  1. That's a lot of f***ing posts. I thought I had a lot of posts, and I got here in like November.
  2. All I know is that our really good position prospects that will be All-Stars for years and years in a row are Reed and Webster....and Borchard, if you count him. Otherwise, I am f***ing clueless.
  3. You talk to rocks? Nah, I'm just messing around. I mean, if I could get a girl that has everything like that....that'd be killer. I actually think that having a girl you can talk to and get to know well and just not feel weird having a conversation with is the girl you should go out with....not necessarily the girl that you can go brag to all your friends about if/when you f*** her. And, personally, what pisses me off is how girls my age are doing s*** with upper-classmen. I swear that I could just f***ing slap them all. I don't think that a freshmen going out with a sophomore is all that bad....or a sophomore going with a junior....but when you get a freshmen with a senior....that s*** bugs me like no other. I will tell you one thing, I couldn't be that senior. It would just feel to weird being with a girl 3 years younger then me, unless I was just talking to her.
  4. If we could get that guy, that'd be the s***. Odds are, from what I understood the clip saying, he will most likely be, at worst, the second pitcher taken in the draft. It'll take a miracle-and-a-half to get this guy. He'd probably look good in a Sox uniform....and we need front of the rotation prospects, because the closest thing we have to one of those is Honel....and he is in A ball.
  5. That'd be funny and cool as hell if JR hired you guys as a dual GM....it'd be cheap for him, and you guys would be smoking some fine Cubans. And then you'd get to run the White Sox. Everyone would be happy....JR would not have to pay a lot....you guys would be getting a ton....and we'd actually have some people with a f***ing clue running the team.
  6. This will (hopefully) work out perfectly. Clemens kicks the Scrubbies ass on Saturday, and he makes them cry like little b****es, and then they face us, they are still crying, and we make them our b****es! Win all 6 this year! Salvage some pride!
  7. OldRoman said: "This team sucks" My reply....thank you Colonel Obvious(because Maggs is already Captain Obvious)
  8. Two words. f*** no. Yeah, I'd probably say f*** no too. I just figured that a 5-for-5 deal was big, and I thought I'd point it out.
  9. I think it's a big ass f***ing trade
  10. It means in my opinion....I think it stands for in my humbled opinion, but that could be wrong. IMO is essentially the same thing as IMHO
  11. It would have been a perfect day had Buehrle gotten the win, like he should have. Our f***ing bullpen blew the game....that's unacceptable. At this point....if something like that happens....that player(in this case, Tom Gordon) should be benched/traded. Instead, with this s***ty ass organization, he'll probably come into the same role tomorrow or whenever we play next.
  12. Woman: "I'm pissed as hell. I'm going through PMS right now, under a lot of stress, I just wrecked the car, I poked my eye doing makeup, my boss fired me again, and the house looks like s***." Man: "Well then, let me grab your boobs and your ass. That will make you feel better." another highly doubtful situation.....lol but nice try i wanna be there when some chick says this to you and see what happens to you when you grab her ass.......i guarentee ya youll be walkin into a hospital emergecy room.......... Yeah I realize that. It was meant to be a joke. Seriously though....I want a girl that is everything I want. I want her to not only look good, but I want a good personality, a good sense of humor, and all that stuff. I guess I'm picky....and apparently, they are too!
  13. Is the fact that, even if you have given up hope, we gained ground on Minnesota. They are at San Fran, while we travel to Arizona. San Fran will whoop some ass, while Arizona has struggled all year. I just pray that we don't have to face Schilling. He would make our hitters into mincemeat....and then some. We'd look worse then little leaguers up there. Then we face LA....while I believe they play San Diego.
  14. You wouldn't catch the f***ing thing even if you tried! It's OK though....missed for a good cause, right?
  15. Last week I would have disagreed with you. Now, I agree. Retooling, or whatever you want to call it, sounds a whole lot more fun then "being a powerhouse." We have 1 of 2 options this year....either this team gets hot as hell in June and July, and they get back into the AL Central race(highly unlikely), or they trade off whoever's name isn't Magglio, Mark, Bartolo, Esteban, Joe, and Miguel, and get what they can....and there are exceptions to those rules. What I suggest we do is get some good talent for 2 or 3 guys here in June....get some speed, get some lefty power....and a prospect here or there. We then play it out until about late July. I kind of like the idea of trading Konerko to San Diego for Nevin....I'd do that now...then have Lee play 1B for the rest of the year, and then trade Rauch and Garland to Cinci for Adam Dunn....and if Cinci wants more....we could probably give them Wright/Stewart as well. It may be a lot of pitching we are giving up....but with an OF of Dunn, Borchard, and Maggs, from either left to right or right to left, is killer, and we add that lefty in the middle of our lineup. I'd trade Daubach to a team that needs an OFer/1Bman...and I'd ask for a solid prospect for him(maybe trade him to Florida once Lee is dealt). Who knows....with me as GM, this whole f***ing thing could look weird as hell by July.....but I guarantee one thing...our offense would be putting up some crooked numbers and our pitching staff would be throwing up some donuts on the scoreboard. I agree that right now, this team sucks ass. However, it is, IMO, early enough to salvage the season and possibly make a winner. We need to retool and revamp this offense...and we have to get it to work in a month and a half. And I hate to bring this up again....but do you think Oakland feels they are out of it, being 5 games back? Do you think Anaheim feels they are out of it, being 9.5 games back? Do you think Arizona feels they are out of it, being 8.5 games back? Once this offense gets going....we could be right back in it. Thing is....this offense is so one-dimensional....that when we get in a funk...we are f***ed. We need speed, and we need guys who do the little things. Period.
  16. I agree. I guess catchers are generally better managers because they handle the pitchers all the time and are so involved that they are kind of managing while they're playing. That does sound about right. They are involved offensively & defensively, and are involved with the pitchers as much as anyone. You know....I bet Cal Ripken would be a hell of a manager too.
  17. And, right now, I think we have a great 2-hole hitter. The problem is, he is hitting leadoff right now.
  18. If it's and but's were candy and nuts....we wouldn't be eating them anymore because we are sick and tired of eating them.
  19. You can always use more pitching prospects and take that to the bank. The Sox may have a lot of pitching prospects, but they don't have a lot of top/front of the rotation pitching prospects. Cotts, Rauch, and Honel are really the only guys that have front of the rotation potential, but from all of the scouting reports and minor league reports that I have read none of these guys have lights out stuff. They have good enough stuff that if they learn how to pitch they can become solid front of the rotation starters, but their stuff alone wont care them. You point at the lack of position prospects, and yes there are some weaknesses in the minors, but the same could be said with the pitching(at least the starters). Also keep in mind that a majority of the major league positions are currently being held by guys under 28(C, 1B, 2B, 3B, LF, CF, and RF). The Sox on the other hand have 2/5ths of the current rotation that could be gone by the start of next season, and have failed to develop any young pitchers that have proven to be consistant middle of the rotation starters at the least. So yes pitching prospects are needed and are always welcomed even if you have a lot of depth at that position. I hate to say this, but look at the Cubs, they are getting by with great starting pitching alone. Look at the majority of playoff teams and you will see they have one consistant simialrity, good pitching. Why did the Tribe never win the WS with their great teams in the 90's? Not enough pitching. The Sox have had a great offense the past couple of years and where has it gotten them? Texas and Cinncinati have similar problem. Great offenses and little pitching. Pitching is the sole reason that the A's compete every year although they are straped by financial limitations. Even the oldest saying in the book is pitching wins championships. Can you honestly look me in the eye and say that you think the Sox pitching is some of the best in the league and has no room for improvement, especially if they lose Colon and Loaiza before the start of next year? Didn't think so. The Sox should also look into getting catching, 1B, SS, and 3B prospects because they are weak at those positions in the minors, but top pitching prospects are always welcomed. Great post 61382....just something I'd like to add As a pitcher....knowing how to use their stuff is vital to a developing pitcher. I look at Lorenzo Barcelo as an example. Here is a kid that is the gem of the San Francisco farm system in the late 90s, and has lights out stuff....he's probably going to to be a top of the line starter within a few years because of his stuff alone. He then throws out his arm twice, and his career is basically done. He uses his stuff correctly....or in other words, not overthrowing everything....and he might still be pitching(or he might be at the major league level). What I'm trying to point out is that you said Honel, Rauch....who not...do not have great, top of the rotation stuff and that they need to be able to use their stuff very well...and I agree with that. As an exception to the rule there, you just look at Lorenzo Barcelo. The converse in this situation is also true....Lorenzo needed to be able to use his stuff accordingly to get to the top...he didn't, and he is essentially done with baseball as a profession.

    NBA FINALS

This will be fun. I have no favorite team in the NBA....only a team that I hate(the Lakers....sorry LA fans, if there are any in here....I have hated them for about 2 years now; the Bibby foul from game 6 last year pissed me off; game 2 or 3 of this year's playoffs against Minnesota pissed me off....it is quite obvious that they are paying off the refs). Anyways...I'll probably be cheering for the Nets. I really like Kidd. He's a hell of a player, and I think he deserves to win it. The Nets are the one exception in the world of sports where one trade turned a franchise around...and the trade was just a flip-flop of point guards. Crazy s***. Now I said trade, because as soon as I said one player, Michael Jordan popped into my head. Then again, his effect probably didn't take place for a couple years. Maybe Jason Kidd is the exception in that he turned the Nets around. I have no idea. Obviously, I am not a big NBA guy.
  21. Woman: "I'm pissed as hell. I'm going through PMS right now, under a lot of stress, I just wrecked the car, I poked my eye doing makeup, my boss fired me again, and the house looks like s***." Man: "Well then, let me grab your boobs and your ass. That will make you feel better."
  22. They are averaging less then 1 hit an inning between the two teams. 14 hits, 15.5 innings. Wow
  23. I wasn't really ripping the s*** out of you, lol. I just said I didn't think it would happen. CWSOX45 I know....I just find it funny that I say one thing and get to posts in a row disagreeing with me, both with different ideas. Ripping the s*** out of me probably wasn't the right terminology...but I still find it funny that I say one thing and get two totally different responses. I still think that'd be the s*** to get Harden and Dempster....and it's not like Dempster would be our ace either....he'd be more try and see how he does kind of guy. He most likely would suck ass....but if Harden comes in and is just as dominant or is more dominant then Mark Prior....no, f*** it....it wouldn't matter. Harden could throw a perfect game and Prior could win a game where he gave up 15 runs in 1 inning out of relief and he'd still get more coverage then Harden, because he's Boy Wonder.
  24. For some reason, pitching coaches are never good managers. When the Red Sox fired Jimy Williams, Joe Kerrigan was hired....and the Red Sox sucked after that. He's now with Philly. I don't know why....maybe because they are too into pitching to know about all the aspects of the game. I think former catchers as a whole make great managers. All you have to do is look around and you see a whole hell of a lot of catchers that are very good managers....Tony Pena, Mike Scoscia, Joe Torre(played the most games out of any position at catcher....if you consider him a good manager...I personally do not), Bob Brenly, Bruce Bochy is a decent manager, Ned Yost was a catcher as well. Also....Gene Lamont, who led us to two first place finishes in 1993 and 1994(for the 112 games or so that we played) was a catcher. That's why I feel that as soon as Sandy retires, we need to bring him back here ASAP. Also....leaders will make good managers....which is why I feel that Jose Valentin will be a good manager some day. JMHO anyways
