To a minor league contract, maybe. As others have said before....I'd MUCH rather see Ginter, Almonte, or Yofu up here rather then Acevedo or White....hell, I'd take Majewski over both of those guys.

Durham is a hell of a ball player. He is one of the better 2bman in the game. He and Jimenez bring the same on the field statistically....however, Ray is faster and strikes out a little more. I'd say as far as defense goes....they're probably the same, however, I'd say Ray is second to none as far as turning the DP goes. He is f***ing awesome at that. And he has a much better attitude and a better work ethic then DJ. However, at their prices, I'd probably rather have DJ. If we could have signed Ray for $5 mill or so....and only given Konerko $3 mill a year....who says we couldn't have gotten Colon?

Agreed.....assuming Thomas either figures out how to hit as a DH again, or he is off the team. The Twins infield defense is worse then it actually is. They thank Douggy M for a lot of their non-errors. But unless they flat out release him....we aren't getting him. I wouldn't mind signing him...and I'd actually pay about $2 mill for him. He's a very good guy in the clubhouse, he's got an OK bat(he can probably hit like .280 15 70 a year....JT Snow-esque numbers) and he has stellar defense(also JT Snow-esque). Also....it would be awesome to sign him....us getting back at the Twins, and Mientkiewicz getting back at them as well.

And here I was hoping that Manuel would bring Koch in to face Bonds.....see how far Bonds could hit it. In a related story...anyone know if that ball that Bonds hit off Percival last year in the World Series has landed yet?

And no one here is saying that Sandy isn't still valuable. He has only helped Miguel's development speed up.

LMFAO He is never gonna see the end of it....he will constantly be called Corky Sosa from now on, or something like that. Funny how karma works, isn't it? This piece of s*** is idolized by America, yet the only fans with any brains(White Sox fans) realize the harm he has done. He just goes through his career living a lie, and then "by mistake" picks up a corked bat, uses it and it breaks the first time he uses it, and because of it, no matter what he does or how much he says, his reputation will always be tainted. I bet all of his other stories will resurface now, like beating his wife, not going to a charity event because he couldn't get a free round-trip airplane, and wrongly spending charity money on his family. If anyone in baseball deserved for this to happen to him, it was Sosa.

You guys graduated from 8th grade? I never graduated from 8th grade. All I did was go to school, f*** around the whole day, have a speech by the principal at the end of the day, get our yearbooks, and then either leave or go down to the football field and meet with a bunch of our friends and sign yearbooks. Then we got our report cards. That's about it. I never really considered it a graduation. BTW....$3000? My sister got $500 for graduating from high school. How in the hell did you get $3000 for graduating from 8th grade? Just curious

PK wasn't whining, he sucks right now, and Thomas is ripping the cover off the ball. PK should not be bashed for calling out Thomas last year, he was doing the right thing by calling him out for being a s*** teammate and showing up late for a game and he did not call him out for playing s***ty, PK is overpaid, moreso then anyone on the team....his past performances are worth probably about $5 mill tops. You can never predict something like this happening though. I think I summed it all up from what I can tell, IMO. If you want me to go into more detail, just let me know.

I was watching the Twinkie game(Rockies up 4-0...sweet)....and I saw on the bottomline thingy that the Giants were winning 2-0...and I just kind of said to myself "I wonder how far Bonds hit it this time." The only positive that comes out of this....it helps my fantasy baseball team. Each 2-run homer is 7 points....then again, Judy/Cy striking him out in the first didn't help.

And I don't want White-flag coming in tonight...not unless we're up by about 10(and even then, the lead isn't safe) Do you think Maggs will be available for pinch-hitting late tonight? I sure as hell hope so. I don't want to have to count on someone like PK or Rios to have to get a big hit for us tonight....because that big hit won't come.

Honel's still quite a few years away....I'm thinking maybe 2006 or so. Rauch, IMO, could be a solid middle of the rotation starter if he ever gets his head out of his ass and just pitches. I don't think he'll ever be what we invisioned him being in 2000 when he pitched so dominantly in the minors. I think working with Nardi in the spring of 2001 really screwed him up.

The only 2 things we have going for us that Thomas is hitting very well, and we face 2 young pitchers and then a lefty(and we all know that Thomas absolutely destroys lefties)

Am I the only one here who thinks that this Giants lineup is much, much better then ours?

Assuming the Dodgers have Jordan, Roberts, and Green in the OF, and their IF is Beltre, Izturis, Cora, and McGriff....their only other option for DH is Mike Kinkade(who is a somewhat decent hitter that is). As far as Houston goes....no, they don't have a better option.

Guys, I have a question. I just found out today that I have to umpire little league at the time of the draft. Assuming I could still get the time slot, would everyone be OK with the draft being moved back to around 2:00ish CT?

I'd say just prerank your players. If you don't prerank your players, then Yahoo will just select the players who are ranked the highest coming into the season....meaning you may end up with Trevor Hoffman as a RP or Paul Konerko as your 1Bman. That is not a good situation to have.
