I have no idea how Chapelle is #1 here. Honestly, I never thought his standup was great. His show was awesome. Louis CK is amazing.

QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 12:03 PM) Glad to see the @Toronto series is on a weekend next year; that's the closet MLB park to me. Gonna try to get to NYC too. Cleveland always a possibility. God you have just the best sigs ever

Johnson, Semien make BA 2013 MiLB All Star Team

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 11:33 AM) Johnson and Rienzo to start with. I don't think Rienzo's really ever deserved it. He's been a talented pitcher, but he's also been pretty old for levels, he's never had numbers that wow you, there were questions about his ability to start in the majors (and frankly I think there still are), and he was busted for PEDs. Those all work heavily against him. Johnson was good last year, but I think people were skeptical due to the good, not great K numbers. He will be a top 100 prospect this year and could sneak into the top 50. -
I think really all Beasley offers the heat is a stretch-4 who can put it on the floor a little bit. Then again, with that team, they can pretty much put anybody anywhere and be successful

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 11:12 AM) I wish the opposite side of that were true, and that our pitchers got some love based on our history of developing them. Who could you make the argument for though? Sale was BA's 20th rated prospect prior to 2011. Quintana probably wouldn't have been ranked, but he was released by the Yankees prior to his success here. Santiago had made 15 starts at AA with rather mediocre peripherals. By the time they'd shown quality stuff and MLB success, you could no longer qualify them. Axelrod has some seriously good minor league numbers. He wasn't ranked, and for good reason too. (I still think Axelrod has some Bronson Arroyo like qualities) -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 10:31 AM) I don't want to come off as a Sanchez defender, but it seems like his offensive weapons have been taken away one by one and replaced with far inferior players. He went from a WR core of Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes, Brad Smith with Dustin Keller as a TE to a bunch of crap now. There's one offensive piece you can never take away from Mark Sanchez

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 10:25 AM) But it's true. Without context there's no answer to give. Oh I agree. I'm benching him, but I'm starting Stephen Jackson and Eddie Lacy at RB and FLEXing Anquan Boldin. I should probably be more concerned about that Seattle matchup, but I'm just gonna let it ride -
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 10:11 AM) I care because Sox minor league system is in the s***ter because of it. They're doing something about that now though. Maybe appreciate that rather than worrying about Ken Williams did as GM 4 years ago.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 09:00 AM) Mark Sanchez most likely done for the year, world gives no f***s http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=9663997 The bigger Mark Sanchez disaster this week is SportsCenter retiring butt fumble. 102 Minutes that Changes America is incredible. They don't show the planes hitting, but the moment the second plane hits, you're remembering it all over again

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 08:21 AM) If you were a football player on twitter and fans kept pestering you about being healthy and should they start you, would you mess with them? I would f***ing Terry Bradshaw -
The idea of "giving" someone away screams bad baseball management to me. It also screams short-sighted and/or non-attentive if you are still giving Dunn away failing to realize how good he has been since about June 8th or whenever.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 04:25 PM) Bonds was intentionally walked with the bases loaded. That is absurd. Even more absurd was how much he raked, and how few hittable pitches he actually saw Career Intentional Walks 1. Barry Bonds - 688 2. Hank Aaron - 293 3. who cares (it actually goes Pujols, McCovey, Guerrero, Griffey, Brett, Stargell, Murray, Robinson, Manny, yada yada whatever) Also, fun fact about career intentional walks - only 19 of the top 50 batted exclusively right handed

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 02:57 PM) Tigers fans also tend to be Wolverine and/or Red Wings fans, so they can all go f*** themselves! Most Bears fans are Cubs fans too. Plus, Cleveland fans are likely to be Ohio State fans too, which isn't much better (sorry Rock). I would prefer if no one but the White Sox won the Central division, but having been mathematically eliminated for about a week now, we'll just have to wait until next year

It really is ironic that the two players who saved baseball fewer than 5 years after a strike wiped out the World Series are being shunned by the MLB when the MLB knew that atleast one of these guys - McGwire - had muscle enhancing drugs in his locker. Yes, I know Cal did his thing in 1995 and that was nice, but there were still a ton of people bitter about baseball. Then - home runs! - and popularity's back up again

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 03:36 PM) Single season UZR isn't a great indicator of future performance, unfortunately, which is why so many people don't like it. It's a good descriptor, but a bad predictor. Right. Frankly, defense is also dependent upon scouting, coaching, and the defense of others around you too. Guys typically do not improve their defense, but it is not unheard of nor uncommon. I've seen Jay make some really good plays in the outfield in the past, but that doesn't make him a strong defender. End of the day, I have no problem if the Sox were to bring in Jon Jay in a small trade - I like De Aza, so there's no reason I'd dislike Jay - I just think they need to aim for younger players than that.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) I didnt mean he would be available in FA, I meant its a good time to trade for him while his stock is low. Oh, yeah, well in that case, yes, it is a great time to trade for him The one guy who is available in like 1 out of 6 leagues right now is Josh Gordon, and I don't understand that one bit -
FWIW Kyle, I agree with you, and, no matter how many steroids he smoked, I will always remember watching Bonds from 01-04 and thinking "I am never going to see anybody play this well again, even if he is on steroids"

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 02:13 PM) Cecil Shorts is a good buy low right now with Henne the probable QB now. Really though, if he's available, the other people in your league are idiots. I think he went in round 7 or 8 of our 12 team league, and we had a 16 round draft -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 12:16 PM) So much for Le'veon Bell coming back week 3....Said to be about a month a away....Still don't regret dumping Redman even though he's really all the have left. This leaves my Flex2 options between Eifert, Marlon Brown, and either Sudfeld or whoever I drop for Sudfeld. I've got a waiver claim out on Gresham and Alshon who for whatever reason were both dropped after decent games. Other intriguing names on the FA market include- Bilal Powell/Santana Moss/Dwayne Allen/Kenny Stills/Doug Baldwin/Brandon Gibson. Oh and of course Redman who I just released for Pryor. If I miss out on Gresham/Jeffery who should I go with? My guys Eifert or Brown? One of the FAs? Sudfeld=/? Jesus, this is the saddest sad to ever sad. Powell and Moss are probably your best options out of that bunch -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) Not a fan of Stephen A at all but Skip is in his own category of awful, that guy is an egotistical moron who can't even speak. I believe that Tim Tebow would be the best wide receiver on his team if he were throwing to himself

Forever f*** the Indians. I will honestly always prefer Detroit win it over them. And, while it could be kind of cool to see Kansas City in, I hate them for spoiling the Sox so many times, and their magic number is already down to 11 anyways and they're 7 games back.
