  1. If I recall, Webster is very raw, but he's got good baseball instincts. He won't be here starting until probably around 06 or 07 if i remember right. I also personally do not believe Thomas will play much longer after his contract expires, and I think that after seeing how he has hit as a 1Bman, that they will just let him stay there unless he says he wants to DH. I gotta think that anyone who wants Konerko can have him. If we could get a semi-good prospect(meaning someone better then Jon Adkins :fyou ), I would even take on some of his salary. I figure that by the time Thomas is done and retired, Webster will be ready, and by that time, Maggs will be gone as well. Possibly have an OF of Reed, Webster, Borchard...and that is a lot of talent right there.
  2. I knew about Smirnoff vodka(I've never really ever fancied even trying hard liquor, though I'll probably do it some day just to get f***ing hammered), and I just couldn't recall the term used for drinks such as Smirnoff Ice, Captain Morgan Gold, Zima, etc).
  3. I think only Jas and Heather. And we are still not totally out of it. 7.5 games back can be gained in a month or so....one team gets real hot, the other real cold....and we still have 3 and a half months left. It isn't early....but it ain't late. What we need is a good leadoff hitter, because we have our perfect #2 hitter leading off.
  4. Screw Frank....there I said it. Roman....I just have to warn you....you are bordering on the old adage "pot calling the kettle black." I think you know what I mean....if not, just let me know, and I'll explain it to you. I dont really know what that means. I kinda get it (both are black yada yada yada) but how does it apply to this situation? You're saying Buehrle sucks and Thomas is doing very well, yet you only have to look back to last year at about this time to see Mark with a 9-5 record and a good ERA and Thomas hitting .230-.240 with bad power numbers(for Frank). Pot, meet kettle. It'd be like a Thomas fan(such as yourself) saying a Konerko fan has no talking rights.

  6. first ... what frank does on any given night is beside the point. would you have felt better had he struck out 4 times ... THEN i give my opinion of him? and i, for one, am NOT saying screw frank. i would have traded him, yes. but having said that, i'm on record (somewhere) saying as long as he's here i hope he has another great year. i just think he's a dope based only on what i read and hear about the guy and i think he's bad for the team. Maybe I'm confused because we just had a good come from behind win last night(not saying anything about what happened today), and that we are still doing this stuff. Also....I realize you did not say screw Frank. Abozichu did.
  7. First and foremost, you ain't getting anyone a beer. As a teen, you can't even legally handle alcohol in public yet. You can give him the money to get all the beer he wants, but technically, you aren't buying it for him. And secondly, Smirnoff isn't beer. I can't remember the name of it, but I know it is not beer. It tastes all right though.
  8. That was one hell of a first post. Agreed 100%. Welcome aboard!
  9. That's some kind of stat compilation right there. Do you have a book for something, or did you just find the time to add all that stuff up? I don't think it would take more than 10 minutes or so, but I'm just curious.
  10. I'll back him on that. I've always been a fan....but I did notice his bat speed was way down, and since moving to 1B, it has sped up.
  11. I'm am in total bewilderment. The night after Frank Thomas hits a game-winning homer on a pitch that he "struggles" on, we have some people who have the nerve to say "screw Frank" and "I want Frank out." Am I missing something? I can understand not liking the guy....but JFC, come on. Show a little respect. The guy is leading the team in average and homer, and possibly RBI too.
  12. They don't have much for 2B....so we'd probably have to either swing a hell of a deal by robbing them dead, or we'd have to settle for less(probably like Ramon Vazquez, who's not bad, but not exactly what I figure we'd want). They were at one time going to move Burroughs to 2B, have Nevin at 3B, Klesko at 1B, and Kotsay in CF, Trammell in LF and Nady in RF or something like that....but I think getting rid of Trammell and losing Nevin actually kind of helped unclog a very clogged up situation. I'd do it, I just don't know if it would be worth it. We could possibly end up giving up more then we'd get. As long as Jose doesn't cost an arm and a leg(or in other words, more than $3 mill), I'd actually just prefer to resign him.
  13. I can definately see us taking games 2 and 3(especially if Wakefield's knuckler doesn't knuckle a whole lot). I'll have to see how Pedro pitches....he might have super good stuff, he might just have good stuff....but I don't think it really matters. And I got a funny feeling Lowe's just gonna whack us. He's a sinker-ball, ground-ball pitcher....and we have the slowest team on the face of the earth. What do I feel like that is a bad combination?
  14. I haven't bought ASB, but I will be getting one of those 2 games. Just not sure which one. I've read that WSB's gameplay is not what it could be, and so I've narrowed it down to those two. Just not sure if I want to get WSB, which has the best franchise mode out of all the baseball games(and quite possibly the best franchise mode of any sporting game) or to get MVP, which has some good gameplay and has a very good hitting engine(pull an outside pitch, ground ball, hit an outside pitch the other way, good contact....that's how it's supposed to work, though I'm not sure that is actually how it does work. I played it the other day and I hit a pitch that was up and in the other way for a homer....not sure how many guys could do that in real life, let alone Steve Finley who I did it with). I'm almost positive that I'm getting WSB....some strange s*** will have to happen for me to get MVP(like it being way cheap, but I don't see that happening any time soon. MVP is an EA game, and those will probably always be more expensive then a Sega game. I bought an XBox for that reason....much cheaper then a PS2)
  15. Not happening. Maggs put up huge numbers last year, much much better than SoSo's....coming into the year, if you asked any sportswriter/guy who thought his opinion meant something(like a Harold Reynolds or someone like that), I bet almost any one of them would prefer SoSo. Maggs has had a solid year.....but you never see his homers on the highlights, you never see his rbi-singles on SportsCenter, you never see any of that s*** for Maggs. But when Soso comes up, you see all that s***. (and then he goes and wants to make himself look like a f***ing dips***, and gets one of the corniest f***ing facial hair thingies that I've ever seen in my life. I don't know what the hell you'd call that, I but I would not call that a mustache). Right now, if you asked any "baseball fan" who was better out of SoSo and Thomas, I would bet something around 75-80% of the fans would say that SoSo is. I'd like to know something here. Is it a coincidence that the last time both Frank Thomas and Carlos Delgado had years this good was all the way back in 2000?
  16. In a game that now means this much, you absolutely HAVE to take full fan voting away. Give them some say in who goes, but not all of it. I just looked through there and saw Bernie Williams 4th in the OF....HE'S BEEN INJURED FOR LIKE A MONTH! I didn't even bother looking at the NL side...probably even worse. Mike Piazza is probably f***ing leading the NL Voting for catchers, and he hasn't and will not play for about the rest of the year.
  17. No f***ing s*** roman. What the f*** did MB do to you? I don't think anyone has said "Oh here comes Paul Konerko....I hope he grounds into a double play" or some weak s*** like that. That's f***ing stupid. No one, NO ONE wishes ill will on any player. I never want the Sox to lose....NEVER. And, while losing 20 games is a big deal, it will NOT ruin a player's career. BH Kim gave up 2 2-run homers that tied the game in consecutive games with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th to a very s***ty Yankee team, and that is MUCH worse then losing 20 games....and I see him starting(and doing fairly well might I add) with the Boston Red Sox, the Yankees biggest rival by far. You're f***ing clueless if you think that would ruin his career. The only way anything would just ruin a 23 or 24 year old's career is if he had his f***ing arm ripped off, or some crazy s*** like that. You couldn't just tear up the tendons and muscles and s*** like that in there, because they have surgery to repair that. The offense is picking up, and I'm still seeing a possible 10-15 win season from MB. It's a long ways off, but he still has a few starts in June left, then all of July, August, and September....probably around 15-20 starts, assuming he isn't injured. 8-13 wins in 15-20 starts? Crazier s*** has happened.
  18. They are playing better. I think Rowand is finally recovering from his injury(he just needed a little time in the minors to straighten that out), Thomas is heating up, our starting pitching has been solid over the past 3 or 4 weeks, and the bullpen is finally coming around. Gordon is definately pitching better, Marte has been good, except for one mistake against Aurilia, Koch is definately getting more unpleasant to look at(though I think that's more of his s***ty face with that stupid ass mustache then it is him actually pitching. He has actually pitched solidly, though him trying to blow that game yesterday was not fun to sit through). Wunsch has pitched well all year, and if Glover and White can ever figure s*** out, they could have a good pitching staff....if they can ever figure s*** out. As soon as they start manufacturing runs on a daily basis, they will win a lot of games. As soon as we start making things happen(ie stealing, hitting and running, sac bunts, sac flies, etc) it will make the other team make a few more mistakes, and as that happens, you'll see a lot more crooked numbers up on the board. Just playing a little small ball can spark a lot of s***. Anyone else see that Ranger game from last night? I saw one homer, Kevin Mench's, and I saw about 8 or 9 singles, all by huge power hitters. Offenses do well by fighting off good pitches and killing bad pitches....I guess it's easier said then done.

    Summer

First of all, the games will cost $150, tops.....though I'd personally buy them on eBay and save a little bit and wait a little bit.....but whatever floats your boat though. Second, you'd still have $70 left, and if you want to feel them so badly, just invite her over to your house, have her sit down on the couch, pretend to trip on something, grab for her tits, squeeze(because you'll need to hold onto something because you will be falling) and you will have felt her tits. Simple as that
  20. Hey, look what the Padres brought in from the zoo down there in San Diego! Had enough zoo animals yet?
  21. How many other 1Bman can go? I haven't checked at all....but I'm just assuming that Giambi has the most votes(because he's on the Yankees, GODDAMN that pisses me off :fyou .....YUCK THE FANKEES), and Delgado is more then deserving to go, and Aubrey Huff in Tampa is going to be their lone All-Star(just not sure where he's going to play....I know he plays RF and I know he plays 1B....where he will play in the All-Star game is beyond me). Those are the only 3 that are putting up better numbers/are more deserving someway or the other then Frank. Durazo going over Frank is just s***ty judgment....I'd understand it if the A's were like a s***ty team like the Tigers or the Indians....but not on the A's, who have the best 1-2-3 combo in the majors and have the best closer in the league to go along with that. That's just flat out wrong. Thomas deserves to go over Durazo. Loaiza very well could start the All-Star game. The way he is going, he is a potential triple crown winner.....though that is highly doubtful.
  22. Who cares if he's being a smartass? We need to lighten up somehow. The Sox sure ain't helping!
  23. Don't act like a tough guy. No one likes an asshole And keep the personal attacks to yourself, please.
  24. Oh yeah, well... YEAH, SOX WIN, THEY'RE GONNA WIN THE DIVISION NOW! WHO THE f*** CARES THAT THE TWINS WON, ALL THAT MATTERS IS THAT THE WHITE SOX WON! IT'S OVER NOW!
