QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 16, 2007 -> 12:37 AM) You claimed Clemens' evidence is off of hearsay. I'm saying, technically you could say Bonds' is off of hearsay too. Only difference between Clemens and Bonds is Clemens didn't say he took it by accident. And he's just speaking through his lawyer. At least Barry had the balls to speak to people on his own. In front of a grand jury, mind you.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 08:43 PM) Totally selfish, Bonds, Clemens, Giambi, et.al. all cared enough to inject to make themselves and their team better. So money is no factor either? And their desire to hurt themselves to make more money isn't selfish?

this thread, and others like it, really sadden me. Do people seriously not realize how bad Jason Tyner really is?

You're the GM. Firesale is the plan.

JR doesn't spend money; he is only the chairman of a team that has a $100+ mill payroll. Get real people. They spend money, they just have a s***load of bad contracts. -
Hall of Famer voters speak out about Clemens

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 15, 2007 -> 08:04 PM) I don't think Clemens is the greatest pitcher of his generation. I count Maddux, Martinez and Johnson better than him. Can anyone tell me why he's better than any of those guys? I think Martinez has a clear-cut greater peak. Maddux has, I think, a greater career with no evidence or trace of steroid use (although some argue that he doctors the ball, but I couldn't care less about that as I don't believe in throwing a fit over Gaylord Perry or anyone else). And I do believe that Maddux career is better than Clemens' career even without giving note to Clemens + steroids. Johnson? He was a beast. agreed on all accounts. -
Willie, come to USD and get drunk every weekend with me

The Cardinals are smart and realize that their team is in shambles and that without a rebuild, they are going nowhere. Right now, the best comparison to the Sox that I can think of in baseball is the St. Louis Cardinals. It almost appears that they are starting to rebuild.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 07:36 PM) They got a king's ransom for Mulder (Daric Barton, Dan Haren, and Kiko Calero) and turned out to rob St. Louis blind, so I can't agree with this. They got a very underwhelming package for Mulder (Charles Thomas, Dan Meyer, and Juan Cruz) that worked out to look even worse 3 years later than it did on the day of the trade, but Hudson was coming up on a contract year, and I believe that deal was the winter before said season. I like to take Haren out of the Mulder package for a second, and just include what they got for him in there instead. Essentially, 8 players for Mulder, several of them top prospects; that's how you build a baseball team. QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 07:42 PM) Konerko for Chris Young + ??? Arizona hangs up the phone

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 06:07 PM) Dude, Bonds in one of our jerseys is disgusting enough. it's all a joke at this point anyways

QUOTE(JPN366 @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 06:46 AM) Randy Winn!? Brilliant! That sounds like a guy Williams would trade a top prospect for. That would definitely go to the top of the list of bad trade ideas Kenny Williams could think of. No matter who he traded for him. I can already see it now...Egbert and Fields for Winn. He has tried to trade Fields like one time; the player he was getting back was Miguel Cabrera. Miguel Cabrera. Not Randy Winn. ...but Miguel Cabrera.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 01:25 PM) Move would make too much sense for the White Sox, so it won't happen. How would it make "too much" sense?

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 03:20 PM) I hope Hendry makes that move. Then I can laugh when Marmol does better two years from now. this year. However, if they are going for it, it'd be a good move for the Cubs for the short term. There's just something in the water in Minnesota. I really don't have any doubt that Marmol would be better than Nathan next year if the two swapped teams. -
So I took a girl to the emergency room last night because she drank too much and ended up puking and passing out in a bathroom; end of that story, she's OK, but during the process, she puked in my back seat. 100% honestly, it's probably the worst smell I've ever smelled in my life. And I've smelled nasty s***, sometimes just out of curiosity. I mean, adrenaline flowing through my body and everything and it was raunchy. It was just that damn nasty.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) I'd be livid if the Sox reached on Danks when they finally have a relatively high selection. as would I, and the selection of Danks in the first should be a precursor to the firing of Ken Williams.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 12:25 PM) My girl on the other hand....may fall out of equilibrium on the crazy/hot scale. She's ridiculously hot, but she's also ridiculously crazy and stupid. so basically you just put on a wig and look in the mirror?

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 09:49 AM) I like to think Bourgeois could be a major league player, but he's a bit old to call a prospect. Shelby perhaps. And I personally think that Sergio Miranda may turn out to be something. Plus there are some guys way down in Rookie ball that its too early to tell. Not an impressive list of position player prospects. I agree on Bourgeois on both accounts; I don't consider a guy who would only start on a very bad team to be a prospect, but as a guy who seems to have the ceiling of a utility player, he may make it.

someone needs to make a sweet ass Frank wallpaper/sig, or many of them, because I have a boner for him right now

QUOTE(Linnwood @ Dec 14, 2007 -> 03:23 AM) In the court of public opinion, it is more than enough proof. Which is why Roger Clemens is guilty as s*** god I just love saying that

QUOTE(max power @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 01:25 AM) Unlike what seems to be every soxtalk member oh we love the relief prospects. Like the Fabio Castro's, Jay Marshall's, Fernando Hernandez's; we just don't like that Ryan Sweeney is the best offensive prospect, and that I'm not sure I can truthfully name another offensive prospect who is actually considered good (Shelby, maybe? Cuz I'm not about to include Getz in on this)
