I assume he's talking about Jesus...thinking he's in a different thread.

I'd actually like to move Danny to the bullpen. He is a hell of a starter when he has good control of his pitches....and I'll go out on a limb here and say that when he has good control of his pitches, he is one of the better starters in the league, or at the very least, a good starter. However, he rarely does. And you can't always tell whether or not he had good control of his pitches by how many walks he issued. That is not necessarily what I am concerned with. I'm more concerned about where he leaves his pitches. When he is wild down, he'll walk a lot of guys. When he is wild up....well, look at what the Angels did to him last year. I said in another thread that addition by subtraction would be a good idea. As soon as we trade/release one of Koch/White-flag/Glover, we move Danny to the pen and use him as a setup man and eventually turn him into a closer. His stuff is too good to be wasted.

They have much worse hitters, we only gave up 12 runs to them yesterday! Wait a second....

You know what's funny. Clu and Jas are right. We are still not playing "hot" though our W-L over the past 20 games may tell you differently. It's kind of weird, because we are doing the opposite thing the Twins have done. The Twins have had some hot hitters, but they are not playing well and are losing, and the Sox have had some cold hitters, but are winning on a consistent basis. I guess this just goes to show what good starting pitching can actually do for you. I'd hate/love to see what happens if we heat up offensively. If Harris gets going, we could still have a lot of fun this summer.

I should add that I am still happy taking 2 of 3.
-
Goddammit. 4.5 out instead of 2.5 out. That is a BIG difference. We now have to go kill the Cubs and we have to kill the Twins when they come to Chi-town. Simple as that.

Frank went deep off of him too, IIRC. Jesus who?

Roman, to get back to you about what kind of player I am, here's what I'll say. I am basically your average player. Average baseball instincts, average throwing arm, average throwing speed, average power, average bat, average baserunner....average everything, except the fact that I know a s***load about the game. I'm a smart player. We got 1st and 3rd, and I'm on 1st, I'm gonna try to get the runner home by sacrificing myself. I'll try to get in the other pitchers head by clapping and yelling and hopping around. And I'll try a balk steal every now and then too. Every once in a while I'll make a nice play or I'll have a real nice hit. But nothing spectacular. Mainly a singles hitter, I'll steal bases, I'll make the routine plays, etc. Right now, I'm struggling a ton though. My swing is f***ed up and I think because of that, I'm not taking a good attitude out on the field. Too pissed at myself, and I'm making a lot of dumb errors. I think I'm starting to swing better though, and hopefully my fielding will get better because of it.

I've played like s*** this year, so I'm not too excited, but what roman just said brought up something I remember doing in little league. I was on 3B, and the pitcher really wasn't paying attention to me. He'd just pitch, and get back on the rubber, and pitch, and get back on the rubber. He'd turn away from me every time too. So the next pitch, he threw it in there, and I got my lead off of 3B. The catcher threw the ball back, he turned towards, 1B, and I sprinted home, and I was safe by a mile. That was killer.

He must have been waiting for Jimenez to leave 2B then last night, because Thomas was half-way on Maggs's hit.
-
He's a station to station baserunner. He may not be bad for his size, but it's not always fun to see him run the bases.

I think if we want to win it will be addition by subtraction. Get rid of some of the deadweight around here, and we got a shot. Get rid of Konerko, Koch, White-flag, and for all I care, you can get rid of Jimenez and Glover too. Put Harris at 2B, put Rowand in CF, platoon Lee and Dauber in LF and DH, switch the lineup around one time and don't make any other moves, except to get a guy in now and then. My lineup would be Harris, Thomas, Daubach, Maggs, Lee, Valentin, Crede, Olivo, Rowand. Up the middle, we are much better defensively, and are possibly the same offensively. Rowand has a much better arm then Harris in CF, and Harris has much better range then Jimenez at 2B. This lineup isn't incredibly slow, and you have better baserunning, and it frees up a spot or two on the bench to add some situational guys for the stretch run(if we want a chance in hell). And in getting rid of Koch and White-flag, you then have a dual closer now in Flash and Damaso(if there are 3 righties coming up, use Flash. If a lefty comes up, use Damaso). You can then bring up Ginter to take White's spot, and maybe trade for a veteran reliever for down the stretch. I'd have a bullpen of Wunsch, Ginter, Flash, Damaso, the veteran(maybe Dave Weathers from the Mets, Witaseck from the Padres, and there are others as well), and then maybe we could use Wright as a setup man and we acquire another starter for down the stretch(maybe like Steve Trachsel).

After I've seen Jose score from 3rd and 1 out on TWO of Borchard's infield pop ups and after I've seen him score from SECOND on a deep sacrifice FO in 2000....I have no doubt he scores on that single. The worst part about it is Jimenez is a step faster than either Maggs, Jose or Lee...Little f***er. I just don't think he tries sometimes.

What can we do with Koch? Trade his ass out of town is what we can do.

You've never seen that? Someone hit a ball out to David Delucci in RF at Pac Bell park. I can't remember the situation exactly, but I think Rivera was on 1B, he got half way, and then the ball dropped in(though it looked like Delucci was going to make the play). So when it landed, Rivera started sprinting toward 3B, but he missed 2B. So he then went and touched 2B, started on his way to 3B, and when he was about 5 steps away, the ball got to 3B and the 3Bman dropped the ball. So Rivera started to go home once that happened, and he was nailed at the plate by about 5-10 steps. Anyways....I think the only two people that might be worse baserunners in the past 10 years for the White Sox are Carlos Lee circa 2000-2002(because he's been much better and much more aggressive this year) and Frank Thomas. I think Jose Valentin needs to teach a course on base running, because there is no way in hell that he doesn't score on Maggs's hit in the 9th. DJ's just got to pay attention. It was quite obvious the ball was going to land 10 feet in front of Mohr in RF, but he had to slow up to make sure. Give credit to Mohr though....he did kind of deak them. He had his glove up like he was going to catch it, but he then put it down when he was going to field the ball.

who dislikes you? You are one of the colorful posters here and that is to be enjoyed,. you have your thoughts and you express them well and validly - you are the furtherst thing from a troll - indeed, you are family! This place would be less without you. Agreed, and I agree with your other post as well. And besides, who here could back Valentin if BrandoFan left? Baggs hasn't been on the board in quite some time, and I really don't like defending a guy who is hitting .230(though sometimes I do anyways).

You are way too negative. He's being such an asshole In the meantime, I wanna go feel some boobs

Don't look now, but two Chicago teams blew 5-1 leads today. God dammit

Putting Billy Koch into a tie game + nothing else = trouble f*** him! :fyou -
don't hold back your feelings, let them out I think I just did. Or did I? Maybe I should do that again? In that case... BURN IN HELL YOU PIECE OF s***! THROW THE BALL HARDER THEN 91 MPH AND YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY BE DECENT! :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou

Karma's a b****....and that's life However, what we are forgetting is that somehow, someway, the Twins will get their payback for being a bunch of little punk-ass pieces of s***. Maybe we'll trade Billy Koch this season, and the Twins will trade for him next season? Also.... :fyou Billy Koch :fyou Minnesota Twinkies

You're not the only one who has wondered why the Sox have not been able to his this piece of s***. I have gotten pissed every time he's killed the Sox. Every time. He throws 86-88 with so-so stuff. This guy should be, at best, an average MLB starter.....and he kills us every f***ing time out, except for now 3 starts where we've hit him hard.

Yeah, I remember that. But that doesnt earn him qualification as an active Cubkilla... My definition of active is that a player is still playing. Is Konerko still playing, or more or less, is he an active player? I'd venture to say yes, considering he has played this year and has not retired yet. Moreso, he is still with the Sox. He is an active CubKilla.
