  1. not a damn thing You asked for it, so.....
  2. This how I see a lineup in 2005-2006 Catcher-Olivo and Rivera 1st- Borchard 2nd-Harris SS-Lopez 3rd-Crede RF-Maggs CF-Anderson or Reed LF-Anderson or Reed. This lineup might not happen till 2006 or 2007 but this what i see in the future. 2005 and 06 is too far ahead to project anything. We could have several players gone to FA or trades by then. Don't even try
  3. They have plenty of good arms, like Cruz and Beltran in the minor leagues, to take over as closer. I'm sure they could find a replacement for Joe.
  4. I consider Gordon the closer, not Koch. Trading Rowand to the Cubs is perfect. Get a good arm for the pen not named Alfonseca from the Cubs(Borowski works), and we then have a Borowski-Marte-Gordon trio to end games. Looks good on paper, and we lose hardly anything.
  5. I think that MLB should just let this go. If we as fans are smart enough to figure out a way to do this and want our man in there that much, then they should just give us the privelege to do whatever the f*** we want to.

    FARTS...

I was just gonna do that too!
  7. They actually did think ahead for once...but let's just see how it plays out. It is a smart thing to do. See how they gel in a month of playing together(or till about July 25th when Texas's deadline is), which leaves them 6 days to see if they need to add another piece to the puzzle....and I think they'll need to get another releiver or two.
  8. If he cuts down on his swing maybe. He needs to shorten it up. His swing is longer then hell. Joe B has light tower power.....but if you can only show it off every now and then, what's the point? With the swing he had when he came up, he would have hit like .220 25 50 tops. He cuts down on his swing, and those numbers will increase dramatically.
  9. Don't forget Belle for the short time we had him.
  10. Giles has played CF before....I've seen him in highlights playing CF. Not sure how good he is in CF though. As for his no-trade clause....he apparently will invoke it for the Twins and he will also invoke it for us. We tried to get him along with Ritchie.....and we couldn't, because he would have invoked the clause. Now that I've seen this, I can confidently say that this guy is not the guy in our mindblowing deal. Why would we need ANOTHER OFer? We already have atleast 6 guys on our major league roster that can play OF, and 8 if you include Valentin and Graffy(I don't, but they can).

    FARTS...

No actually, you posted about taking a s***. There is a difference. Just don't worry about it. Ever hear someone say "don't sweat the small stuff" ?
  12. You just go ahead and do it. I thought I knew a thing or two about computers. Maybe I need to read Automated Voting for dummies or something?
  13. Take it one game at a time. Anything can and will happen
  14. Good article, and aside from the DJ part, I agreed with it all. I'd much rather acquire Al Levine or Guerillmo Mota right now over Miguel Tejada or Ken Griffey Jr. I say we trade two fringe prospects to Tampa for Levine or trade Lee/Konerko(if they take Konerko, do it....if not, move Lee) to LA for Mota. We can then trade for a starter, which moves Wright to the pen, and if we can get rid of Koch, do it. I'd love to see what a pen that has Gordon closing, Marte and Mota setting up, Wright as the swingman, Wunsch as the LOOG as soon as he comes off the DL, and Felix Diaz as just another arm in the pen. You get rid of our deadweight....White, Koch, and Glover.....and we could have a damn good bullpen.
  15. He only slits your throat? I'd come in and kick all their asses anyways. They wouldn't stand a chance.
  16. They could do us a favor by trading for Carlos Beltran(making KC an offer that they can't refuse). KC would then be good in the future, but we are probably done after this year anyways. KC is in first place. They are not trading Beltran. Their GM(Allan Baird, I think?) said that Beltran is available, but at a very steep price. He said he is not necessarily looking at only the present but also the future of the club. Hypothetically, if we were rebuilding and we were 5 games above .500 at the ASB, and our big star who is looking to earn big bucks is a hot commodity.....yadda yadda yadda, same situation as the Royals.....and you get a trade offer of Juan Cruz, Angel Beltran(I think is that kid's name in the minors for the Cubs who is lights out) and Bobby Hill, along with some cash, would you take it? It will upset a lot of fans, but I probably would. That's kind of the situation he is in. He isn't going to trade him for a sack of marbles and a back of potato chips. However, if he gets a truly great offer, he will deal him. That's where I hope the Cubs come into play.
  17. I'm thinking a 3-team deal would have to be worked out to keep us from getting ripped off royally again. That is, unless you want to keep Wright in the rotation. I would take a Kong, Lee, Glover, and White for Mota and Quantrill deal....but then our rotation stays like it is, unless we also deal Wright in the process, or we go with a 12-man pitching staff, and I don't like that idea, because we then can't keep all of our good bats at the big league level. I say if we can get Mota for Konerko, then do it in a heartbeat.
  18. They could do us a favor by trading for Carlos Beltran(making KC an offer that they can't refuse). KC would then be good in the future, but we are probably done after this year anyways.
  19. Boredom will do some crazy s*** to you, huh?
  20. You don't always have to give a 3-0 take because that pitch can also be a get me over fastball down the middle of the plate. You'd never give the take sign 3-1 because then it's a full count and you have to now protect the plate and your chance of striking out rises greatly because you will be expanding your zone. 3-1 and 2-0 pitches are the best pitches to hit in baseball That's true. Bobby Kielty is a great 3-0 hitter.
  21. I wouldn't mind seeing Yofu, Diaz(assuming he isn't traded), or Ginter with the Sox.
  22. Manuel obvoiusly felt that not doing anything was the best move. If Miguel gets a sac fly, it is the best thing, because we still have Maggs on the bench and a fresh catcher as well. I don't think he did anything wrong. At the very least, you expect your players to be able to do a simple task like that. Hindisight is always 20-20. It's over and done with. Who cares anymore?
  23. Damn, I hope he can come back from this.
  24. I take it that is mainly our starting pitching, correct? Have you seen our bullpen pitch, or have you seen our bullpen's stats? We've had two pitchers in the pen be good all year, those two being Marte and Gordon. Koch has hardly been able to hit 93, let alone the 97 or 98 we were promised, White has, for the most part, sucked, Glover has gotten little work in, and Wunsch has been on the DL for some time now. The offense is starting to come around, and if we could get Mota for the pen for Lee, it would then put Everett in LF(where he is not only more comfortable defensively, but that is where he has put up his best offensive numbers as well), and it gives us a much improved OF defense. I am really starting to love CLee...but if we could get a good arm for him, it's worth trading him.
  25. You give the take sign on 3-0 because you have a strike to work with. Simple as that. You don't give the take sign on 3-1 because sometimes, especially with rookie pitchers, they will have a tendency to throw get-me-over pitches....and they take like 5-10 MPHs off. If you get a fat pitch down the heart of the plate to any MLB player, and it goes a long ways. It's just unfortunate that we couldn't score. And at that point, it is a tough call. Do you want to put Maggs into the game at that time, have him get a sac fly, then have the next person(I believe it was Alomar) possibly hit into a DP or whatever happened. You would then have Maggs gone for the rest of the game(unless you sub him into the game), have Sandy come in, and then see your bullpen give up 2 more runs. It is 3-1 at that point, and Sandy leads off the 9th, and odds are, he doesn't turn on that pitch like Maggs does...or you do a double switch and Sandy takes the place of Lee. Hindsight is always 20-20. Just leave it like it is, because that's how it happened.
