I'm quite sure he's still available. I'd take him. He's be better then nothing.

No need for the green. Not at this time atleast.

On the last game, I died 87 times and finished it in about 15-16 minutes.

Maybe not Gagne, I mean, Wright can blow a save now and then, it's not that big of a deal if he does.

I think it's obvious who the organization thought was the reason we didn't make the playoffs. And I agree. With a half-decent manager, you guys aren't having this argument.

Oh come on, it's fun! Hell, it's snowing here again.....Yippee! -
SSI, Your whole Sherman-Ditka argument is apples and oranges to Backman-Gardenhire. If I am thinking correctly, Sherman and Ditka are not good friends, like Backman and Gardenhire are. And Ditka is NOT the head coach of the Bears anymore, and I don't care what kinds of feelings you have for what he did with the Bears. Plain and simple, if say Terry Bevington congratulated the Twins on winning the division, would you give a s***? That's a fairer comparison, and me, no I would not. Or if you want it to be closer related to the Backman-Gardenhire situation, it would be like (hypothetically)Shoop and Sherman being friends and Shoop congratulating Sherman, saying he wants the job(and this is also assuming Shoop is a good O-coordinator, which everyone knows he is not)

Which is why you are a pitcher(and a pretty good pitcher at that) in a MLB organization. This all makes sense now!

I'd rather be a Sox fan too(which is why I'm on soxtalk and not cubstalk), but besides that point, commentators are not why I'd rather be a White Sox fan. I could give a s*** who the commentators are. If they're bad enough, well, to put it plainly, remotes have a mute button for a reason. We have the luxury of having two very good commentators....doesn't make me any more or any less of a Sox fan. And the Cubs are better going into the season then the White Sox.

I watched some of the Agassi-Enqvist match last night, and to tell you the truth, I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did. It was quite entertaining.

If Jay stepped one foot on the South Side, I bet he's ass would be on the ground quicker then you can say "Cubs suck." Then he'd write in his next article about how Sox fans are low-life dirtbags who gave me a black eye, and he didn't see why he deserved to be knocked on his ass. He'd then go on to write that the Cubs will win 109 games and will go 11-0 in the playoffs, and will win for the next 3 years while the Sox sit miserably winning 80 games a year.

I assume you're talking about a cup around the size of a dixie cup.

Also had one of the few "perfect" seasons ever. Something like he pitched in 30-50 games(not sure what the number is exactly) with no wins, no losses, and no saves, the 3 major categories.

IMO, they could win 10. I have them beating all the division foes one time. That's 3-3. I had them beating Houston, beating San Fran(who I think will finish in 3rd or 4th next year, losing Owens and maybe Streets), losing to Indy, losing to Philly, and beating Washington(I think they lose to them if they have to go to DC, but they'll win in Chicago). They're 6-5 at this point. I have them losing to Dallas(but I think a lot of teams will lose to Dallas next year....they add a good QB and a good HB, and they are a 12-13 win team), beating Jacksonville, NY, Tampa Bay(who I believe will lose some pretty good players defensively), and Tennessee(who will be hit hard by the salary cap. McNair is good, but one guy can only do so much). I think they should easily make 8-8, and they could even get up to 12 or 13 wins....or they could only get 5 or 6 wins. I think they'll win 10, maybe not necessarily the teams I said they'd beat, but I still think they win 10 regardless, and win the division.

It wouldn't be so bad if they went somewhere cold. This tropical s*** pisses me off. I could survive in that s***, it ain't that big of a deal. Hell, I've lived in the mid-f***ing-west all my life. I've seen rain, I've seen 100 degree days, I've seen 110 degree days, I've seen windy as hell conditions, I've seen blizzards, I've seen -10 temperatures, I've seen -20 temperatures, hell, I've seen a windchill of -70. I figure if the show gets such good ratings because of hot babes in bikinis(or hot guys, if you like them that way), have one of the reward challenges be where one guy and one girl gets to own a hot tub for one night. How difficult is that to understand? I guaran-f***ing-tee you that you won't see (as many) Californians and Floridians and Texans up north. You'll see people from Montana, Minnesota, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Canada, etc, etc.....these people actually have a shot at winning. I like the Californians and the Floridians and the Texans on this board, but I'm not sure how many of them have ever shoveled snow, let alone be in below freezing conditions for months at a time. Rant off -
Very well said!

Just an FYI baggs, Wagner was dealt to Philly, which is one of the reasons why Houston has been so active this year. So that does leave us with the best LH relief pitching in the majors....good for us. Doesn't help that we have 4 other question marks in the pen(Politte isn't guaranteed, Zero is 35 and has never pitched in the majors, Koch, well, who the hell knows what Koch is going to do, and then we have our 6th reliever, and no one knows who that is going to be or what to expect)

I need not read the article. Afterall, he seems to always copy what we post on here. Come out, come out Jay. We know you're on here.

Didn't they score like 8 goals in a game last year as well? Anyways, even a computer geek will get some now and then.

Did Baseball 2Nite talk about the AL Central?

I've always wondered about rocket science. Can you help me out? -

You get publicity if you deserve publicity. Right now, quite frankly, we don't. No team in the division does. If enoguh bad things happen, this could be the first division to ever produce a playoff team with a sub-.500 record. And, BTW, who honestly cares whether or not you hear anything about the AL Central? The only time I'll ever watch that show is to see the highlights of something, and in the offseason, you won't see a whole lot of highlights. -
That's my thinking as well. He wasn't gonna close for New York or San Diego or anywhere else, so why not sign where you have at the very least a shot at closing.

Just to make a point, I don't like the lineup either, however, the Twins and Royals have proved that getting base hits and not trying to hit homers all the time is what wins games. It brings a little more small ball into the picture, which is how Ozzie will probably manage. I like it in that sense, though I still would rather have a big LH power hitter in the middle of the lineup. Also, we wouldn't necessarily need Williamson in the bullpen, but it would be another good pitcher to have in the pen, mainly because the Sox may move Koch while taking on some of his salary. Without Koch, the bullpen is Marte, Wunsch, Politte, Zero, and then 2 others(Wright, Diaz, Ginter, Yofu, etc). With Williamson, it adds much more depth, allowing us to not only trade a reliever if needed, but also allows us to to bring up some people in some pitchers in the pen get injured. I guess you could say that in this Williamson = Koch, with Williamson making less then Koch. Though if we get Ben Weber in the deal as well, I don't see the need for Williamson much either, and that could maybe help the deal get made.

Patriots 12, Panthers 9(though New England kicks the game-leading field goal to put New England up 9-6 with 1:00-1:15 left on the clock, Delhomme drives Carolina down the field, and Kasay kicks the game-tying field goal as time expires, and for the first time in history, the Superbowl goes to overtime....and then double overtime, and halfway through double overtime, Vinatieri kicks a 50 or so yard field goal and the Pats win)
