I saw that earlier, and I don't think we're out of it yet. One trade, IMO, can push us over the top, whether it be for a good lead off hitter(Pierre, Lofton), or a good LH bat in the middle of the order(Beltran, Drew, Giles). Assuming we are out of it....then I can see what they have happening happen.

One stat sticks out like a sore thumb at me. His K:BB ratio of about 3.5:1 is not good, and I assume that's in about 235 ab's....that's like 1 K ever 4.25 ab's, and over about 600 ab's, that's like 140 K's, and 40 walks. Some stats mean very little....but he obviously has to work on his plate discipline before he is ready for the majors.

Maybe corg can clarify this, but if I remember right, he was going to take a discount because he came in out of shape and pitched terribly....he said he wanted to come back and that Chicago was one of the few cities he wanted to pitch in. KW said no, and that was the end. I may just be remembering it wrong....but I thought that was how it happened.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The little bit of hate I carry in my heart he has first dibs on, second is the Queen of the Sun Times. Btw, Kotexboy = North??????????? No, no, North is just a twerp, Jay Marriotti is 'KotexBoy' so named by David Wells, and fine representation of the mistake by the lake, Cleveland. And not resigning Wells was, IMO, one of the biggest, if not the biggest, mistake the White Sox/Kenny Williams have made in the past 10 years. If you resign him, you have no need to trade Ritchie, and you can then sweeten the deal with the Angels in the 2001-02 offseason and actually do bring in Darin Erstad, who then solidifies the CF position for a few years, and brings us a very, very good defensive CFer. Hindsight is always 20-20....but goddamn was that a big mistake. Did KW not see that or what?

For as bad as Mark has actually pitched this year(because he has not pitched as well as he has pitched in the past), he does have 9 quality starts, and has had 3 solid starts(Apr 30, Oak, 6 IP, 4 ER, May 11, Sea, 5 IP, 4 ER, May 21, Tor, 6 IP, 5 ER). He could very easily be 7-6 right now, let alone something like 9-4 or even possibly a complete reverse of his record now and be 10-3. MB is just starting to pitch well again. I still stand by my new prediction of 16 wins for MB, and 6(but 7 or 8 is possible) by the break. I'll also say he beats the Cubs atleast once, and possibly twice.

So what do gay people think of you when you are fondling a girl and doing what not else with her in public? Are they just going to be fine with the fact that you are making love to a girl yet they cannot do the same? Public affection can sometimes be great for couples and helps build character, like "I don't give a s*** that I'm gay/straight, I'm going to show it and be proud of it." If you wore a White Sox hat out in public, are you going to care that several other hundred people are going to think you're an idiot because they flat out do not like the White Sox? If you ever do assault a homosexual person, all I have to say is good f***ing luck in court. It will be brought up as a hate crime and those are treated much harsher then just regular crimes. Also Roman....I wouldn't yell "f*****"....freedom of speech is great, but you can't just say anything you want. Ever heard of harassment or sexual harassment?

Is it just me, or does that look like his thigh is flat?

That'd be sweet. You should make a "cheater" sign like that one guy in whitesox247's sig. That'd be sweet s***

So what you are telling me is that no Sox pitcher has won a game, it has been the Sox offense that has won every game so far this year? You both are really starting to f***ing piss me off. CAN YOU NOT JUST ADMIT THAT MARK PITCHED A GREAT GAME AGAINST A GREAT TEAM AND GET OVER YOUR STUPIDASS LITTLE FACT THAT WE GOT "LUCKY" OR THAT "THE SOX OFFENSE WON THE GAME"? Thank you

Frank Thomas, 0-for-4, 2 K's! What a loser! You little punk. Frank Thomas .275 BA, 16 homeruns and 35 RBIs. MB 3-10 with a 4.85 ERA. And Franks a loser? Check last year Frank Thomas - .259 average, 28 homers, 92 RBI, 110 or so K's, 80 BB's.....very bad numbers for Frank, and this isn't mentioning how he had numbers over about .230 10 35 at this time last year. Mark Buehrle - 19-12 with an ERA of about 3.60, and he would have won 20, had it not been for Bobby Kielty If we did not have Buehrle, we would be in a rebuilding mode right now, and we wouldn't even have Thomas anymore. We probably wouldn't have Valentin, Konerko, Lee, Maggs, Koch, Gordon, Wunsch, and several others. We wouldn't even be within striking distance of Minnesota, because we'd be somewhere between Cleveland and Detroit. You have to thank Buehrle for even having Thomas. Ugh. Saying that MB is responsible for Frank being here is just laughable. Frank is still a member of the Sox because of Jerry Reinsdorf, nobody else. And it's a STRETCH to say all of those players you mentioned may not be here if it wasn't for MB. And finally, don't compare Frank, a future HOF'er, to MB until Mark has had 7 consecutive dominant seasons (just like Frank had at the start of his career), OK? You know what, I find this pointless. In you backing a person whose opinion is obviously being very unfair and misguided by MB's start, I would put this post in that same category. Roman/Psycho has unfairly put Buehrle in the suck category. MB had a few rough starts in April, but has had some quality starts since then. He's just been a victim of bad luck. Also....will you let me compare Magglio Ordonez to Frank Thomas, or not? How about Carlos Lee? Carlos Delgado? Jason Giambi? Adam Dunn? Albert Pujols? NONE of those guys put up 7 great years of baseball like Frank Thomas did to start his career, though some may. How do you know that MB won't do the same? My point exactly.
-
I WISH Buehrle would "suck" as much as Nolan Ryan did. Please do not compare a 3rd year pitcher to perhaps the greatest pitcher of all-time. I think he was more or less referring to the fact that Ryan also had slumps when he was pitching, and he misused the word 'suck.' I assumed what he meant by that was that he'll never lose that many games.

I guess we probably all are then... I don't care who the player is, even if I think he is a complete asshole, I still want to see him succeed, because it helps the Sox; which is the MOST important thing. NO ONE PLAYER is more important than the team, no matter what some players think... I root for the Sox too. Which is why I want MB gone. I cant root for MB so I want him to leave. Then Ill be able to root against him... Did MB spit on your burger or something? Did he f*** your girlfriend or your mom or something or what? MB is a low ego starter who is having a rough year. If you have a problem with that, then just keep it to yourself. We all know he's having a rough year. And for christ's sake, be f***ing happy! We just beat one of the best teams in the AL, and we did not lose to one of the best pitchers in baseball(being Pedro). Can you not show some happiness? I'll go as far as saying Buehrle has 6 wins by the break and he has 16 wins by the end of the year.

MBs not your favorite player like he is abozichius, now is he? Roman, that is not what you said. You said anyone woh roots for MB is a loser. To me, that is speaking to everyone...."You(meaning everyone in this forum) are a loser for rooting for Buehrle. Buehrle sucks and you all(meaning everyone in this forum) know it." Personally, I'd like to know what you mean by "Buehrle sucks and we all know it." Prove it

Apparently you are

You're the ONLY one then. When Buehrle goes out there, I'm confident he's going to have a solid outing. Most of the time, I'm right. Sometimes, I am surprised, because he does better then I figure he'd do. Sometimes I'm a little disappointed, because he does worse. Tonight, I've been relatively surprised, but happy none the less. I expected the Red Sox who have the best offense in the majors to score more then 2 runs off of him, but that's what makes him a great pitcher. He rises to the occasion. How much do you wanna bet that Garland would have s*** his pants and given up about 7 runs in 4 innings?
-
Dude, you are a f***ing tard. Sorry man, but it's true. To say you won't root for a guy is goddamn stupid. I think everyone here, except Vince, hated Choice K-layton last year....how much do you wanna bet that even though everyone here hated him, they wanted him to do well? Don't ever f***ing wish someone ill will....it will come back and bite you in the ass like no other.
-
Now that I look at that, it kind of makes me think that we'll have to give up a little more then I figured we would. I'd personally be willing to give up Rauch, and if he ever figures it would with them, kudos to him. I just think that Pierre may be what we need to spark this team. That'd move DJ to 2nd in the lineup, and he, IMO, is the perfect #2 hitter. Having those two at the top also works well because Carlos can then move to the #5 spot. Valentin moves to the #6 spot, and then whoever else.
-
$$$. it sounds like the Marlins may need to move some salary. What kind of deal does Pierre have? Juan Pierre OF FLA Signed Mar 2002 - 4 years/$7.5M 2002: $0.5M (+$0.4M signing bonus) 2003: $0.9M 2004: $2.3M 2005: $3.4M -Total value of deal can reach $12.75M with incentives
-
A national league type? You mean a singles hitter, can get down a bunt, hit a sac fly, has good speed, and can steal bases? That's why I was wondering if Juan Pierre is available! Fainter....I can handle his weak arm(because you being around the Rocky Mountain area and seeing Rockies games, I'd take your word for everything you say about Rockies hitters), because he's better then anything we have now, and he could be the Julio Cruz of 2003.
-
Maybe I should clarify then. Does anyone know if Juan Pierre is available VIA TRADE?
