  1. Let's face it guys. Our season most likely will come to a close on Thursday night, and we watched all year, had ALL OF THESE chances to extend the lead in September and couldn't do it. If we don't win tonight most likely we're getting swept, and when Kubel gets a triple you know, this season is OVA
  2. Why do I feel we're in for a bloodbath the next 3 days????
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) Because I don't want to spend the rest of my life seeing the Twins win the AL Central with inferior talent but better fundamentals. The Twins and Royals are just going to get better and better, and the Tigers and Indians won't be any worse next year either. If they win, that would be five titles in seven years...the White Sox would have just two in nine years. There's simply no excuse for that with the type of budget the White Sox have. No excuse is right. You look at all the games we lost in the last 4 weeks where we were ok with bringing in Horacio or Wasserman and now you know every game counts. We will get swept in Minnesota most likely so do the math on what we need to do win this division. f*** next year I am sick of watching a whole season just to see them finish off like a bunch of pussies.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) big comeback win for the twins; will it spur them to the title? maybe WE SUCK
  5. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) When we get some distance from this season, especially considering the CQ injury, i think there's no way to look at that season as other than a positive. We got some young studs that we didnt expect from what was to be a geriatric team. I'm talking CQ, Alexei, Floyd, Danks. If some of the older guys can produce next year, we'll still be looking good in this division. I dont know that i want all the older guys around, but i dont want a total rebuild either since we were such a power hitting team this yr. It's just so disappointing to lose a pennant race AGAIN to the Twins. You just have a feeling we're going down, and there's nothing we can do about it. If we still have the lead by the time we go into Minny and accept our bloodbath I'll be surprised. We'll probably get swept in KC
  6. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 09:03 PM) DROPPED f***ING FLYBALL? It's only a matter of time before they win. At least they are trying, unlike us. We're sending out Horrible Ramirez on the mound in close games. What do we expect?
  7. Neither team deserves it but what a joke that we can't even take care of our business. It's ridiculous.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 08:41 PM) I think Horacio Ramirez might just be the worst pitcher in baseball right now. It's really embarassing we even have him on our team right now. He is the second coming of Juan Agosto. Oh, and a bit of Andy Gonzalez last year because of Ozzie's seemingly love affair with him despite his absolutely clearly minor league talent...I just don't get Ozzie sometimes with these decisions
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 08:34 PM) So let me get this straight...we pull our starters, but leave in our two most fragile players in PK and Griffey? If anything, get Swisher in the game and see if he can get some confidence. It's a good point. There's no reason for either of these guys to be in the game.
  10. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 08:17 PM) Like we all thought, it will all come down to the series in Minny. At this point in time, all the Sox have to do is take 1 up there. Things could change however. For the record, KC has won 7 in a row. At this point I would say winning 2 out of 3 there would be a miracle based on the way we're playing on the road. And then we'll walk into the lions den in Minny when we should have already clinched and instead only be up a game or two and then get our asses handed to us. What a bunch of b****es we are. What a colossal collapse this will be if/when it happens...sorry just need to vent here I am so pissed
  11. QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 08:02 PM) Ummm. 5 1/2 is max if both the Sox and Twins lose tonight. 6 in the LOSS column which is the ONLY THING that matters
  12. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 08:01 PM) This smells of a huge f***ing chokejob. Only saving grace is that the twins are facing the Rays, and not the Royals Every road win is like pulling teeth. And I got news for the fans out there...anyone who thinks we can easily take 2/3 or even sweep the Royals is seriously f***ed as this team is horrible on the road....the only chance we have is if TB sweeps right now, seriously.
  13. We better be 6 up going into the Minnesota series otherwise I will not be comfortable. Most people would not agree with me but right now I think we're playing worse than Minnesota and given that they have 3 games to finish at home vs KC, you can see where I am going. At least we have four games at home to finish if you include the makeup game...I can't recall seeing such a horrible road team and such a good home team? Although perhaps our 2003 team was like this as well...
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 07:50 PM) we could hope that mussina stiffened up on the bench Well at least Ramirez only gave up 100% of his IR... Joke the guy is HORRIBLE I'd rather suit up Charlie Hough
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 06:17 AM) 84-66 +2.5 games over MN. And 3 in the loss column which is really all that matters with 12 to play (and possibly 11 if we don't have to play the makeup against Det)
  16. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 09:24 PM) Man, Joe Nathan. Grass isnt always greener... we at least have Bobby/Thorndog. There..well i dont know whats going on there. MERCY! That a boy Martinez! That's officially the first time I rooted for Martinez as well....YES
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) Even regular relievers look amazing compared to the junk that was pitching earlier for the Indians. Do the Twins go with Nathan in the 10th?
  18. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 08:38 PM) Wow The only way to get Mauer out is to hope he hits it hard right at someone....just like he did! C'mon Tribe lets get one across in the 9th!
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) sizemore. ozzie just popped a chub. That a boy Grady! I love to see him talking some junk rounding the bases as well
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 08:10 PM) Ha. 0-2 to Delmon Young and he throws a pitch he can hit. Young swings at everything. Throw it out of the zone, dips***. Pathetic. The Twins have had the bases loaded like 4 or 5 times in the last 4 innings. 4 walks by Bettancourt this INNING alone. What a disappointing game almost as bad as a White Sox loss blowing it in the 9th if they don't come back here, which I don't see happening
  21. QUOTE (MAX @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 08:06 PM) God damn it. Double. Mauer on third. Morneau on 2nd. 8-8. At least we put a win in the books. How ridiculous is this game. The Indians pen is so sad...8 walks tonight by Indians pitching
  22. I am afraid to ask who is closing for the Indians now??
  23. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 01:15 PM) Does their pussy hurt? Really? we had a double header the DAY before this game, the Twins were losing, most of our top relievers werent available. It happens, another game off the magic number. I hate this attitude that we can afford to lose a game right now that we're 2 games up in the loss column. In a few days we can be really regretting that attitude. It could happen we get blown out tonight and wish we went hard for the win yesterday...especially with how bad we suck on the road
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 01:45 PM) The only person who wasn't available yesterday was Thornton (according to pregame). These guys had 2 days off prior to the DH on Sunday. MacDougal in the 7th, Dotel in the 8th, Jenks for the 9th. There's really no excuse to ever use Wassermann, Ramirez, or Logan in a close game with the way the standings are. AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
