What? Mike Porzio, Dan Wright, and Josh Stewart haven't been good enough for you? Regardless, we need help in the bullpen more then we do in the rotation. I can handle 4 studs in the rotation, and 1 dud. What I can't handle is having 2 studs, one decent pitcher, and 3 s*** pitchers in the pen
-
I don't give a s*** about them. We trade Lee and Konerko....problem solved. If the guys up-top think that this team with the personell it has now will go anywhere in the postseason, then they are sadly mistaken. Bullpens usually have more then 2 good pitchers

Jeter-15.00 Get the Thomas error card. Worth big bucks. I've seen some of those Thomas error cards. Those are neat. Worth like $400-$800, no? But trust me....my Jeter rookie is not worth $15.

Yeah, I have heard about Garcia being available too. The Mariners would like to add, I believe, another bat to their bench, but they have no payroll flexibility whatsoever. They get rid of his like $6.5 mill contract, and they suddenly do. If we can get rid of Konerko, we can do that move. Kong's making like $6.5 mill this year as well, but makes like $8 mill next year and a little more then that the year after. We can then take on some of Lee's salary(maybe $1.5 mill or so), and I'm sure we could easily do that deal. They only have to pay like $500,000 for Lee, if that even, and they then have room to acquire another bat. I could see something like that happening. The nice thing behind this trade is the fact that Garcia will be our 4th or 5th starter, not our 2nd or 3rd where there is more pressure on him to succeed. He puts up a 4.50 ERA, and he is doing great for us in those spots. And if Cooper can straighten him out and get him to start throwing his devastating changeup like he has done in the past(namely 2001), I will go out on a limb, and say we will have the best rotation in atleast the AL.

I just assume that beer tasted like s*** to me because it was warm. I hope it doesn't ruin my taste for beer. I think it would taste a whole hell of a lot better cold. I just know that right now, the last thing on my mind is drinking more warm beer. Makes me wanna f***ing throwup. Oh, and there were like 3 girls and like 3 guys over at the time I was drinking. There were more before then, but they left before I started. I had one Smirnoff Ice last summer....it was decent, but I wouldn't want to get drunk off that stuff. That would suck. I actually slept pretty well, but there were a few times later in the day I was almost postive I was going to puke....but I never did. The worst thing was was the fact that I had to do a little heavy lifting today(we had to take a very big, very old fridge to the landfill today....it was like a 1940-something Co-Op....there's a picture of something like it on the bottom, but it was a couple years older).

Holy s*** I'm going through a lot right now. For starters, we're moving from Pierre, SD to Bismarck, ND in about 3 weeks, and that's gonna suck ass. Moving to Bismarck is fine with me. I just really do not want to move away from Pierre. Small as it is, every friend of mine is here, and it will be very hard to move. And to get ready to move and sell the house we are in now, we have had to do a s***load of work. It has f***ing sucked, and only like me and my parents have done work. My brother has been a piece of s*** and done nothing and my sister is getting ready for college. We already bought a house in Bismarck(it is a nice house, 3 levels, a very nice and spacious master bedroom, a very nice, big lawn, a little walkway that looks over the front yard, a sun room, a deck, and a big upstairs. It is a huge house, and though I don't have the numbers in front of me, I am pretty sure the total sq footage of the house is over 3000....all that for just under $200,000. Of course there's a catch. The basement is very unfinished, because, aside from a family room, there is nothing done down there at all). So I have that going on, and the move up there is going to be hard as hell. All that, and my grandpa is dying(my mom said something that he was probably going to die tonight, but I haven't heard anything on it). Tragic, but no big surprise. He smoked for 50 years, what would you expect? I'm surprised he made it as long as he did. I believe he was like 75 or so, so he was pretty old. That will be hard, but I'll be able to move on. I also just found out that my best friend's uncle took his own life not that long ago. That has been and still is hard for me to get over. He was a great guy, funny as hell, and was a great father. He had bi-polar disorder and had stopped taking his medication. I don't think I have to explain much after that. I know that he had trouble telling me about it initially, and now that I've found out how he died, I can understand. It is a very hard thing to overcome, and he will be missed. I've also had some crazy ass dreams in the past 2 or 3 weeks or so, and there have been so many weird ones, I can't even remember them all. I do remember 3 quite well, so if you want me to explain what happened in them, I can. And to top it all off, I have some good news(or bad news, depending on how you look at it). For the first time in my life, I got drunk. I didn't get drunk because of all this s*** that has been going on, I just got drunk because my sister asked me if I wanted to. I said sure, and I followed her to her room. Another of her friends brought in a little cooler of beer, but it was warm and gross, so that really was a bad experience. I would have preferred to have had it a little colder. I found out that I'm a pretty good chugger, and considering it was my first time, I'd say I've got good potential. Had like 5 beers, and I was pretty drunk. That's definately a weird feeling. I think I liked it, but I'm not going to become some raging alcoholic and drink like every weekend or anything like that. And I also experienced my first hangover, which you'd expect. I got the s***s and was nauseous, but I faired better then my sister, who was much worse then I was. She ended up holding on to the porcelain for a little bit and could not make it to work this morning. Had a popsickle and I was fine after that. So, what's on your mind tonight?

It got up to 115 like 90 miles from here the other day.....that's f***ing hot, and IIRC, it was the hottest in the nation for the day(Phoenix must have had a cold front come through or something and it was only 105 )
-
I've collected in the past, but I've kind of stopped. My favorite card is probably my 90 leaf of Thomas. My main goal is to collect every Frank Thomas rookie card....I think I have about half of them. I also have one when he played in the Cape Cod league....it's a PSA card graded I believe an 8.5. I also have a Griffey rookie(I think Topps, but I'm not sure), a Jeter rookie(worth like $4), and that's about it. My dad has every Harmon Killebrew Topps card ever made though, if I remember correctly. And they are all in very good condition, considering how old they are. Quite a good investment....keep those suckers in good shape for 20 more years and you sell them....holy s***, you could probably get like somewhere between $500-$1000 for them.

Roman, pull your panties out of a f***ing wad. We didn't lose ground, and everyone is still healthy. Be happy. Porzio and White suck? Thank you very much captain obvoius
-
yeah i could see all the clubs lining up to sign him to a nice deal, more than what we gave him. 400,000 We'll just agree to disagree. Signing Daubach was great. He was a much, much better option then Jeff Liefer, who went to Montreal and was then released by them and picked up by Tampa. If given every day playing time, I would guess he'd have 10-15 homers right now with about 60 RBI and a .275 average.
-
It is pointless to do so. So we lost to the DRays. Big f***ing deal. A lot of other teams have lost to them too, and have have gotten beaten worse then we did. So it ends our 8-game winning streak. Who gives a s***? KC and Minny both lost, so we lose no ground. The only thing that could have made today better was a Sox win. But, hey, s*** happens.

In the playoffs, you start over. It does not matter if you won 70 games or 120 games in the regular season, if you are there, you are there, period. You are 0-0. The team that wins it all is the team that gets hottest going into the playoffs, and not necessarily the team that has the most talent. Last year, until the World Series, every team that was favored to win their respective series LOST that series(and I say the favored team won the World Series because there was no underdog). With the team we have right now, we would probably advance to the ALCS, but we would run out of gas in the ALCS. We have a very, very good 1-2-3, with Loaiza being wicked nasty at times, Buehrle being the stud that he is, and Colon being a horse. We could easily sweep the ALDS with the bullpen maybe throwing 3 innings. We'd run into problems in the ALCS, because we would not get 4 straight CG's(because that would be very close to 7 straight CG's by our staff), and the bullpen would wear down, mainly because it is not deep enough. That's not to say we couldn't add an arm or two to the pen to help deepen a weak spot on the team. Trading two guys would do the trick and would help balance out our overpacked lineup. If Thomas hits well the second half, Maggs continues to murder the ball, we add an arm or two via trade, and the starting holds up, we will be having a lot of fun in September and we will be playing in October. This is where Phil Rogers 30/190 theory comes into play. If you have pitchers who have done that, they know what it's like to pitch in August, and will not wear down quite so easily. We have a very strong staff in that regard. The Royals do not
-
Why would you assume we can't trade for both? Trade Lee or Konerko to LA and get Mota, Shuey, or Quantrill. Then trade for Suppan, D'Amico, or others. Hell, we would still have enough to get another arm for the pen if we need it. The thing that would be sweet as s*** would be if we could get someone to take on Koch if we paid half his salary. He is killing us. Hell, I'd take Antonio Osuna over f***ing Koch. What we need more is some bullpen help. But we need both BADLY.
-
LDF, just curious, you are aware of the fact that Daubach hit like .275 20 100 four straight years in Boston, right? For around the league minimum, that's a f***ing steal.
-
Rob Dibble, for the hotdog that he is, did make a great point last night on BBTN. He said something to the extent of it does not matter whether or not you were a good guy off the field, but what you did on the field that should matter. That's exactly right.
-
The question is not will he....it is when will he.

I thought you didn't like gay people

Anyone remember JM saying this? That was the 1 game we won in the 1-5 stretch against the Tigers and DRays. That was after Lou dyed his hair. So if, hypothetically, we do sweep Tampa and win our 10th in a row, what do you think he will do?
-
3 big hits(I think), solid defense in CF, helped balance out the lineup, and hit one homer. And he's just getting going

Suppose it's strawberry?
