Somebody said prior to the Red Sox series that these next two weeks are huge on determining whether or not the Sox try to contend or fold it up for the year, and they couldn't have said it better or more correctly. Someone on the Sox must have read that and realized that whoever posted that was absolutely correct, because they sure as hell have responded. Take 2 in a 4-game set against on of the better offenses in the MLB and winning(possibly sweeping) a series from the huge rival Cubs....we would be rolling into Minnesota with a ton of momentum, and our big game pitcher(up to this point in the year) in ELo starting game 1, hopefully setting the tone for the whole series. Meanwhile, the Twinkies have just lost(and could possibly be swept) by a very s***ty Milwaukee team. Talk about being in the pits. If we do sweep the Cubs, and Minny is swept by the Brew Crew, I don't doubt that we could be within a half game of first by the end of the week(taking 2 of 3 from Minny, which puts us 2.5 out, and then taking 2 of 3 from the Scrubs, while the Brewers take 2 of 3 from Minny, and we are a half game out of first). By July 2, we could have sole possesion of first place. I think the last time I was this excited about the White Sox was March.

Why the hell can't anyone else beat them? We sure as hell have kicked their ass twice now. It's not that f***ing hard.

That is a work of art.

Don't worry about it man. I know exactly how you feel. Talk your way through tense situations...it helps calm you down. That was most definately a tense situation. I don't think I could think of anything that would be worse then giving up a 7 run lead to those piece of s*** Cubbies. They almost did to us this year what we did to them last year. I don't ever want to be on the bad end of things. Ever.

koches mechanics are way way off.. no way do you go from throwing 100-99-98 mph fast balls to 90-91 without something being drastically wrong............ Didn't Cooper figure that out a while ago? I atleast thought he did. Maybe now that he's grown that ugly ass mustache, his pitches lost a little MPH?

we played better offense for the whole game and did what we needed to do so its all good we knocked them out of 1st I believe be happy with a win everyone rather than choreograph how we do it If the Astros win tonight(and they should), then the Cubs are out of first. We will go for the sweep tomorrow.....against Zambrano, correct? We have our horse on the mound in Colon, so that should save the bullpen. Just as a note, I should add something. When Gordon came on in the 8th, and got a few counts where he had two strikes, I was constantly saying "throw a curve ball." He never did....until the last pitch that he threw, which ended up in Daubach's glove as a pop up.

I do remember that one. Asshat is right....you wanna talk about dumb and dumber....Chimp and Joe should have been in the original

When I voted, it was 56-44 Sox

That's f***ing sweet. And to think that this game could still be going on(or not) had Wendel Kim not sent Damian Miller home. What a dumbass! He's worse then Wavin' Wally! I wonder if Buehrle still sucks

I'm not murc, but... How about getting some that work?

You wanna know a guy that threw it all away on drugs? Darryl Strawberry That guy could have been Barry f***ing Bonds and then some....and the dumb son of a b**** liked drugs more then immortality. Well, maybe not that good, but he had hall of fame talent, and he threw it away. Jose Canseco, IMO, could be inducted into the HoF based on his stats alone. As they/I say, stats are only half the story. Canseco has better stats then some HoFers, but is not HoF worthy. It would be a shame if he is voted in.

We have too many men on the rosters combined. Someone has to be let go(that's what happens when you pick up Michael Rivera).

MOTHERF*CKING B*TCHASS DIPSHIT PASSIONLESS SOX!!!!
witesoxfan replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Someone said something about everyone participating in this thread. I had not, so now I have! Now everyone really HAS participated in this thread! And another thing....CUCK THE FUBS(of if you prefer, f*** the Cubs)! -
Oh, I forgot to ask. Have you been gaining weight Heather?

I'm so damn confused. Konerko can't get a sacrifice down last night, Wellemeyer pops one up today....I mean, what is so hard about sticking the bat out over the plate and watching the ball make contact with the bat? I guess when players stick the needle in to take the steroids, and when they start hitting the homers, they forget how to bunt or something. Drives me crazy.
-
I don't know...I think Josh Paul is going to get the boot. And it wouldn't be a day early or anything like that either. In fact, it's probably too late.

Damn, sorry to hear about that man. When I read that, my heart just dropped. Made me forget about all the s*** that's going on in my life. Just remember that karma always works this out and that you'll be back on your feet in no time, and that mega, super, evil(and the other words you used) b**** will get her payback.

That's a lot of posts. Imagine what will happen if we actually start playing well. There will be like 5000 posts in a day.

Last year, Garland's line looked something like this 4 IP, 7 hits, 5 R(all earned), 2 homers(including one to SamME, his 25th at the time) This year, Garland's line was a little better 6 IP, 8 hits, 2 R(both earned) 1 homer, and 4 K's(I believe one of them was of SamME

I don't think dumb f*** begins to describe him. I mean, you have to be flat out stupid....not just the stupid we call Roman when he trashes MB....to do some stupid s*** like that. That kind of thing defies common sense. I don't mean this in a violent way, though I don't think I'm the only one in saying this when I do....but when people are stupid like that, you just want to smack them to knock some sense into them.
-
So who is CubKilla talking about with his name now, Carlos Lee or Miguel Olivo? And Garland's start this year in Wrigley was a little better then the one he had last year.

I was just gonna say get a few beers in her, and then move in for the kill.

I'm a little to far away....but I think I'll just assume that you aren't buying.

I wouldn't call Frank the franchise. He's more or less been just a big piece over the past 5 years or so(except in 2000, when he carried his young team to a division crown, and gave Jerry Manuel manager of the year....what's Frank get for that? A runner-up in the MVP race and a player's choice of Comeback Player of the Year award....he deserved better, and should have bolted if he could have). IMO, Maggs has been the franchise over the past couple years(once again, except in 2000). Konerko has been nothing more then a 1-dimensional player who has played somewhat well over the past couple years, but has sucked for about 11 straight months now.

Not happening. You wouldn't give up 2 young relievers with good stuff, a cheap CFer with very good speed, for 2 bums in Glover and White, and two possible major leaguers in Rauch and Ginter. And the Marlins really aren't dumping any salary. They are, more or less, adding salary. Pierre is dirt cheap(making $900,000 this year), Looper's making the league minimum, and Spooneybarger is making probably $500,000, tops. In return, we are giving them Rauch and Ginter, who would make league minimum if they are promoted right away, White, who is making $750,000 or so this year, and Glover, who's making like $500,000 or so. They are adding like $25,000 in salary, or something like that...not a lot, but they aren't shedding any payroll, they are adding it. And add IRod? Are you kidding me? Wheover has caught for us(mainly Miguel) has been one of our few bright spots on the year. Why would we get an over-priced veteran to take over one of our bright spots? I suggest we give them Jimenez as well, and we bring in Luis Castillo along with Pierre. Castillo is making around $5 mill this year....they shed some payroll....and they get Jimenez, who could actually possibly be better over time, and he is cheap as hell right now. I believe Castillo is a FA after the end of the year, so we then don't resign him, and we actually use some justice and do something right, and give the 2B job to the best man in ST the next year....whoever plays best between Harris and Miles. Simple as that.
