they were going nowhere and Oakland made them a good offer(one that included Aaron Harang and Joe Valentine). And Oakland did not resign him due to financial reasons. I don't know what happened the other times...whether he was just crappy, or there was an attitude problem or both...but he was not gotten rid of by Cincinatti and Oakland because he's a piece of s***. Remember, this is a guy that played with a broken wrist in Oakland down the stretch last year, so you can't say he's not a team player.
  14. Uribe has basically been named starter for 2B or SS...but not SS. KW will go after the best available 2B or SS for the Sox, and then Uribe will play the other, simple as that. Let me just say that I would like to get Garciaparra, so long as it didn't cost us $15 mill a year...hell, $12 mill is probably too much. Get a starter, get some bullpen help, move some money around, get some other key guys to fill other holes, and then worry about getting Nomar. JMO
  15. No, they'll look back at when they lost 5 of 6 to cellar dwellers in the last week and a half of the season, and realize that they choked.
  16. What's even crazier to think about is that Carlos Guillen could very well be in Cleveland right now, but the Vizquel for Guillen trade got nixed or was vetoed by someone. That would be scary.
  17. And it will cost the Sox the division too. Please, KW...do not let KC get Guillen. Keep him the hell out of the division at the very least. Jack up his price and if you are "unlucky" enough to acquire him, so be it.
  18. D'Angelo Jimenez can't put a team on his back and carry them for a month either. Another thing...Jimenez doesn't play balls out like Guillen does. He played with a broken wrist last year, and has been a huge part in getting the Angels where they are now. It would be unwise, IMO, to not go after him. BTW...just curious, how do you know that Jimenez is so much better then Guillen?
  19. For the love of God, no, don't let the f'in Royals get him. I want him in RF more then I think I've ever wanted anything before.
  20. In technicality, that sounds about right. Not making the deal was the right move at the time though.
