I just hope we have these two as long as Flash can pitch well. He throws the ball so well you would never think he was 36. He throws like he is 26. As long as we have those two throwing well, our pen will always have to be respected. Add another good arm, and we have quite the trio. Anyways, when Nen is healthy, Felix Rodriguez and Nen are filthy as well. And if you think Hawkins and Guardado are in the top 5, you are sadly mistaken. Top 10, maybe. But not top 5.

Just curious... How often are we going to be inducting sigs into the HoF?
-
That's probably who I'd say too.

I like both of the Bills's new jersey's. Owner of a Bledsoe road jersey myself. I say that probably cuz I'm biased though. I like a lot of alternate jersey's. For instance, I think the Bears alternate jersey is orange with blue lettering, the Vikings is yellow with purple lettering, etc. I wouldn't like them if they wore them everyday, but if they used them in a game maybe once a year or for casual wear by fans, I like them quite a bit. I also like throwback jerseys, but the throwback jerseys in the NFL aren't quite as cool as the ones in baseball and basketball.

:finger I don't have a penis!! I'm glad you clarified that.

I've thought about trading Lee to LA. I assume they could possibly use Henderson at 1B, so then their OF would be Lee, Burnitz, and Green from left to right. Once Roberts gets healthy, Lee stays in LF, Roberts goes back to CF, Burnitz to RF, and Green to 1B. And there's no reason they couldn't try to use Burnitz in CF, Lee in RF, Henderson in LF, and Green at 1B, but I wouldn't suggest it. That gives them another good bat in the lineup, and we get Mota or Shuey from them. We could also get Lightenberg from Baltimore, Levine from Tampa Bay, Witasick(or others) from San Diego, Weathers from the Mets, DeJean or Luis Vizcaino from Milwaukee, Williamson from Cinci, and probably others too. There are a lot of guys available. Getting the right one will be more difficult.
-
Most likely. I just don't want to get too excited. Take it one game at a time.
-
Yeah, you're probably right. I think that if we get another reliever or two, we advance atleast to the ALCS.
-
Not so sure about that. Toronto, I believe, has the worst pen in the majors, and aside from like Halladay, their starting rotation's ERA is pretty terrible too.
-
Agreed. Hopefully, the offense scores about 6 or 7 runs early all 3 games, so then our starters can go 6 or 7 strong and we can use all kinds of pitchers to finish the game.

I'd once again look for a .320 35 135 type season from Maggs. He's gonna rip the cover off the ball in the second half again. That, and Paulie's starting to hit better, Everett's been decent, Alomar has been good on both sides of the ball, the starting pitching is starting to dominate, and then you have other good players on the team who are also very dangerous(Daubach can kill the ball when he gets going, Thomas does the same, Lee is known as mainly a one-half player, Crede ripped the cover off the ball in August and September last year, and Valentin can go nowhere but up, along with others including the fact that Rick White was a somewhat dominant pitcher in St. Louis last year down the stretch), and I really, really like this team's chances. One or two more relievers, and I think we are playoff bound.
-
A miracle it would not be. He's done it 11 times this year and has done it 130 other times in his career. The miracle would be if he could start throwing 97 or 98 and he got out of the inning without walking anyone.

I'm thinking about nominating CubsSuck's. That is a damn nice ass.
-
Yeah, I understood that, but if we got one of those kids that can throw like 100, I don't think I'd want to give him up(Cain and Threet or something like that?). From what I've understood from Rex, Pacheco and Diaz are quite similar pitchers, and in my mind, one of them becomes available, and neither of them can throw 100 either. We could give them that 3rd guy though too. That wouldn't be a problem.
-
Good prospect....there are a lot of good prospects, but what do they mean? Would Diaz fit in that category?
-
Jason Kendall would be a very good bat to add to the lineup. He and Giles would almost be perfect. Both are very good contact hitters, and that is something this lineup needs. Kendall has some pop in his bat, but he doesn't hit many homers. And you know what.....I think that's exactly what we need. Also, Jas, I believe the Orioles are willing to take on atleast part of Konerko's contract, correct? Trade Konerko for Lightenberg....saves $4-8 mill as well. Trading Colon to San Fran for Williams, Foppert, and that Cain kid(which I would love to do) would put them over the top, give us a very talented rotation, and it would free up $12-16 mill. I think that could most definately make us the favorite in the AL.

Bagwell beat him to 400, but I personally think that Thomas will beat him to 500(if Bagwell even makes it to 500....IIRC, his shoulder has been a problem for him in the past, and I don't think it has been fixed)

Are we finally getting what we hoped from Garland?
witesoxfan replied to Loaiza21's topic in Pale Hose Talk
With his stuff, 87 would cut it. Barry Zito rarely touches 90, FWIW. But he won't be ready next year. He throws way too many pitches to be a major league pitcher. A September call-up next year and coming up in 05 is the way I see it. -
So this brings up the question....right now, because we know who we still have off the list of players that were available....are we buyers or sellers? I would be so in favor of getting a dominant arm or two for the pen for down the stretch. I would absolutely love getting Mota or Shuey from the Dodgers, but what would it take? I wouldn't mind getting DeJean from Milwaukee, but once again, I wouldn't give up that much to get him. Lightenberg seems like a good pitcher, and I'm sure we could get him, and we could always try to get another starter(maybe Trachsel, Suppan, D'Amico, Lawrence, Valdes, maybe someone else?) and move Wright to the pen. Just throwing some names out there.

so the spurs give up.....? No one. They just get those two

f***ing soft drinks? What is that s***? I think I've maybe spilled a pop in a car like 1 or 2 times, and that's just because I was taking a drink and we hit a bump in the road. It's just so damn easy to drink it. Maybe it's harder while driving, but I wouldn't imagine it would be. If you have a can, open it up just a little bit so that pop can't fly out of the can if you hit a bump, and if you get a bottle, screw the cap on every time you finish drinking. And why in the world would you eat chili or soup in a car?
-
How about slutty? And Jewel definately is fine. But after hearing that intuition song about 15 times, I got sick and f***ing tired of it. The mute button can be beautiful at times.
-
If we can get another arm or two for the pen, do it. Trade him to LA and get Mota and then a prospect. Then LA fans can wait for his "breakout year."
-
I think Juan Gone is the same kind of player as Frank Thomas. They're high on themself and have egos, they want their numbers, but if the team is winning, they are fine. Fear will set in if the Royals do acquire Gonzalez. However, I think they'll need atleast one more starting pitcher to win the division.
-
That'd be my priority as well. I think KW has a different priority though.
