We can do this Don't you remember when we lost to the Angels 19-0 last year?
-
My beef with him is that fact that he is like Jose Valentin at the plate, only a slightly better hitter with less power. He's really good from the left side of the plate(hitting .312), but he can't hit righties(hitting .169). If we could get him for Jimenez straight up, I'd do it in a heartbeat

Ever since this team started doing the "little" things, they've been winning. The sCrUB fans are throwing in the towel. CubTalk.com even mentioned the "S" word for this June It's kind of funny how things work out, isn't it? A couple weeks ago, one Chicago team was talking about possibly adding a few pieces, while the other was talking about trading away everything and starting from scratch. Now, after that time period, one Chicago team has lost 3 straight games that they could have and should have won....and they didn't win them. Another Chicago team is playing very good baseball, though not great baseball yet, and are finding new ways to win instead of new ways to lose. The trading ideas are obviously switching too. f***ing awesome. And hopefully, we'll be 3.5 out by the end of tonight.

Raised his arms up and pumped his right fist in the air. There was no doubt about it. This is why you just don't not put these games on TV. Every Cub-Sox game HAS to be on national TV. It just isn't right the other way around. Man, would i have killed to have seen the end of this one.

Yet another CubKilla Did he do the bunny hop, stutter step, and kiss blowing like SamME?

I hope we score about 2 more runs, because if Koch comes in, it's almost guaranteed that he'll walk the first guy and try to make it interesting. Koch is anything but automatic right now. Only you think so. The only guy that is automatic(or in other words, pitching well) in our bullpen right now(and I hope to the heavens that I don't jinx him) is Flash Gordon. And to say he is automatic right now is giving him too much credit. Anyways....keep it up Sox!

WSC, if someone mocks something you say(because they have....I've done it myself), take it lightly. If we do it, it is done as a joke and not to offend you. If it does offend you, don't let it. Simple as that. I come here to relieve stress sometimes, it's just what I do. Heather has done that too(those motherf***ing, b****ass, passionless, piece of s***, cocksucking, whatever else you want to say that is not nice, White Sox). OK?

Koch This and YAS....thanks for the advice, I'll try that. I think what's messing me up is that I'm finally at the level where I'm starting to see some good curveballs, and that is real throwing me off balance and then when the fastball comes in there, it looks much faster then it is. I think as soon as I see some more curveballs, I'll be more comfortable at the plate and I'll start hitting the ball harder. I am also a very slow starter, and once July rolls around, I get to playing much better. It's happened the last 3 or 4 years for me, and I don't know why.

Actually folks, we are 5.5 out. 4.5 in back of the Twins. I really don't think the Royals can keep this up. They'll finish a little below .500....maybe like 79-83 or something like that.

Don't look now Alright, I won't He has to give me at least a month of consistency, not 2 good games in a row here and there... And this guy is still allowed to own a baseball glove...that should be a crime right there.. Two good games? I'd have to say 3 of 4 personally! Though in all seriousness, he did have a good last game against the Cubs(I believe he walked, singled, doubled, and hit a hard line drive right to Sosa), he had a good game in game 2, and a good game in game 3 of the Twins series. I think he sucked in game 1 though. I can't remember.
-
I assume you're right. I just don't see how he can go from throwing 98-100 to throwing 90-92
-
The same person who's been leading off for atleast the past 2 weeks....Willie Harris.
-
One more? f*** that. I hope for 3!

I agree. We are just not "hot" yet. The potential of this team is very high. It could do some very good things. We need to get the offense and bullpen going before we can even consider going on a huge streak.

You should actually read what was posted.... Before giving up the home run to Jones on Wednesday on a belt-high fastball, Koch had posted a 1.89 ERA over his previous 20 appearances. So it's not like he has been woefully ineffective. I'm not necessarily talking about that. I'm talking more or less about how his fastball was 91 on the FSN gun for Minnesota. Koch can supposedly hit 97, and in fact, I've seen him hit 97....in and Oakland uniform. And this gun is not off....if anything, it is high, because I believe I saw Flash hit 98 once. And one of his last 20 appearance was a save against the Twins....WHERE HE WENT 1/3 OF AN INNING. I might not be as mad if he were doing this while he was hitting 95, 96, or 97. He's hitting 89, 90, and 91, every once in a while getting 92 and 93. He is either messing around with a changeup or he flat out can't throw the ball anymore. I don't want this fancy bulls***, I want him to bring the f***ing heat. Throw the ball 97, 98, and keep throwing it. Don't mess around with this breaking ball s***. Do like Billy Wagner and Troy Percival. If you can hit 98 or 99 on the gun, don't f*** around with any other pitch. Hitters have a hard enough time hitting a pitch that hard. Don't make it easy on them. Koch has been ugly all year, other then a few outings. He's lucky as hell he hasn't gotten torched in some of the other outings he's had.

And roman.... You are welcome!

We could easily be 1.5 out right now. If we win that game against the Cubs, and we win last night against the Twinkies....we're that close. All these what if's.....and it's all coming up short. I hope their just starting to play well. If this (unlike 83-win 2001) healthy team plays up to its potential, we would be about 20 games over 500 right now, leading the second best ALC team by 15 games or so. The sheer degree of this team's underachiving play up to the LA series was downright scary, and this newfound will to win of the last 6 fays only highlights it more. Oh the pathos. I agree with a lot of your stuff....but will to win? If they had a will to win, the Sox would be on a 6-game winning streak right now. There were many opportunities to win last night, and just when it looked like the momentum could be shifting toward our favor(Minny putting together a huge threat, one ball away from ending the game, and one strike away from ending the inning, and then having them be brought down by electric Flash Gordon), Botch comes in and throws up a meatball that says "Hit me hard Jacque" and, of course, Jacque does exactly that. And I'm not even going to talk about getting shutdown by the Chubbies on Sunday. Talk about a major disappointment. Colon should have stayed in and done the job. We're still not taking care of mistakes, though we are not necessarily swinging at a ton of bad pitches anymore(still more then we should, however....Carlos swung at one in his eyes IIRC last night against Hawkins). If we start hitting mistakes hard....then you can say we are on a role. I've seen too many good pitches be let go. Someone's gotta step up offensively before the July 20th, or else we'll be seeing a lot of guys leave. I personally feel that as soon as one guy gets real, real hot...like sizzling hot...then you will see the byproduct in the final boxscore with a lot of crooked numbers. Hitting is contagious.

It's just one game? Has he been watching himself this year? A 4.50 ERA doesn't happen in one game because of one homer. He's gotta be the stupidest f***er on the team if he doesn't realize that it isn't just one game, but rather about 5-10 MPH off his fastball that is doing this.

sCrUBS and Twinkies :finger Quote of the week material right there(which I haven't changed in like 2 or 3 weeks). That and Croce's rant on Larry Brown.

You know what's sweet about watching that highlight? Listening to Chimp in the background as the ball lands on the street and Jenkins rounds the bases.

MR. CLUTCH DOES IT AGAIN!
-
And your's does? No, he doesn't have to read this board to realize Koch sucks. I assume he'll just realize it. Apparently, a hell of a lot more then you do Koch is a s***ty closer, he barely reaches 90 on the gun....he shouldn't be closer, he should mop up. If you don't like that, LIKE ANOTHER TEAM! No, we bash players that are s***ty or have done something s***ty very recently. Koch is s***ty. White is s***ty. Glover is s***ty. Konerko is s***ty. And then we pick out those that we like, and those that we don't like. Some of us don't like Jimenez and his s***ty attitude. Some of us like Frank Thomas for what he has done for this organization. Apparently, by pitching very, very s***ty, Koch has earned his way onto about 99% of the posters' s***lists. You are apparently in the minority.

You know, for "not liking" the dome, he sure as hell pitched a gem today. Maybe we should have him not like pitching everywhere now? I don't know what it was....he could have said I'm pitching s***ty right now....but it wouldn't have mattered to me. We have a big game....clujer calling it THE biggest game of the year so far.....and Mark goes out and throws a gem. Didn't I say something about Mark being a stopper, our big game pitcher, not that long ago? And that in this situation, Jon/Judy Garland would have s*** his pants? In big games, I have a TON of confidence that Mark will get the job done. He is a big game pitcher. He will be great in the postseason.
