  1. He needs to come back. Anyone else notice that since he left, the Sox have been getting killed?
  2. He said he posts on here too much and that the mods should ban him. Then someone suggested to him to just stay off the board. I think he took their advice Also....if he comes back today, happy B-Day man
  3. Ya don't say? You know what that says to me? He is a s***ty ballplayer. He is lolly-gags around. What we need is a leadoff hitter. We still don't have one. Alomar is a s***ty leadoff hitter. I would rather have Willie Harris leading off then Robby Alomar. We need more team speed and good hitter-types, and less power, because the more power we get, the s***tier we get. We already have enough 25 homer guys....I want 1 or 3 more 25 steal guys and 1 or 2 more .310 average types, and we need to get rid of two or three of these s***ty .265 25 80 type guys. By my count....we have atleast 5 guys you could put in that category(Valentin, Lee, Konerko, Daubach, and Everett). The only three worth keeping are Valentin, Daubach, and Everett.....Valentin hits for a worse average then that, but he is actually pretty good defensively at SS(what's he have, like 12 errors or something? Compare that to Furcal's 20 or so, and even in that regard, he is good, not to mention he has a very strong arm and good range as well), and he is a very, very good baserunner, Daubach because he is a very good fundamental ballplayer, and he has a little versatility, and Everett because he can play all 3 OF spots adequately, and he can swipe a few bases as well. Lee and Konerko should be traded if we want any chance of winning, IMO.
  4. Some people are harder to tell how old they actually look because of a few things. I mean, one of my good friends is 15 or 16, and he's like 5'2''. Meanwhile, here I am at about 5'9'' or 5'10'', and he is a dwarf compared to me. And if you just looked at his face, you could easily mistake him for a 5th or 6th grader, and he is going to be a sophomore. I gotta ask though heads....how tall are you? Just curious
  5. I disagree. This team can play with the best. They just do something that we call playing down to the level of competition. We have a 1-2-3 that can be devastating to other teams, and an offense that can be one of the best in the league. Our bullpen blows though.
  6. You're right. I was thinking of the Twinkies.
  7. Ishmookie is just being a stupid little s***head, posting in threads that are old as hell, to pad his stats.
  8. The Sox aren't getting Tejada, and the A's aren't trying to trade Tejada. The A's offense has been weak all year long, so why would they trade the reigning AL MVP, especially when he has shown that he is a good second half player and can be a great player? There is no reason for it. If anything, we need to unload a few bats. Get rid of Lee or Konerko, or Lee and Konerko, and we are set. KW, or whoever the hell is running the show, did a vey bad thing in getting Everett. Added another decent power bat on a team that has too many as it is. Trade Lee to Baltimore or LA or somewhere, and get some bullpen help. That's the only thing we can do now.
  9. The Sox are 5 under at 44-49. A sweep of the Tigers would put us at 48-49, 1 game under .500. We are also 7 games back. If KC is swept, we are 3 games back. If KC loses 3 of 4, we are 4 out. They split, we are 5 out....etc. I think you get the picture. I'm about ready for Colon to just blow the f***ing Tigers away tonight. I'm sick of this horses*** organization and their way of playing down to the competition. There is no f***ing reason this team isn't 15 games over .500 right now. We've seen how this team can play(their stretch against the Cubs and Twinkies). I gotta think that Manuel, going into the DRays series, said something like "OK, these guys are worse then our AAA team, let's just go f*** around and dick around, and see if we can make it interesting." There is nothing else I can think of for why we would lose 5 of 6 to the worst teams in the AL.
  10. It may not take 90 games to win the division? How about it won't take 90 games to win the division? Minny is royally(no pun intended for the Royals or anything) f***ed, and KC will not win 90 games. 75-80 wins could possibly win the division, which would be a damn shame. I just wanna go out there and win some more games, and hopefully win 80-90. Anything in that neighborhood, and I'm happy. This team is so f***ing unpredictable it is laughable. I think you can credit the manager with that :finger
  11. The White Sox are "just losers"? I'd rather be a "loser" then a "choker." (cue for the Atlanta Braves to come in, who have won something like 11 straight division titles and have only 1 World Championship. That, in my book, is to be considered a choker. Any team....even the sCrUBS....could win 1 World Series in 11 years if they got to the playoffs every year in that period of time) This guy is a dips*** I will watch the Twins kick the Braves ass again in the 1991 World Series on our videos tonight, and laugh at this dumbf***er. I will laugh when I watch Kirby Puckett take Charlie Liebrandt(I think) deep in the bottom of the 11th of game 6. I will laugh when I see Dan Gladden stretch a single into a double in game 7, and I will laugh when I see Gene Larkin end it with a long flyball to left-center field that isn't caught, and seeing Gladden hop in the air and celebrate. I will laugh even harder when I see Kent Hrbek push Ron Gant off of 1B and take him out. I could also say something incredibly offensive about how this guy can go f*** his sister.....but I won't.
  12. Ouch. Truth hurts sometimes, doesn't it? Hits you in the face like a bunch of bricks. Guardado blows. Their best pitcher is Johan Santana, and if Lohse can ever figure s*** out, he's not bad either. His June ERA of like 11.35 wasn't that good though.
  13. I disagree. I hate them both, and more importantly, I hate Fox. The only thing Fox is good for is the Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, Oliver Beene, and for the time they were on, Family Guy and Futurama. Now I have Cartoon Network and TBS for those two. I believe Fox's contract with MLB ends in 2006, and I remember hearing a blip somewhere sometime about how MLB might make a channel of their own or something and then have the ASG and WS on that channel only. That would kick some serious ass. All that channel would be is baseball....that would be killer. I doubt it happens, but it would be neat if it did.
  14. Can we stop bringing up posts from last year?
  15. HOLY s***....quote of the week will be back shortly
  16. And the proper way of saying it is.........My Friend and I watching the Sox get swept by the Tigers... When the Sox are getting swept by the Tigers, you don't consider grammar. Duh
  17. Because they don't know how to pitch with a torn labrum and a f***ed up elbow. They're not preparing properly. I mean, weight lifting? Creatine? What the hell is that s***? The only way to be a great pitcher and throw 464 innings is to drink a lot of beer. Duh
  18. Agreed. That's also way Gil Heredia was signed. The only thing KW deserves credit for is for trading for Colon.
  19. Holy s***, we have a tough ass schedule right after the break. Detroit, Cleveland, Toronto, and Tampa Bay? We've f***ed!
  20. The numbers don't lie? If I remember correctly, how about his like 3.30 ERA in his first 10 starts of 2002? If you want a good example of a guy that put it all together later on in his career, you only have to look at the ace of our staff. He's, what, 31? And he has put up some sick numbers. 11-5 with like 16 quality starts? A 2.21 ERA....the guy could easily be like 14-2 or 15-1, or even better. He lost 1-0 to the Tigers twice, got a ND against LA(his second worst start of the year....in that start, he was not feeling well at all, and still only gave up 3 ER in 5 IP....that was just when we were getting going....he could have easily won that game), we could have beaten the DRays in his start.....and there are numerous other starts that I'm not even thinking of. There was only one game that he truly deserved the loss, and that was his game against Seattle. Cruz is like 24 or 25, and he has killer stuff. He doesn't put it together, we got ourselves another Esteban Loaiza. He does.....and we have a wicked nasty rotation.
  21. I'm pretty sure Thames was traded to Texas for Ruben Sierra
  22. Not to mention the lowest career ERA ever. 1.82? No one will ever touch that. There were some great pitchers that could do that in a season....but over a career? No chance.
  23. Agreed wholeheartedly. I would take Kielty over almost every Sox player offensively, with the possible exceptions of Maggs and Frank. And yes, he does look a lot like Mickey Mantle. Mantle had blonde hair though, didn't he?
