  1. I think he needs to pretend he is in Seattle still. If he is still pitching for Seattle, he just got f***ed up. 5 runs in 6 IP is huge, even if a few of them are UER. You have to pitch around the error. We won. That's the important thing. But Freddy can't pitch like he did tonight and think he can continue to get wins. It's just not gonna happen.
  2. There are $34 million reasons why that will not work.
  3. In the lineup he was in, if he were decent, he would have an OPS of atleast .750. .628 is f***ing awful, plain and simple.
  4. Anaheim's just right outside LA. What the f*** gives Randy?
  5. No. Jose's a good SS, and Uribe-Harris at 2B will be all we need. I don't even think we should sign him in the offseason. Just resign Jose and we'll be fine.
  6. So we're the best offense in the majors. And to think, this offense is not yet ready for the playoffs yet. Not quite anyways. we still need a contact hitter who will feast on playoff pitching.
  7. The first 7 things listed are huge contributing factors to the 8th one.
  8. Biggio and Bagwell have been solid this year...nothing more, nothing less. But to say Berkman has been "decent but nothing spectucaluar" is an insult to Lance Berkman. He's 3rd in the NL in OPS at 1.074, has 16 homers, 58 RBI, along with walking more then he strikes out, and is hitting a modest .311. He has been even better with runners on base...he's hit .350 with runners on, .370 with RISP, .353 with RISP w/ 2 outs, and .364 with the bases loaded. Nothing spectacular my ass...he's probably a top 3 OFer in the NL this year and is worthy of starting in the All-Star game.
  9. Kind of looks like Ponson is getting the best of Bartolo there, eh?
  10. Some of us knew that Jose's defense wasn't so bad as early as 2002. But no one listened.
  11. Cheering for the Twins and Cubs, duh. :headshake
  12. Hey now, I said it too. You can't take all the credit for it. :finger
  13. I saw that too. I bet it was like 'What in the f*** are you still doing here?' Damn I'm gonna miss Mo.
  14. 85 and 86 both suck ass. GO 87!
  15. Which is f***ing scary as hell. Those flyball outs in Safeco could be homers(and in some cases, long homers) in USCF.
  16. We can only hope. If you thought Garcia in the last year of his contract on a team that had to give him up cost a lot, can you imagine what Arizona COULD for RJ knowing that they do not have to give him up and that he has another year left(whether that's a good or bad thing, I don't know)? Crede would be apart of the trade for sure, one of Harris and Uribe could be apart of it, I would assume that potentially both Rauch and Diaz could go, or Cotts or Honel, and then probably one of Sweeney, Borchard, and Anderson too...or a package consisting of those players at the very least. Not all would go, but most would. With the way KW has hurt our future in giving up Olivo and Reed along with Morse, he cannot stop at Garcia. He simply cannot. He has to go for it all. He offers that package to Arizona, and if they accept, we talk RJ into coming. Simple as that. Then of course, if RJ does not want to come, we have to look to Milwaukee...as much as they do not want to give up Sheets, if we offered them a big package, they wouldn't be able to refuse. Personally, I say go for RJ...if you can't get him(be it Arizona's unwillingness to trade him, RJ not wanting to go, or both), then go for Sheets. We need another playoff arm. Along with that arm, we could use a reliever or two, and a very good contact hitter as well. If the right trade were to come up, I'd almost say trade Paulie and then go and get Randall Simon for that contact hitter...but maybe that's too risky.
  17. He kinda looks stoned. I mean, he did light it up on a plane with the Tigers a couple years ago.
  18. Shingo has a 65 MPH frisbee and an 85-88 MPH fastball. Sit on the frisbee, you are beaten. Sit on the fastball and you are way out in front of the frisbee. People will not catch on to Shingo.
  19. I don't blame you. We looked done. If we end up winning the division, one of the reasons is Jon Rauch. Without his performance against Cleveland allowing us to split the series, we are DONE. We don't get Garcia, we don't win the series against the Cubs, hell, we could be 6 games out by now.
  20. And to even think KW is considering those is beyond reason. KW will keep Valentin, period. I highly doubt he's even considering trading him for anything.
  21. Which is why I see Burke going down. 4 off days in the second half? Damn.
  22. Kip Wells being the best one he's let go so far, no? Either way, I do agree.
  23. I see us either going with an 11-man staff, or Burke going down. Gload will stay on, Davis will be called up shortly, and then one of Diaz, Burke, and Rauch will be sent down. Otherwise I agree with that roster. And I do see KW getting a reliever or two. I definately see him being in the Urbina race, and he'll be inquiring about other relievers from all over. If we can get Urbina, I will feel very comfortable going down the stretch.
  24. Says who? We will not necessarily suffer. That's his opinion, and while it is a very informed opinion and he makes good points to back it up, it is not a fact. Anderson and Sweeney could take huge steps towards development next year and become what Blalock and Teixiera were for Texas a couple years ago...Gio Gonzalez could fly through the system and have everything just click...Honel could finally become a stud pitcher...who knows. Maybe we win this year, bring in all kinds of money, retain Garcia, retain Maggs, get 2 good arms for the pen...who the hell really knows? This year is make or break for the Sox, and could very well be make or break for the Twins too.
  25. That's scary-ass s***, and I had not thought about that. The Twins could easily get Maggs(Jones+LeCroy+Balfour...that could get you Maggs from the Braves standpoint), and that would be worse then losing Big Mo. Now that I've considered that, Maggs cannot be apart of a deal where he is sent to a non-contender. The only place he could be traded to is to a contender in the NL...if we would happen to see him in the WS, so be it. You cannot run the risk of trading him to a non-contender simply due to the fact that Minnesota COULD have interest in him, and he could spark their lineup. Let's just get Jones and Ortiz, and be done with it.
