  1. It's not that big a deal. We're all grown-ups here, and we(or atlesat I) won't go telling on anyone. I promise.
  2. And how many players DO produce a ring? In the past 10 years, 6 teams have won a World Series. That is 6 out of 28 or 30(depending on what time period you look at). We have produced a lot of good ones....like a lot of other farm systems.
  3. I have no predictions. Let's just see how it plays out and not predict anything.
  4. I don't think Danny would get lit in a relief duty simply because he can throw it a little harder. As a starter, he has to conserve his arm a little bit so as to not get tired to early as a starter. As a reliever of any kind, the most you'll probably ever work is 4 innings, and that's in mop-up duty. In a close game, 2 innings is probably all you'll throw. I think Danny would make a great reliever....but maybe that's just me.
  5. Something Beane does that doesn't always work is the fact that he just goes by the numbers. That's why he felt Cotts was expendable, or so I assume. With a lot of walks, his stats looked bad, because his W-L was not there, and the innings were not there. If Cotts gets some control, he could be one hell of a starter some day. Then again, when you have Mulder, Hudson, and Zito in your rotation, you can pretty much trade any starter in your minor league system.
  6. Seriously....who voted for Maggs?
  7. I'd make this deal if it were Koch and Stewart for Weaver. No way do I want to give them Cotts or Gordon. Let's settle for the lesser of the two things, and get Weaver. I really actually do not want Weaver....but if we could get rid of Koch, I'd be all for it.
  8. There's one problem with Rick Vaughn that I should have made more clear. THAT WAS A MOVIE....NOT REAL LIFE. You can't blame the offense for this loss. There is one person to blame...Billy Botch. The offense scored more runs than the DRays, in large part to Bartolo shutting them down and two guys getting big hits offensively. It is then Botch's turn to come and shut the DRays down, the BOTTOM OF THEIR ORDER, which should not be that hard. He just needed to get 2 more guys out after he got Tyner out. He could not do that against one of the WORST teams in the league. What's going to happen when he faces a real team? And that was Crawford's second homer of the year? If you're telling the truth....that means that both of his homers have been walk-off 3-run homers. The other came on opening day against the Red Sox.
  9. I wish I could Billy Botch alone, but I can't. I gotta think it would probably be a starter or two fromt he minors, and probably a good hitter. A deal of Rauch, Wright/Garland, and Daubach could probably get it done. We'd be giving up way too much. I'd much rather just trade Koch, and bring Felix Diaz up(assuming Texas doesn't take him) and use him out of the pen. It would be a much better option then trading for Percival and Donnelly, IMO. We have the arms in the minors, it's just a matter of the team using them at the major league level.
  10. Wright is ineffective because he does not have good control of his pitches. He walks a ton of people. I could see where him being a closer could work out...but then again, he could be just like Koch of last year. Walk the first guy, give up a hit to the next, and get out of it. I don't want that from my closer. It'd be worth a shot though. He does have good stuff.

They had no longevity. Obviously, because of Kobains death. Damn, they were good, though. What could have been.

Nirvana was pretty f***ing good. Smells like teen spirit is one of my favorite songs.
  14. I may offend someone with this, but who cares. IF you look past the very next game, and start projecting what will or can happen, youre a f***ing moron. Life is lived in this moment, not the next. I might not go as far as calling them a f***ing moron, because I sometimes like to speculate just for the hell of it, and by calling them a f***ing moron, I'd be calling myself a f***ing moron....anyways, I agree. Anything can and will happen. No one here knows yet if we'll be sitting home watching the Royals or Twins in the playoffs, or if we'll be watching the Sox. No one knows that if we are watching the Sox, what will happen. It's just too damn hard to project. What I want to do is I want to beat the DRays in this series. How's that? I just get pissed when i see this 9-0 prediction s***, just cuz we are playing weaker teams. IT DOESNT MATTER. BE HAPPY with 6-3, jesus. I have seen it many times, and now i can attest to it with my own personal experience. Life offers NO guarantees. NOTHING. You can be on top of the world one day, and at the bottom the next. What counts is how you react to each. Just let the sox win a game and lose a game, without your world of life depending it.......and PLEASE dont count wins, just cuz we are playing so and so.........thanks. Agreed. I don't think there is anything else I can add.
  15. Killa....I agree with you. One little note....Foulke's ERA was near 1.00 the second half of last year....it was 0.74 IIRC. Also, Koch's contract was a 2-year, $10 mill deal. Nice f***ing move KW. Let's convert him into a starter!

  17. Sad thing is, if he can't close a game, what is he gonna be setting up? If, hypothetically, we were leading 3-1 after 7 and a half tonight, and JM brought Botch in to set-up the bottom of the 8th facing the same batters he faced tonight, we go into the 9th, at the very least, tied. Botch would still only have 1 out and would be facing "the meat" of the D-Rays order (Baldelli, Huff, and..... if one of them gets on..... Grieve). All Botch will be doing is setting up Gordon or Marte for the win. At this point, I don't want JM giving Botch the ball with anything less than a 4-run lead. End of story. I don't want him setting up s*** until whatever hitch, injury, or other intangible is ratified. That's what I would figure too. I guess as a setup guy though, there is less pressure. Then again, I see no pressure in getting the bottom of the DRays batting order out. I'm not sure anyone knows anymore.
  18. I agree wholeheartedly. However, going 9-0 was not out of the question. I was not expecting to go 9-0, and no one should. At the very least, we should win, or get enough wins to, win every one of these series(or in other words, go 7-3, because I believe our series against Cleveland is a 4-game series with a double-header on Saturday. Will be sweet as hell if we sweep them, especially if KC and Minny lose....gain 1.5 games in one night.). Take it one at a time though. Beat Tampa today and tomorrow, then beat the Tigers, and then the Indians.
  19. Do you mean Tom Gordon or Damaso Marte? Both could be pretty closers. I wouldn't mind this constant failure as much if he could hit 95 or 96 on the gun like he was supposed to be able to do it. It seems like he has let up, kind of like Rick Vaughn in Major League 2. I wish he would just f***ing throw the ball. 88-91 isn't gonna cut it as a closer.
  20. Especially the bottom 3rd of their batting order. JM said in a postgame interview broadcast on the SCORE, "We'll (the Organization) have to see if there is a better spot to bring Billy in"..... or something to that effect. WHAT THE f*** DOES THAT MEAN?" What spot, if I may ask all here, is better to bring your "closer" into than the bottom 3rd of the D-Rays order? JM sounds like a moron more-and-more everytime he opens his mouth. I think it means Koch just lost his closer's role tonight. By a better time, I assume he means he'll be used as a setup man, and not a closer, from now on....or atleast until he can improve himself.
  21. OK, who the hell voted for Maggs?
  22. Uh, hello? We drafted Ringer AS a closer out of San Diego State. We will get compensation draft picks for most of these guys. All we have to do is offer them arbitration. If they accept, we have them next year. If they decline, we get good draft picks. We could have 10-14 first round and sandwich picks this year....ATLEAST. In all actuality, we could have like 16 draft picks. That's probably not happening, but 10 is almost guaranteed if we do offer arbitration to a lot of these guys. Can you explain to me how he hit .300 as a lefty in a situation where he was not comfortable then? Apparently, hitting .300 when you are in a situation you do not like is s***ty. Let's see, assuming the Sox do some things smart next year....the rotation could very well be Loaiza, Buehrle, Garland, Wright, Rauch/Stewart. What's wrong with that rotation? Buehrle's not a FA until 2006, and assuming we pick up Loaiza's option, we have him next year too. We could also resign Colon, but that would take up a ton of money. Resigning Colon is a big ? in my mind. Thank you Captain Obvious. I didn't know that
  23. It's actually a good plan, in theory. If we win, we can reward some of these players with good contracts and we get them back next year, and hopefully weompete more, we get more public interest, and we become the thing in Chicago once again. We also win a lot and stay competitive. If we lose, we offer a lot of these guys arbitration, if they accept, we have them back next year, if they don't, we get compensation picks. We get loaded up on great prospects and the rest of what you said will work out. I'm shocked. The Chicago White Sox actually have a f***ing clue
