QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 02:51 PM) ounds like Microsoft is backtracking heavily on its plans for the Xbox One. Should hear more today or tomorrow. Wow if so. If so, it's better to admit you made a mistake and fix it then to stubbornly stick by a flawed product and fail.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 02:48 PM) Just wait till he's the starting te He'd have such a huge target on his back.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) Well, sarcasm =/= for seriously. I was being super cereal too EDIT: the second time. I may have been fighting a mini-hangover early this morning

Delmonico seems like a nice piece, and he's hitting for a lot of power as a 20 year old. Judging his numbers and scouting reports, he sounds like Konerko (except left handed). A guy the Sox will look at too is Urrutia, but with the way he's hitting, I can't imagine the Orioles trading him without first giving him a shot. He'd be a real nice piece to add too.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 08:27 AM) For the second part, LeBron losing his headband is already forgotten about - it was just funny. No one anywhere is going to compare this to the flu game or Kirk Gibson on one leg. followed by QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) Can we get back to the real debate here? Should Lebron where a headband or not?! Someone start a poll. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 01:59 PM) Don't you worry, they asked him in a media session just 30 minutes ago - and the headband will be worn! WHAT THE f*** DID I TELL YOU!

They can go ahead and give Dylan Bundy, I won't mind

You're Hahn, who are you looking to trade first?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 12:05 PM) To gain compensation for Crain, you would have to offer him a 1 year deal for over $12 million. That isn't going to happen. Not even close -
On #5, are they talking about like actually falling into the stands? That's how I read it. As in, Uribe's play would have been fine because he was still in the field of play, although his body had fallen into the stands

Zombie theme park seems the best.

Crain hasn't been a model of health either, as he's had troubles with his obliques pretty much every year. And you're right that he'll be a mid-tier closer. If his agent is smart, he'll end up with about $7 mill a year on his next deal. That's too much for a rebuilding White Sox team to pay a set up guy. -
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) Keep voting Democrat guys! We swear, it works! Chicago is looking at this future as well, you could argue it's already here. OK, I'll shoot. What's the argument?

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 09:51 AM) If this is the case I would argue that we keep Crain and sign him for a couple more years. He Jones and Reed, if we believe Addison is the answer to our closer need, can really solidfy that 7-8-9th inning close out of games. No -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 09:48 AM) Yeah, I don't know about Wade. He looked like the broke dick dog from Family Guy last night. I think it was zoom that suggested that Miller/Allen start game 7. I think I agree. He looked slow and beat up, but he can still work within the lane, beat a guy one on one, and draw fouls.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 09:27 AM) And the Spurs got away with some blantant hacks too. For the most part, they let them play on both ends, and that's what we'd all want to see if it didn't involve the Heat. Everyone needs to pull away from the Heat hate and just enjoy a great game. Oh I agree completely, that's why I said I didn't mind. --- Somehwat relevant, I don't think you can trust Manu right now, as he played terrible again. Game 7 is going to fall on him a lot. LBJ, Duncan, Parker, and to some extent Bosh and Wade will get their's, but if Manu shows up, it's going to be tough for Miami to do much.
-
I had no problem with them as no-calls, but the refs missed two pretty blatant fouls on the Spurs last two possessions. Bosh hacked Green on that last play too.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 05:52 PM) Mitchell and Walker neither one top 10 prospects at this point just more in the long line of wasted first round picks. The last Yankee 1st rounder to pitch in the majors - Andrew Brackman, 2.1 IP, drafted in 2007. The last ones to do anything of note are Chamberlain and Kennedy, and Hughes has been valuable too. Before that? Eric Milton (1996; not with the Yankees), Brian Buchanan (1994; not with the Yankees), or Derek Jeter. They've taken talented players - Gerrit Cole and Mark Prior - but they didn't sign. So, in other words, quit f***ing b****ing about late first round and sandwich picks.

Welcome aboard. Not sure. We post minor league stuff in the minor league section. I moved it thusly.
-
I shouldn't say they don't "deserve" it, but that Spurs choke is monumental. The Heat still have to hit those two 3's, but the Spurs had that game in the bag twice and still lost. I really don't see any way they can come come back from that

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 11:17 PM) Worst player paid over $10 million per season by the Sox. Rios in 2011 would be close. Although some would argue John Danks in 2012, albeit not fair when he was injured for most of last season. Well considering it was only 15 years ago that Albert Belle signed the biggest contract in baseball history for like $50 million, yeah, I'm sure. He's not the biggest free agent bust in White Sox history either. Nobody would argue John Danks in 2012. Nobody. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 08:13 AM) His 2011 was the worst season in White Sox history though. There is no argument here. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 08:18 AM) There's a lot of HEAT HATE around here, but man, that game was an all-timer. That said - Heat fans of course left early, we all noticed it on the Manu free throws. Here's a wonderful compilation by Deadspin, including some great tweets from an area reporter just disgusted with the Heat "faithful". Enjoy. http://deadspin.com/hundreds-of-heat-fans-...-laug-514254371 I can admit a great game when I see one, but you're lying to yourself if you say that Miami deserved it. They choked too, the Spurs just choked worse. LeBron losing his headband is going to be talked about forever too, which is STUPID. My buddy texted me about it and I responded with "That's because he's heroic. Jordan scored a million points with food poisoning, Kirk Gibson homered on one leg, and LeBron took over in the 4th quarter without his headband."

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 19, 2013 -> 02:23 AM) And if John Paxson doesn't hit the three in '93 who knows what happens (game 7 would be on the road)? If Rodman doesn't gobble up every rebound in site in games 2 and 6 in 1996 vs the Sonics what happens? If the Jazz don't get screwed out of 5 points in game 6 in '98 (with Pippen being all but done with a bad back and game 7 would be on the road) what happens? The Jordan myth has become bigger than reality, which is pathetic because the reality is already THAT good. Jordan never had a bad game. Jordan never got outplayed. Jordan never had a bad series. It's pretty pathetic now. The pressure LeBron has on him is unprecedented. Is some of it deserved? Yes. Not one, not two, not three, etc, was not the best thing he could've said. But the internet, social media, 24-hour news cycles, 8 billion blogs, etc, etc, dwarfs anything Michael or anybody before him had to go through. If LeBron wins, yeah, he's great, but he had to join two other stars. If LeBron loses, hahahaha, LeBron sucks, no matter what the other two do. It's all deserved and, fact of the matter is, he did have to join two stars. You can argue that he was merely leaving for a more competent organization, but everyone and their mom wants to sign with the Heat now for a mid-level or the vet min just to try and win a title, so they always have depth and talent on the roster now. He played great in the 4th quarter last night, but it wasn't LeBron who won that game so much as it was the Spurs who lost it. They're the primary reason we're having a game on Thursday.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) Obviously, but I was responding to Greg saying Dunn is the worst player in White Sox history. Dunn isn't even the worst player in the last 10 years. Probably not even close. -
My problem with dealing Peavy this year is that you won't get anywhere near max value coming off an injury like he is. If you do, then by all means, make the trade, but I fail to see that situation coming up. I have no problem waiting on him. I also have no problem dealing a guy like Santiago or Quintana if you get sufficient value either in terms of prospects (plural) or prospect (singular). Not that this exactly is going to happen because they continually pull starting pitching out of their ass, but if the Cardinals offered Taveras straight up for Quintana, you don't think twice.

QUOTE (balfanman @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 08:50 AM) Doesn't the Cape Cod league use wooden bats instead of aluminum? seems to me I've heard that several prospects have weak showings there due to that. Or it could be that I'm old and senile and simply delusional in my "misremembrance" of things (not teal for a good reason). You are definitely not wrong, but they are also using far weaker aluminum bats in college now. You don't really see guys like Matt LaPorta hitting .400 or whatever anymore.

I'm not entirely sure KC is a viable trading partner right now. Neither of these teams are going to want to trade a guy that could turn into a stud and get beat by them for years and years when both will be entering a semi-rebuilding period.
