  1. NCAA Football 2004. I just got it yesterday and it kicks major ass. The graphics, the gameplay, the depth of dynasty mode it's all ridiculously good. Buy NES games if you have money left over; I went through this NES stage last summer and it lasted about a week. All right, thanks for the advice. I was gonna get it eventually anyways.
  2. You can buy those on eBay too. What can't you buy on eBay?
  3. I'll take that first car in Cerb's post. And I'd take a Porsche 911 too, either silver or navy blue in color. I love the way that car looks. Also, at my age, I'd also like to have either a van(not a minivan.....I'm talking one of those big vans. I'd take out the back seats, and I think you know what I'd do back there ), or like a Chevy S-10 pickup.

    Kristanna Loken

    What the hell? No pic?
  5. Oh man, I'm getting all jittery inside remembering these games from renting them. I got about $70. Should I buy NCAA Football 2004 tomorrow, or should I buy a huge lot of NES games on eBay?
  6. The kid has filthy stuff, and had some very good numbers as a starter for the Cubs. I would take Cruz in a f***ing heartbeat. That kid could be f***ing awesome. A rotation of Loaiza, Buehrle, and Cruz for next year, with Garland and maybe Ponson in the end of the rotation? That's mouthwatering good.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Juan Gone want a long-term deal to the team he is dealt to? I am not so sure the Royals can do that without giving Texas Carlos Beltran. Beltran will be looking for like $10 mill a year, Sweeney is getting $10 mill a year, and Juan Gone will get $8-$10 mill a year as well. Then if they want to resign Jose Lima at the end of the year(I assume his deal is a one-year deal), that will cost them like $3 mill, Ibanez will eventually cost them some money....I mean, right now, assuming they picked up Juan Gone and signed him long-term(like 3 or 4 years), they are looking at a payroll of like $50-$60 mill for next year. Am I the only one who thinks that they will not acquire Juan Gone because he will not get a long term deal from KC?
  8. Technically, they filled a need. I personally don't think so. They were lacking a real leadoff hitter.....something we have been lacking this year as well. A guy with a good OBP who has good enough speed to steal quite a few bases. Jones can steal bases, but has absolutely no patience at the plate whatsoever(the best example of that is him in the ALCS last year....he was swinging at everything from his eyes to his ankles). He does have pretty good speed though, and has good power. He is a pretty good hitter, and this trade allows the Twinkies to drop him lower in the order....maybe to the #2, #5, or #6 slot in the order....which strengthens a lineup that does not have enough RBI guys. I figure this is also good for the team because it unclogs the OF somewhat. I figure the lineup they will put out now will resemble something to the extent of... Stewart - DH Jones - LF Koskie - 3B Hunter - CF Mientkiewicz - 1B Mohr - RF Pierzynski - C Guzman/Gomez - SS Rivas - 2B I figure that right now, with Jones on the DL, Stewart will take over in LF and Morneau will DH(and I'd venture to say that either Mientkiewicz or Pierzynski will take over the #2 slot with Morneau taking Mientkiewicz's or Pierzynski's spot, whoever moves up to the #2 spot), and if Koskie goes on the DL, Hocking will probably take over his spot, and you may see Mientkiewicz at 3B a little with LeCroy as the 1Bman occassionally. After doing all that....I still don't see why the Twins made this trade. JP just pulled a Ritchie deal out of his ass. Kielty, with everyday playing time, will probably hit .275 25 80 15 and a .360 OBP and maybe an .850 OPS, not to mention that he is clutch as hell and somewhat versatile(can play all 3 OF spots as well as 1B)and the Jays will get that for like 4 more years. Meanwhile, Stewart will probably put up like .280 5 25 15 and a .375 OBP and an .800 OPS, and then be gone after this year. Minny just got robbed. All I can do is
  9. I think I'm gonna have to dig out the NES here before you know it and buy some more games, as well as playing some of the lik 20 I have now. The NES is the greatest system ever. I think I will take 2 video game systems to college, my XBox, and my NES.
  10. How about Carlos "By land, by sea" Baerga? Berman is definately a homer.
  11. Guardado blows. You will not change my mind on that. I don't care what his numbers are. I've seen him pitch a ton, and his stuff is mediocre and should be hammered constantly. The only thing he can do is change arm slots, and anyone can do that. He's better then Koch though.
  12. I've got to ask, if we fired Manuel, why not take a "risk" and hire Backman? He seems to be able to take teams that look like s*** and turn them into winners(Birmingham is around .500 this year with very little offense, right?). He has a winning record, albeit in the minors, but he plays winning baseball, and he'd be cheap.
  13. Well what would you rather have, a guy that blows games and throws 96-98, or a guy that blows games and throws 88-90? I'll tell you who I'd rather have. Someone else.
  14. So should I change my name to TheBigHurtBENAUGHTY now? No, HeatherLeeBENAUGHTY And then you have to put BE NAUGHTY after every post.
  15. Say Heather, you should post "BE NAUGHTY" and not "BE BAD" BE NAUGHTY just as so much more character, more flavor, more life...."BE BAD" just doesn't have that virgin kick.
  16. Here's a little info on the intellivision Intellivision
  17. It is the same here. Too many good games to remember.....all fun as hell
  18. You know what's a f***ing travesty? Eddie Guardado being there. Guardado has sucked big time this year. Don't let his stats fool you. He and Hawkins have b****ed about their contracts and the fact that Terry Ryan will not make extend their contracts or something like that. Ever since those two did that, the Twins have been losing. Hunter should be there just for his defense, let alone that fact that his numbers are very similar to those of Carl Everett.
  19. Uh, sorry, but no. Mark is the #2 starter on our staff. You cannot deny Loaiza's numbers. He has clearly been better then MB. Not only that, but the matchups as well. A R-L-R rotation I think would be better, and that would put MB in the #2 spot.
  20. I think the only person that could hit it there would be Sosa. And that would be a, how do you put it, tampered home run. A home run that involves steroids and a corked bat? Hell, give me steroids and a corked bat and I'll say everything Sosa has as well.

    Ahem...

I don't think so. Koch was and always has been the type of guy who has just reared back and fired it like 96-98 MPH. He's just lost a s***load on his fastball. His curveball doesn't curve, his slider doesn't slide, and his changeup is weak s***. I could hit off of this f***ing guy.
  22. Uhhhhh..... BE GOOD son :fthecubs
  23. Do they sell NES systems that are still wrapped in the original packaging? That's what I'd want if I was going to invest in one -- I don't want one that's going to last a week. Also, Zelda II was an extremely fun game. The Adventures of Link I think was its title. I also liked Metroid. NES ruled!!! You mean this kind of thing? link Yeah, they have some new ones. Well, maybe not new, but refurbished ones. However, if possible, you would probably want to get it insured. I bought an XBox off of eBay, didn't get it insured(because I couldn't), and the first one I received did not work(I figure probably because it was in a box, and the box was thrown up onto the UPS truck, and then something broke inside). I got another one, and that one did work, and I'm happy. Not saying that kind of thing will happen(because NES's are much more durable systems then XBox's are....I've beaten the s*** out of my NES, and it works OK, considering it is like 13 years old).
