  1. DJ not only had little range, but he was unhappy in San Diego if I've heard and remember correctly about not knowing where he was going to play. Maybe Ugly can help me out on that, but I seem to recall something along the lines of that.
  2. A .285 20 46 season is well worth an All-Star appearance. Especially considering he is 3rd in the league in OPS
  3. Goddamn KW. Do your homework you piece of s***
  4. I don't know about you guys, but I would gladly take Guerillmo Mota(I just slaughtered his first name) for Lee straight up. That then moves Everett to LF, where he's more comfortable, and we can then move someone else into CF. I kind of knew that when we got Everett, we would go back to the way we were hitting before.
  5. Definately some interesting results there. It's kind of funny how the Cubs have everything so "good" and we have everything so "bad", yet, we are, as a team, actually better then them. I also find it funny how Chicago can be on both the best and worst cities to play in list. Best living player? I'd have to say Willie Mays.
  6. He's a rookie. He's not necessarily going to hit as well as we want him to. Any offensive production we get from him, minus sac flies, sac bunts, and those type, is a bonus. His grand slam against the Cubs....a bonus. His homer against I think Oakland this year....a bonus. We have him mainly for his defense/arm. Man, does he have an arm.
  7. Anybody have Shigetoshi Hawegawa's numbers handy? Kind of disappointed he made it over Damaso. Then again, "Everybody hits" Eddie Guardado definately did NOT deserve to make it. Corey Koskie or AJ the asshole Pierzynski would have been better then Guardado. Guardado has gotten lit up like a candle this year. No one deserves to go to the All-Star game if you give up a homer to Paul Konerko anyways. Man that game was fun. Also....Everett getting in over Frank is BS. Frank has better numbers. And I don't see Harold Reynolds love fest with Roger Clemens getting to play in the All-Star game. He's 8-6 with a 3.75 ERA....good numbers, but not All-Star worthy numbers. I don't care if he won his 300th game or if it is his last year. He does not deserve to be there with those numbers. I wouldn't be opposed to him being there as a guest to just sit in the dugout, but come on....jeezus.
  8. Wow. Had a good BDay, went to the beach, played some beach football, came home, watched some TV, went out for dinner, I opened my presents(got some jean shorts, 3 XBox games, and a bigger stand for my TV/VCR/XBox) and I had a lot of fun. My sunburn started to come in around the time I was watching TV....and it hurts like a b****. My shoulders have been burning since about 6:00 PM yesterday, I'm sore as hell, I hurt my elbow diving for a ball yesterday(though that isn't so bad anymore), and my whole upper body, except for my forearms, are dark pink. I even sunburned my ankles and feet. But atleast I got rid of my farmer's tan! Also....it appears I got a present from the majors....Sox won, Twins lost, Cubs lost....only thing that could have made it better was the Yankees losing, the Royals losing, and Frank making it in without having to do this ballot 32nd man s***.
  9. Yeah, he said he's sticking by Manuel all year, and if the Sox don't make the playoffs, Manuel gets the axe.
  10. My zipcode for that was something like kljlkjilj or something like that.
  11. Why in the world would they get Burnitz? They need pitching. If the offense doesn't produce, especially the OFers, that is just too damn bad. They have like 6 or 7 OFers in their system that could be good major league hitters(in fact, off the top of my head....Hunter, Jones, Kielty, Mohr, Cuddyer, Restovich....that's pretty damn good). If they traded for Burnitz, they would look like idiots. What they need to do is trade some of those OFers for some starting pitching to even stand a chance. If they acquire Ponson, then I'll get a little scared. Then again, that then moves Radke to the pen....having Radke and Mays in the same pen? Sounds like a blast. The only place they could really improve offensively is 2B....because Rivas blows....and the only guy that is available is Luis Castillo, or I suppose they could use Chris Gomez too. As soon as the offense kicks in, we are going to get pretty hot....because that's what happened against the Cubs and Twinkies....and if we get any bullpen help at all...............
  12. Can't we all just be friends?
  13. I just voted like 150-200 times.
  14. Well Sweeney might not be able to play, so someone will have to replace him. Let's hope it is Thomas that does it and not Giambi.

  16. Hey, would you look at that! Thanks for the presents! Kind of weird how a guy can get two favorite teams that are that out of the blue, and that both teams haven't won anything period, or they haven't won anything in a long time. Atleast my favorite basketball team as a kid(8-12....that age period) was the Bulls.
  17. The way that was worded, it sounds like it. And it wouldn't surprise me if that's true. Look at what happened in NY...he goes from Cleveland and hits .336 on a division winner to going to NY and hits .266 on a last place team. Coinincidence? I think not. However, right now, I assume he realizes he is in a good situation, and he will produce....or so I hope.
  18. Roman, this is what you said Ya wanna make a bet?
  19. Then you can forget any talk of the playoffs. We play two decent teams in July (Toronto and KC) and since TB, Detroit, and Cleveland are largely fan free this season, I guess it is to be expected now that the White Sox will save their intensity for series against Seattle, Oakland, Anaheim, and the Yankees in September . We should be 10 games out at least by the end of this month simply because the White Sox need packed houses and city/division rivals to be intense and competitive. Hey, let's hope they pull their heads out of their asses and they finally decided to beat some s*** teams
  20. I want to see how this team plays against good teams....like the Mariners, A's, Yanks, Red Sox, or whoever else.
  21. Maybe I am missing something here, but those look like damn good numbers. Did you forget to slap some green on those, or were you being totally serious?
  22. I agree. You had to know that they were going to let up a little intensity wise though.
  23. Duh, we take a hit defensively to get better offensively. Common sense? I think so. He did NOT downgrade the bullpen in these trades. Nice try though. Coming into the season, the bullpen looked like it was going to be very good. Then Koch failed to hit 97...and 95....and now, he ever so rarely hits 93. White got lit in June, and Glover hasn't worked in what seems like 30 games. But on the contrary, Gordon has been better then we could have wanted, Marte has been lights out, and when Wunsch has pitched, he has been pretty damn good as well. Anyone could have gotten doubled up there. He misread the ball off the bat, but I'd rather have him misread it like he did instead of killing us in a game like Jimenez did against Minnesota, not scoring on that hit to RF. He thought the ball was hit harder then it was, and he was off towards home. If that ball is hit a little harder, it falls in and he scores. That's aggressive baserunning, and in my book, that's fine. Jimenez would not have been doubled off on that one, and that is not alright in my book. Well, we did get the best lefty in the league from Pittsburgh, and Ruddy Yan could be traded in the Everett deal. Everett and Marte is about the same as Wells and Fogg in my book. They're close enough. It never will be. I would rather have Frank of old hitting up there and fielding s***ty then having the Frank that hits .270 as a DH with weaker power numbers up there and having a good defensive 1Bman. He has 10 errors....compared to the average SS in the league, he is actually pretty good. Angel Berroa in KC has 19. I think Tejada is also over 15, as well as Furcal. He also has very good range and he and Alomar form the best DP combo in the league. Can you tell me how many people can turn that DP they did in the first inning? I'd have to say, excluding those two, the number is around 0. You have fun watching the Bears. I'd rather watch the Sox win a few games and see if they can't win the division.
  24. Then again, Jim Parque didn't(and still doesn't and never will) have good stuff like Neil Cotts. Cotts stuff is filthy.
