Huh? Football is second only to baseball....barely. Football is the most exciting sport on the planet. It is slow-paced, yet can go very fast at the same times. It involves unleashing anger and physically abusing someone, yet not trying to kill them. How many other sports can have a team such as the Patriots or the Rams, going into a year looking to play and see if "experiments" work out(such as using Kurt Warner as the starting QB) or by winning a Superbowl with a backup QB. There is no sport where teams are so equally good(for example, every team in the AFC East last year was .500 or better....how many other sports can boast the same thing? I will venture to say none). Baseball can be fun, but the season seems like it is way long, the NBA can get quite boring and repititive, and the NHL doesn't seem to score enough(though I personally think that hockey is better then basketball). How can you NOT like football? Just curious

Clu....try eBay. I've bought numerous games on there, for about all my systems(bought a few games for my N64, bought like one big package of SNES games(I got both Griffey's, so that was worth it for me), and I got Castlevania and Bucky O'Hare(fun game, but is pretty easy and is quite corny) for NES. I may have bought others, and I just can't recollect which ones. They're also quite cheap too.

That was the greatest system ever. So many of the games were great, and it just proved the point that a game does not need good graphics to be fun. Tecmo Super Bowl was definately great, and I was always a fan of the Mega Man series. I have Mega Man 1, 4, and 6, and have also played 2 and 3. I have never gotten my hands on Mega Man 5. Also, I have beaten all 5 games that I have played.

No it's not. I never wish an injury on anyone, and I never like to see it from out rival. What's the fun in beating a team that isn't 100% healthy? I don't want them to be able to blame a season gone bad on injuries.

I'd say the biggest disappointment is Koch, but he just leads a thing that has been a disappointment as a whole, which would be the bullpen. You look at our bullpen, and it is just depressing. Glover has sucked, White has sucked, Wunsch has been hurt, Sanders has struggled, and then there's Koch. Gordon was being hit a little at the beginning of the year, but he is fine now, and Marte has been rock solid all year, except maybe 2 or so outings where he's been hit a little(I can think of the Giants game where he gave up the grand slam to Aurilia, and the Cubs game off the top of my head). Two guys can't make a bullpen by themselves. Konerko has been the biggest disappointment offensively, but I think if you're going to include MB in this list(he's thrown over 135 innings, his ERA is getting closer to the 4.00 mark, and he's won 4 in a row and gave a hell of an effort in Cleveland), then you have to include Aaron Rowand. The guy started off the year hitting .125. That's f***ing pitiful. But he was sent to the minors, and he fixed his swing, and he's better. My biggest disappointment in all....the record. Our pitching is in the top 5, and we have a decent offense. We should be better then 44-49, especially once you consider what division we are in. At the very least, our record should be switched around.

I'm just curious Who would spend that much time putting smilies up on a webpage(and for that matter, why would anyone put the hamsterdance website up?)?

I don't know. Maybe I've just seen too much Flash Gordon and gotten used to having a bigger breaking ball. And the fact that he throws from a different arm slot. Kind of in between 3/4 and sidearm. And maybe I'm just tired.

I have to disagree then. If the White Sox went back to their 1950's type-unis and played in them a whole year, I would have an exciting year watching White Sox baseball. It's better to have a uniform not very exciting and boring(like the Sox) then to have it too exciting(like the DBacks). And I like the more dull colors then the brighter colors. I don't really like the flashy uniforms. Maybe that's just me though.

Well s***to(if I may borrow that term). I was sure they'd take him, since their pen has sucked so much. Maybe we could ship him off to Boston or back to Toronto....one of those AL East teams who has a very s***ty pen. I really don't know about that comment though. I mean, 7 games is 7 games. It may seem like 3 games, because they can get cold at any time, but you still have to gain 7 games on them. If we gain 3 games a month, it is definately possible that we could win the division.

Does Mike Porzio have a breaking ball? It seems that all he did was mixup speeds of his pitches. He threw a lot of changeups and a lot of fastballs....and that's about it.
-
I know. Use him when he gets back, use Sanders in the meantime.

What the hell are you talking about? Detroit, Tampa Bay, and Cleveland are very tough teams!

Ozzie Smith played for the Sox??? No, I'm talking about Ozzie Osborn. Duh Ozzie's career stats -
That's exactly right. I just said that if they want to stand a chance, they need to add some pitching. Mota and Shuey would do it, and then to get Botch the hell out of here. I think the Yanks might be desperate enough to take Botch, and if we could get a good starter out of the whole thing(I think a Botch-for-Weaver deal, then a Weaver and Stewart-for-Lawrence deal could get done). That moves Wright to the pen, and we then use Marte and Wunsch as our lefties out of the pen, and if we want to use 12 pitchers, we bring up Diaz or Ginter to use out of the pen.

Was this kid born yesterday or something? Seriously, that kid has to bel ike 8 or 10 years old. I mean, I still remember Ozzie's stellar defense, and I'm 16. -
I'm just waiting for HSC to tell you two to go to your corners Any minute now....

Be safe, and let's hope the Sox can go on a winning streak for you!
-
Is that what you were going to say?

The Royals next 6 games are against Oakland and Seattle, they then play Detroit, and then Minnesota, before they host the Sox to a 3-game set in KC. That will be the ONE time I will root for Minnesota this year. During that same stretch, we have Detroit, Cleveland, Toronto, and Tampa. I hope we play a little better during that stretch then we did this past one. I think Minny plays the same teams KC does, except Detroit.

We have a weak ass bullpen and a deep(but usually ineffective) offense, espeically our OFers and 1Bman. The Dodgers have a strong bullpen, but a weak offense, especially LF and 1B. I would do a Lee, Konerko, Ginter, and White deal(if they'd do it....I'd give them a different arm if they don't take White) for Mota and Shuey....while taking on part of Kong's salary. Lee takes over in LF, Konerko at 1B, and Ginter and White or whoever we give them fills in the bullpen spots. Shuey and Mota are f***ing awesome and would fill in quite nicely. I'd then send Koch to New York and get Jeff Weaver, who I'd then package up with a decent prospect or two, or maybe Dan Wright, for Brian Lawrence. New York gets an arm for the pen, San Diego get Weaver and Wright for next year, and we get Brian Lawrence, who is a better starting pitcher then Dan Wright. This team could still use a lot of work, but it is definately possible to win the division. KC just has to stop f***ing winning every game.

We drafted him as an OFer. He doesn't have a major league fastball. If I remember correctly, he hits high 80s on the gun...and that's not good enough unless you have incredible control. However, an 88 MPH throw in from the OF is very good, and he's got pretty good power as well.
-
Ken Rosenthal's got a damn good point... link A lineup that has Beltran, Sweeney, Ibanez, and Gonzalez? That's a pretty good f***ing lineup.
-
There is a possibility that, without Buehrle, this team doesn't compete these past two years and stay in it enough to keep a lot of these guys. Without ELo, we wouldn't be within 6 games of KC....it'd be more like 10-15 games out, if not more. We'd be in Cleveland and Detroit territory. So you can just shut the hell up. ELo and Buehrle have done just as much as Frank has in the past 3 years, if not more.
