QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 01:12 AM) I'm assuming contenders will be shipping us prospects. So I think my prediction of two former 10th rounders is about right for Crain. I mean you can't believe a team will give up hot-shot prospects for a 33-year-old reliever. Not sure why you are set on talking about prospects in the round they were drafted in. I mean, you talk about former 1st rounders but I surely wouldn't take prospects like Jared Mitchell or Bryan Bullington for Crain. But a couple of 10th rounders? Sure I'll have Greg Holland, Desmond Jennings, Tommy Milone, Kris Medlen, or Peter Bourjos for him. Just say "good prospects" or "mediocre prospects" or whatever. Referencing them by the round they were drafted in, after 2-3 years in a minor league system, is dumb.

You = Hahn. Do you heavily shop Reed, Yes or No?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) Exactly. Axelrod screams mediocrity/independent league ball again soon. Yeah, I just don't see that happening. He's a major league pitcher. -
Do you want Ventura back as manager next year?

I would projective vomit all over USCF if Ozzie were rehired. -
Number of times they've been forced to retire Aaron Hernandez: 1 Mario Williams: 0

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 27, 2013 -> 07:27 PM) And yet the White Sox, in their staggering wisdom, let him go. Unprecedented. Not sure if serious

Doc Rivers calling him an idiot without calling him an idiot was the best moment of the draft last night
-
Oh wow, Quintana grew his hair out. Looks really nice

I covered the draft so hard last night that my head hurts and I couldn't sleep and I had to stay up and pwn n00bs on Madden and now I'm tired and I suck at comprehension.

Sounds like a guy that has the ability to create his own shot. Think you have to like that.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 10:07 AM) I would truly fear for any infielder if that were to happen Because they would hurt their necks spinning around so fast from watching a ball fly out of the atmosphere? -

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 08:53 AM) Few things, Ramirez can play second and third and spent some time (all be it two days I believe in CF) there is a real market for him as he has great versatility Sale, Santiago, and Quintana are three things you start a rebuild with This team needs a change in offensive philosophy the TWTW is not the answer OBP is and this team has non of it. Trade it all right now Mr Hahn the fans are done with this team, your table is ready, enjoy. The only way you trade Ramirez and get value for him is as a shortstop. Also, I'm sure it's the same as the Heyman report, but when it's posted on the front page of the Sox site, it sorta makes it official. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...ws&c_id=cws -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 08:32 AM) Deadspin had a few pictures of him up, there is a huge knot on his cheek where the puck hit him. http://deadspin.com/andrew-shaw-is-more-sw...n-man-599312471 That's where I saw them originally, but rather than post the link and show the pictures, ie DISCREDITING MYSELF, I figured I'd just say "Shaw's face is funked" so as to make people believe that Andrew Shaw and I are close pals and only when I saw him for the first time since his cup run did I see his face. -
Gordon Beckham: Player of the Decade and future HOFer
witesoxfan replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If you watch his doubles to RF, he is back to backspin Beckham, hitting bullets on the lower half of the fastball. This is relevant because those balls travel further. I would re-sign Beckham so fast right now it hurts. -
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 08:55 AM) C Phegley 1B Kyle Blanks 2B Keppinger SS Alexi Amarista 3B Gillespie/Morel LF Viciedo CF Danks RF Corey Hart DH Viciedo SP Chris Sale SP Erik Johnson SP John Danks SP Jose Quintana SP Tyson Ross/Gavin Floyd CL Ramon Tronosco RP Nate Jones RP Jhan Marinez RP Santos Rodriguez RP Donnie Veal RP Joey Devine Trade Santiago, Crain, and Flowers to the Padres for Blanks, Amarista, Ross, Adys Portillo and Cory Spangenberg. Bullpen is basically a revolving door while the Sox evaulate guys from the system that can be long term contributors. Of course other deals will bring back players as well, but I they will probably not all be ready to contribute on opening day. I understand the whole "rebuilding, who cares what side" argument regarding the lineup, but this division is far too right handed to be using a lineup that right handed. Also, if they signed Corey Hart and added 0 other hitters, it would be the most pointless exercise in exercising exercises that I'd exercise my right to pound my exercised head against a brick wall, which will also be exercised.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 07:31 AM) We won last night 7-2, I was 2/3 with a double 1 RBI and 2 runs. Our team is 6-1 and if the top team lost then we will be in first due to tiebreaker and RDiff You should tweet and see if Frank will come play for you some night. -

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 27, 2013 -> 09:32 PM) That is exactly why we are where we are right now. We draft guys who are 4+ years away that have raw talent that needs to be developed and wait on. This really couldn't be any further from the truth. -

QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 07:43 AM) This announcement will make the next 5 weeks a bit more interesting, but, aside from the pitching staff, this team is the rough equivalent of an above average AAA team, at best. I don't think we we will be getting any dazzling offers from other organizations. Still, I like the aggressive stance and hope Hahn is up to it. These players all destroyed AAA. That's why it's a minor league team and they are on a major league team. I f***ing hate when people say s*** like this. An "above average AAA" team was the 2003 Tigers. They won 43 games. -
