I am not sure....but I do know one thing. This team should be fired up and ready to kick some ass. That said, what do you bet that we don't score another run all game?

Thomas is killing the ball tonight...and the way Maggs has hit over the past week or so....I wouldn't give up hope quite yet. Get a run here...2 there....3 there....and you're winning by 6. Then again, I haven't seen the Sox do that yet this year. Atleast the Stinky-Twinkies are getting their asses handed to them. Pineiro....1 hitter through 6.

Barry interested in Anaheim
Hey, maybe in those two years, he decides his house sucks, he wants to move to Southern Chicago, and he says "Hey, the White Sox play close to here...I want to play there." And then he signs with us, after JR sells the team to Bill Gates, who in turn says "I'll outspend even the Yankees, because I have about $50 billion, or more then some small countries. My house is also the same size as those same small countries." And in a related topic, day dreaming is fun.

How the hell did we hold Tor to 2 runs in 2 games?
They're beating the Red Sox 11-2 right now....after 7 innings. By the end of this thing, the score could be 13-2 or 15-2. Are we good, was it lucky, or do we just have the Blue Jays number? I'm thinking it's a little of all 3....in this situation it was anyways.

We do too. Tony G. Yeah, that scares me as much as it scares you

Marte-Guerrier update
Because he traded for Colon....and he signed Esteban Loaiza. One trade does not make Kenny Williams a god. And anyone can sign people. Signing people to 1-year deals is not as difficult as making a trade.

It depends. If the home team is winning....and the top of the 5th has been played....the game becomes official. If it is a tie, like this one. If the visiting team is winning after the top of the 5th....the game is not official until either the home team takes the lead or the bottom of the 5th is over.

Esteban German, anyone?

D'Angelo
From what I've heard and what I understand....he is lazy defensively....not offensively. He is f***in awesome with the bat.

Matt Lawton
I am watching the game via Yahoo!, and I see Lawton's average is at .215....and it was down last year too, though he was hurt later in the season too(as I type, he gets a base-hit ). This guy was a very solid player in Minnesota, and put up some good numbers(hell, in 2000, he hit .305 with 13 homers, 88 RBIs, 91 walks and 63 K's... .405 OBP and an .865 OPS....I remember him hitting a walk-off dinger the day we clinched the division...I was there!). You wanna talk about a guy tanking....sheesh. Anyone know what the hell has happened?

D'Angelo
If we win this game by 1, that hustle by DJ is f***in huge.
-
D'Angelo
Goddamn. He may have little range defensively....but he's been our most consistent hitter all year, and losing him would hurt. Now that I know he's OK....was he safe?

Marlins
I have a question. If you want to have an interim manager just finish out the season so you don't have to interview during the regular season, do you have to interview minorities? Also....a hypothetical here....say I fire Frank Spank after the season....doesn't matter what race or ethnic group he is....and, when I interview Joe Blow, John Bonn, and Chuck Luck....who are all minorities.....do I then have to interview a majority(or a white person/caucasian/whatever else you want to call it), or have I followed the rules?

Commentary: Trading Colon Could be the Solution
Agreed. I presonally feel that we should sign Colon to a 5 year deal, with an option for the 6th....5-years, 60 mill seems about right in my book....with the option being worth $14-$16 mill. Also, if we look to just retool(because rebuilding, IMO, is not necessary....I personally believe we could be an 85-win team as early as next year, and competing heavily as early as 2005), then there is no point in trading for Beltran(though signing Cruz in the offseason would make this team look so much better), especially if we have to give up Jimenez, Hummel, and Reed....I don't mind Jimenez and Hummel as much....but Reed alone is too damn much. Also...if we can find someone to take Konerko....then I'm fine with keeping Thomas. One or the other has to go...and at this point, you gotta figure that, even though he is way overpaid, Konerko has more value. I'm still for trading him to Baltimore and taking on some of his salary....maybe $3 mill a year. It's OK, IMO, to have one player that slow on your team....but not two. If we can get 1-2 solid prospects for Konerko at this point....and they can become solid major league players....I am all for it. Also....if we want to retool....either Lee or Maggs has to be traded for some stud pitchers. I know Cinci wants some good, young starting pitching....and Oakland(though I hate to even bring Oakland into the picture because of Beane) could use a cheap young slugger....IMO....here is one thing we could do. Trade Maggs to Cinci, then Cinci trades Dunn or Kearns to Oakland, Oakland gives us that Harden kid, Cinci gets Harang, we give Oakland Garland, and Cinci gives us Dempster(to see if we can fix his problem, whatever the hell it is) Oakland's then has an OF of Byrnes-Singleton-Dunn/Kearns from left to right, our OF is Lee-Rowand-Borchard from left to right(note: Rowand is only in CF until Reed is ready...and we then try to keep Lee for another year or two until Webster is ready, at which time we move Reed to LF...and our OF is Reed-Webster-Borchard from left to right). Our rotation is Colon, Buehrle, Loaiza, Harden, and then one of Dempster, Rauch, Stewart, or someone else(maybe Arnie Munoz?). Cincinatti's OF from left to right is Kearns-Griffey-Maggs, and they can then trade Guillen anywhere where they could get some young pitching from(possibly Tampa, Detroit, Milwaukee, or some other crappy team like that that needs a little offensive help)....and Cinci's rotation is whatever it is now with Harang inserted into Dempster's spot. Our lineup could then be f***ed around with....you could have Jimenez, Lee, Thomas, Borchard, Crede, Daubach, Valentin(or whoever the SS is), Olivo, Rowand....or some s*** like that. I just feel that if that became our rotation....we'd have a killer rotation for years to come(whether or not Dempster does come out of his year and a half long funk....because we then still have Rauch and Wright to use as well). If Dempster/Rauch work out in the rotation, I then move Wright to the bullpen and groom him to be a closer. Our bullpen is then Koch, Wright, Marte, Sanders, Ginter, Glover for next year....maybe have Majewski or Almonte come up as well. We don't have Manuel as manager; instead, Wally Backman is making the calls. And, in a perfect world, Von Joshua would be back as hitting coach. You know what scares me the most out of this whole f***ing retooling thing? One Chicago team is actually going in the right direction, and that team didn't just change the name of their stadium. You figure out who I'm talking about.

He also got hit in the head with a baseball by Robert Fick. That may have helped lead to his demise as well. Suppose it just took us a year to get started? We'll see this weekend. Indians

ESPN "comedy"
Just wondering.... Do you have a mute button on your remote control? I do. Besides....if I want White Sox highlights....I HAVE to watch baseball tonight. If I turn the channel...with my luck(which has been pretty damn good tonight )....I'll miss the Sox highlights. What really gets me in a s***hole real f***ing quick is when I watch baseball tonight waiting for Sox highlights, and then they never show them...either they don't even mention the game, or they just show the boxscore. I just want to put my f***ing fist through my TV. I apparently don't mind the talking and "analyzing"(or whatever you want to call it) as much as some do....however, what that show should do is show an in-depth highlight of the games of the day, instead of just analyzing s***. With the internet, people can just go to espn.com and read all of the s*** they talk about and more. Maybe bring up a point or two about something(like the most important things of the night at the end....that is kind of neat). Doing an analysis after every f***ing highlight is goddamn bulls***. If that's what pisses people off...then I'm in the majority. FSN needs to just to a baseball highlight show. They never do that anymore. All they ever do is have shows about sports(and that's not always true...the BDSSP isn't always about sports....Snoop Dogg as a guest? Please...), and they don't have any shows about sports highlights...or atleast not with my FSN. Those are the only places I get sports highlights. I never did see Borchard's huge bomb from the other night.
