We'll get very, very, very little for Thomas, so the smart thing to do would be to keep him. If he ever gets going again, he can carry a team by himself. I say we keep one of Loazia and Colon....one is relatively cheap for next year, and will probably put up solid stats, and one is going to cost a bit more, but is a workhorse and a stud. There is no wrong choice....and both will net some very good prospects. I say take the best offer that gets rid of one....and do no more. Get rid of not only Gordon, Koch, and Wunsch, but see if anyone wants to take a shot on Rick White. He's been a piece of s*** for us....but maybe he'll turn it around with another team. I'd take anything for him. Unless we can get a good offer for Jose....I'd keep him. He doesn't have a good glove....but he's got good range....and I really don't want to see Jimenez anywhere but 2B, and we don't have another SS(though I believe Neifi Perez is a FA after this year....he might be worth a shot). Also....don't exclude the intangibles. Even the biggest Jose bashers will tell you he is a good leader. If we can get anything for Konerko....you do that move immeadiately. If you don't get anything, send him down to the minors to figure s*** out....he'd have to clear waivers, but I don't think anyone wants to take him....and if they do, so be it. He's too damn expensive to keep around while he hits below the Karkovice/K-layton line. I'd also trade Daubach. If a team has a guy that gets injured for a long period of time, Daubach is the perfect guy for them(assuming the guy is a LF/RF/1B/DH). If, for example, Erubiel Durazo gets hurt in Oakland, a guy like Daubach could get us another Jon Adkins.....OK, bad example, but I think you get my point. If a team needs a good, clutch, util IF....I'd also trade Tony G. It'd actually be kind of sad to see him go....but if he could get us a prospect or two, that'd be great. One of Tim Hummel and Jorge Nunez(or whatever that guys name was that we got from Montreal in the Colon deal) will be ready to take over as util IF. And if you can, trade Josh Paul....please. I'd take a wet rag and a bowl of soup for that piece of s***....just get us a real catcher, please.

You know....I knew we were gonna lose this game. Once I saw that Gordon was getting hit hard....and Manuel was doing nothing about it....I knew the game was over. A good manager, that knew his job was on the line, would have had Wunsch warming up in the pen between innings, and in a situation where Hillenbrand were to lead off the inning with a hit, you would have Wunsch ready to come in to face Overbay. Instead, Manuel, being the dips*** he is, doesn't care, and let's Gordon get his ass rocked by a struggling DBacks team. Apparently, Manuel doesn't feel his job is on the line....and for good reason. I highly doubt he is fired after this roadtrip, even if we lose the rest of the games on it.

Suppose this thread will get up to 150 posts or whatever? And no BMR, I will not give you head. Sorry man.

Winning Ugly....that sounds like a hell of an idea as well. I'll sign up for that league as soon as you make it. Recruit as many Sox fans as you can....we're going to need atleast 13 teams(including my Host team). Also....if you do end up pre-ranking your players....make sure you pre-rank them accordingly. You will not want to end up with a guy like Jose Hernandez on your team....all those K's and very few BB's....not good, and you will gain very few points.
-
I wouldn't....the Dodgers would kick our ass, only it would be worse then it was in 1959.
-
Sending Paulie down to the minors would work....you think anyone wants to take on a one dimensional firstbasemen who is guaranteed to make around $24 mill? I believe Crede is out of options, and as cheap as he is and as much potential as he has, he would not clear waivers.

I hate to ruin the fun....because this is fun....but how much do you wanna bet that most of this s*** gets buried in the backpages of the Trib? I personally don't really care that the Trib will most likely cover it up....because ESPN and FSN will bring the s*** out to everyone.
-
That is good s***. Now we don't have to face his tough ass
-
Where's the choice "all of the above excluding 8 and 9" ?
-
If we get any offense whatsoever....we could sweep. Buehrle, Colon, Loaiza....I couldn't have written it any better. We'll probably lose 2-0, 1-0, and then 1-0 in the 11th.

Yeah, shove it up your ass :fyou

The Sox are too f***ing boring...and I want some good jokes to read. If you have any....just post them. I'll start it off. A guy and his family decide to go on vacation. After he and his wife considered all the spots to go to, they decide to go to Jamaica. After their plane lands in Jamaica from Florida, There, they get off the plane and go to their hotel room. After a while, the husband gets bored as hell, and drags his wife out to a bar. They start having some fun, and are drinking a s***load, and the husband has to go to the bathroom. There, he sees a big, meanass native Jamaican. He walks over to the stall next to the Jamaicans, unzips his zipper, and takes a piss. While pissing, the husband looks over and the Jamaican says "You got a problem?" The husband tells him that he was just comparing sizes and noticed that he had a tattoo, something the husband also had on his penis. The Jamaican said "What does your's say?" "It says 'Me' when unerected, but my name, 'Mike Stife' when I'm at full length." The husband, feeling quite proud of his good sized schlong, sticks his chest out with pride. The Jamaican laughs. "What's so damn funny?" the American says. "Your's only says 'We.'" "Of course it only says 'We' when I'm not hard, dumbf***." He then gets a boner, and it extends all the way. The American stands in awe. The Jamaican reads it aloud. "Welcome to Jamaica. Have a nice time." I got another too Two guys, we'll call them Jim and Ted, meet up in heaven, and they start talking about things. As they get to talking, Ted brings up how they died. Jim says "I froze to death." Ted says how sorry he is for his death. Jim then asks Ted how he died. "Well, I knew my wife had been cheating on me for some time. So one day, I came home from work early. I bolted into our house, looked upstairs to find my wife in our bed naked. So I searched the whole upstairs - nothing. I searched the whole main level - nothing. I searched the whole basement - nothing. I then ran back upstairs, into the attic and I found nothing. I was so sure I would find him, and then to not find him, I though I could die; and I did, of a heart attack." Jim then says "Well you should have looked in the freezer. Then we'd both still be alive!"

To get back to the topic at hand... I never really masturbate in weird places. I mainly choke the chicken in the bathroom. In fact, I think the only place I spank my monkey is in the bathroom. Sometimes after some good porno.

Garland has been pitching better as of late, and I like his attitude going into the San Fran series. He is obviously going to worry about Bonds, but he is going to worry about the whole team....and that is a very smart thing to do. San Francisco has a lot of good hitters on their team, and to concentrate on Bonds alone would be devastating. The score would look something like our first game against Minnesota this year in the Metrodome. Remember, the game where the Vikings beat the Bears 18-3....err....the Twins beat the White Sox 18-3.

And if he went out to argue with an ump, and the ump just said "I wish you would go sit down and shut the hell up", Em could do this...

Guess what, I see one win and I start dreaming of us getting back into things and winning the division.....I just do not know if I can take this anymore though I see most of the games through webcast and then highlights on wgn, but it is inevitable every time I see us with a man on base that I will read next that somebody popped to an infielder or grounded into DP This team still keeps looking for the 10 run home run......they just cannot get their heads out of their asses HOW MANY TIMES IN THIS INDIAN SERIES DID WE HAVE f***ING A MAN ON BASE WITH NO OUTS.....WHY THE f*** ARE WE NOT BUNTING? I DO NOT CARE WHO IS ON THE PLATE.....EVERYBODY FROM FRANK TO KONERKO TO LEE TO VALENTIN TO ORDONEZ SHOULD BE BUNTING AS SOON AS WE GET A MAN ON 1ST OR 2ND AND WITH LESS THAN TWO OUTS THIS TEAM JUST DOES NOT GET IT.....f***ING LAZY ASSHOLES ugh All your answers can be summed up in one short phrase. Manuel is a dips***

Agreed. Atleast Mariotti recognizes good fans that follow their team no matter what and aren't just going to their game because "it's the cool thing to do." Gammons is so f***ing stupid, he should be slapped several times...maybe it would un-sag his face.

I got a hell of an idea for Jerry Reinsdorf. Instead of having majority ownership of 2 teams in Chicago, why not sell one of them so you can concentrate all of the money that is being pumped into two teams and make the superteam of its sport by putting all the cash into one.....then, you can put a good product on the field, a real manager as manager of the team, you can hire a real GM, and you can hire someone to replace Rob Gallas, who is a f***ing idiot. Seriously though....if JR sells one team, the one team he still owns could have a payroll of like $80-100 mill....so why does he not sell one of the teams, if he wants that 1 World Championship so damn bad? I'll make a hypothetical here... JR sells the Bulls. Then, after this season is over, Manuel is fired. He then resigns Bart, and goes out an pursues Kevin Millwood, and we'll say we sign him. That is about $28-30 mill in our front 3....and we then use Garland/Wright/Rauch/Stewart/some cheap piece of s*** that our GM at the time signs because the guy wants one last chance at becoming a star and he wants that ring more then anything in the world....like for instance, Todd Ritchie(though he is not a FA). Our rotation then is earning approximately $32 mill. We then keep Koch and Marte, we bring up Ginter, Diaz, Almonte, and someone from the group of 4 or 5 of the starting pitchers that didn't make it. Our bullpen is then making around $10 mill....and we are $42 mill. We get Konerko the f*** out of here, and we try to get rid of Thomas, but because he wants more money then what he'd get on the FA market, he uses his option and stays with us, for $6 mill. We resign Lee for $6 mill, and those two flip flop between 1B and DH on a regular basis....with Lee being able to play LF as well, if, for instance, a guy like Maggs(who by the way is earning a small amount of money next year....$14 mill) wants a day off from the field, but does want to hit. Our offense is then making $26 mill....and we make Borchard the key to the lineup, putting him in the heart of it, to break up the righties. We resign Daubach at $1 mill a year, and use him in LF or at 1B, whichever is open on that particular day. We sign Luis Castillo to be our 2Bman, and we(gulp) use D'Angelo Jimenez as our SS. I then suggest we sign Barry Larkin to be a util IF and we do not resign Graffy. In Larkin, we get a former GG SS who has diminished skills and is injury prone....which is why I think as a utility player, he is perfect, at this point in his career. Our lineup is then Castillo, Jimenez, Maggs, Borchard, Lee, Daubach, Thomas, Crede, Olivo....and, as a collective whole, it earns, about $35-36 mill....and our bench will earn approximately $3 mill. On the expensive end, this team would earn $81 mill. If JR sold the Bulls....what would be so damn hard about having a team make $81 mill?

And sometimes when you do get a high draft pick, a guy like Mark Prior comes around and is literally the savior of your franchise. I wouldn't necessarily mind a high draft pick. Maybe that's just me.
-
I second the notion, and I think the first act of buisness is to give everyone here who is either averaging 15 posts a day, has 2000+ posts, or is just f***ing cool, free season tickets. OK, the season ticket thing is probably a stretch, but it'd still be cool as hell, and we'd have people in the front office with a clue.

All I know is that our really good position prospects that will be All-Stars for years and years in a row are Reed and Webster....and Borchard, if you count him. Otherwise, I am f***ing clueless. First lessson. None of them are all stars for years to come. A LARGE majority of cant miss prospects, actually MISS. Paul Konerko was a can't miss prospect. Now he always misses...the ball that is(offensively and defensively). Or if he isn't missing the ball, he's grounding into a DP. I remember seeing the first round of the 1998 draft...and like half the guys are in the league and are putting up solid numbers somewhere. That was the year we drafted Kipper....and now he is pitching lights out in Pittsburgh. Will somebody please tell me what the hell happened to that guy? I've heard some rumblings about a hip condition similar to Albert Belles, but I would like more concrete info. Anybody know? His hip is very messed up. I know for a fact that he came up as a catcher in the LA farm system, but because of his hip, he had to move to either 3B or 1B. Since he is slow as hell and has little range, 3B just didn't work for him, so his only place to go was 1B. He obviously had a pretty accurate arm from behind the plate, because he turns the 3-6-3 like no other. He just has no range.
-
Yes, we can. Unfortunately, it will probably be someone like Joe Nossek, and not Manuel.
-
Yup. The only guy i can think of worth keeping is Ordonez. I assume you mean out of the guys making money. In that case....I do agree. If you meant out of starting players....and I highly doubt that, because it would be just plain stupid of you to say something like that....then I would disagree. Olivo, Borchard, Crede, and DJ(am I missing anyone) are the ones in the starting lineup that need to stay. Also....I'd keep one of Thomas/Konerko/Lee....preferably NOT Konerko....to stay and play 1B. Whether it be Thomas or Lee....I could give a s***. Lee is a hitter that will probably give us a .270-.300 25-30 80-100 season consistently, walking as much as he strikes out....but when Thomas gets hot....he can carry a team on his back. My beef with Thomas is that he doesn't get hot often enough. I believe that if he got hot over the next two months....we could keep the s***bricks that aren't producing right now and we'd be in first place by August. Thomas getting hot for two months is like saying pigs can fly. We then just go into retooling mode...because, IMO, we actually wouldn't be rebuilding. If I could...I'd keep Bart....but I'd get a ton for Esteban....just keep getting all the offers we can until July 31 comes along....and when the deadline hits....we take the best one...simple as that. I'd also trade away Gordon, Glover, Wunsch, and Koch and get what we can. I then make Damaso the full-time closer, for atleast 2004. If we can....try to get something for White. Hell, I'd be happy with Jon Adkins Jr for White...hell, I'd be throwing a f***in party if we got Jon Adkins Jr for White. I'd trade Garland too....unless the offers are all too s***ty. Our rotation for next year would be Colon, Buehrle, Garland(unless traded), Rauch, Stewart...and if Garland is traded....someone else brought in by FA. Our bullpen is Marte, Almonte, Diaz, Sanders, Wright, and Ginter(I realize Ginter isn't a lefty)/Munoz/some other lefty. Wright becomes the setup man, and is eventually moved into the closer's role.....05, 06, somewhere around there. That's all I got, because I don't have a damn clue about who we would trade our hitters for and what not.

Heck, Maggs can be Captain Obvious. As Colonel Obvious I outrank him... Well then maybe well call you Junior Obvious
