QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jan 28, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) He is a product of the Bears system... more of the same. I just hope better than JA. Hard not to be I guess. So, if this were the case, you don't like that a company sees that a former employee has taken off and become a great manager with a subsidiary and then bring him back? That is, for lack of a better term, stupid. -

Must be nice to have greg on ignore. Oh wait, I do. -
You are forgetting the 3rd option, which is C.) I got chocolate wasted and I don't care who wins or loses. That is how I would feel, no matter who the US played in whatever.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 05:26 PM) Nats got Lidge for 1 yr/$1M, and the PHILLIES were the ones who gave him a lowball offer? Holy s***, I would love to have Brad Lidge for $1M, and that's not just the Notre Dame fan in me talking either. Being a fan of Notre Dame baseball is more absurd than being a fan of Duke football.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 09:55 AM) Its not like a guy who has hit 600+ homers could teach kids anything, right? Probably not. Maybe how to strike out (and I'm not even talking about the good kind here). -
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 27, 2012 -> 02:17 PM) I'm still pissed that KotOR3 never got made. I am too. They even had a few screen shots of the game play.

Well then, I guess I'm a 1L. wait what? good friend (not a professional basketball player) in town to watch a high school friend (is a professional basketball player) play some ball for the Iowa Energy. They're based out of Des Moines. Love the guy, can't wait to drink with him, can't wait to watch him play. Seriously hope he plays in an arena near you, very, very, very soon.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 01:13 PM) I've mentioned this a few times in here...the difference between a crappy NFL team and a very good NFL team is very small...the devil is in the details in a lot of these things... Which is why I get excited about the Bills next year, yet while I keep my expectations tempered. They need a few things, and getting in a tight end who can be a safety valve for Fitzpatrick if he gets in trouble would be nice (Scott Chandler is simply not that guy). This would also involve Gailey doing something he has generally never done offensively at any point in time, but perhaps he can make an adjustment to his own philosophy, as opposed to Martz never doing so. They also need some help on defense, but it was a generally young defense with a rather uncreative defensive coordinator. I look forward to seeing what Wannestedt can do with that defense. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) I know it doesnt mean anything in terms of a legacy, but making it to 4 consecutive Super Bowls is a MUCH bigger accomplishment then winning 1. That said he obviously would trade 3 of those trips for 1 ring. f***ing Norwood -

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 08:52 AM) The Tigers did get better. Better than yesterday. 2 wins better than 2 weeks ago. If Cabrera can play even a passable 3B, then they are 5 wins better today then they were yesterday, and they will add those 5 wins to the 3 wins that Martinez puts up next year. That lineup definitely has a chance to score 900 runs. They could be really, really good. -
Ozzie the Clown. What an incredibly fitting nickname.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 12:04 PM) I sorta get the joke, but it doesn't fit that well. The media will crucify this guy to no end, but there won't be a public outpouring of support from the media like there has been for Paterno. To be fair, I don't know if there is necessarily a Joe Paterno in this situation.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) Their late bullpen looks better. They have Verlander, Prince, & MCab. But it's not like the rest of their team is anything special. Verlander, Fielder, and Cabrera could combine for 20 fWAR. It will, barring anything completely out of the norm, take 5 White Sox players to match 20 WAR. I think the Tigers are going to win 100 games this year.

The Red Sox are more interested in Soler. I think they will end up with him. -

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 10:37 AM) I know everyone is down on Kyle Williams but if Alex Smith wouldn't have done his imitation of Tebow, Niners would in the SB. He could have played better, but that was a Giants defense that held Aaron Rodgers to a 78.5 QB rating and forced him into 2 turnovers in their postseason matchup (he has 6 turnovers in the regular season, all interceptions). There were a few throws that Smith should have made that he didn't, but I really don't think any of them would have been significant enough to matter a whole hell of a lot in the end. Alex Smith did about what he was supposed to do in that game. Meanwhile, both of Kyle Williams' fumbles led directly to points, and neither fumble could have come at a worse time. -
I only got like 1 or 2 questions like that, and for both of them I gave a couple different scenarios I've been in and my reasoning behind my actions in both of them. I actually think I interviewed pretty well, and they seem to need a lot of help pretty much right away, so I am feeling really good about it right now. Just have to cross my fingers at this point. Even if it ultimately is just a temporary 10 month position, I would love to have any experience I can get having to do with anything financially.

2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread
witesoxfan replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's not a fall off quite that of Dunn, because it is damn near impossible to find one like that, but here are Pablo Sandoval's OPS's from 2009, 2010, and 2011, with the idea that it had a little bit to do with weight fluctuations. 2009 - .943 2010 - .732 2011 - .909 This is one in a list of many of guys who have rededicated themselves to fitness and getting back into shape to see them return close to their career norms. Considering Sandoval's career has been short thus far, there is no saying what exactly his true talent level is, but this is one possible outcome. You can look at Frank Thomas too. You can also look at Richie Sexson and see that as a possible outcome. It is definitely a possible outcome. -
Have a job interview for a Temporary Credit and Collections position with Montana-Dakota Utilities tomorrow, which is actually based out of Bismarck. The deadline for the application was actually last Monday and, after applying for about 4 or 5 other positions within the company, I was finally called back for an interview, and it's scheduled for tomorrow (in fact, all of their interviews will be done tomorrow and Wednesday...I obviously have no idea how many people they called in for an interview, but it seems as though they'd like to hire someone quickly). It's, at the minimum, a 10 month gig, and on the phone the interviewer suggested that they were going to try and make it into a full-time position at some point down the road. I also think I know the guy who will be interviewing me, which can't hurt. What difficult questions should I be looking for? I have a pretty good idea as to a few, but this site only lists questions and no answers, so I have no idea how I'd answer a couple of them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:07 PM) Doubtful. You know who the Sox really need to sign? Pedro Lopez. I have no doubt that the 2 hits (in 8 PAs) and the 18 innings he played in 2 games had a significant effect that team winning a World Series. Can you imagine this team with Pedro Lopez on it? My GOD. (no DPBLers, not that Pedro Lopez, he's not only fake, he's also a douche)
