QUOTE (almagest @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 08:50 AM) You're right, but some people don't care about that. They need a scapegoat, and Ozzie's convenient. Don't get me wrong I like Ozzie as a manager because he's the boss and he runs the clubhouse, no personality is stronger. However, I would bring in MacDougal a million times before Horrible Ramirez. With all the s*** he gets he STILL has a 1.88 ERA and he proved he was a worthy pen guy over the other two bums yesterday I see in the box score. And if Thornton AND Liney AND Dotel were not available, then, s***, I guess we have no other options but that's just ridiculous when every game counts? Does their pussy hurt? What is the problem? BS. Those guys will have plenty of rest beginning on September 29th if they keep going in this direction.
-
I missed the game last night but in checking the box score I CANNOT f***ING BELIEVE Ozzie put Ramirez and Wasserman in a TIED game in the 7th Inning. Everyone on this forum knows the game was over at that point. What a joke. Ozzie's a great manager but his in game decisions have always sucked. Doesn't he know these guys are mop up duty guys? It's like the whole Andy Gonzalez thing except in the bullpen all over again....MERCY we're in a f***ING PENNANT RACE OZZIE!!!!

I think it would be a miracle we walk out of Yankee stadium with a split. And that's a joke to say that given how they have a mediocre team and are not playing for much. This isn't a playoff worthy team right now, even though I'd love to see them make it and who knows maybe catch lightning in a bottle...

QUOTE (Felix @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 06:16 PM) Agreed. I'd much rather have Anderson in CF and Wise in LF, but that would never happen because Griffey is a legend and has a bunch of gold gloves. Has ANYONE called Ozzie out on this madness of playing Anderson in LF? I realize Griffey has never played LF but give me a break...

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 06:10 PM) Granderson pops meekly to short. Good start. Found it. Had to hit gameday audio then tap into the 1.2M espn feed. Strange.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 06:03 PM) You have to love Joe Morgan putting Gary Sheffield at the top of the list of the dangerous Tigers hitters. Is this game really starting in one minute? I don't see it on MLB.TV (I am out of the area) and whitesox.com is telling me the game is starting in an hour

QUOTE (chiguy79 @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 06:34 PM) I want game 2 bad...a 1.5 game lead seems much larger than 0.5. Agreed. Another great start from Javy...MB needs to take notes on how he's manning up. We absolutely positively need to rock Rogers tonight, somehow someway. BA should start in center as he hits him well -

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 05:12 PM) This team has a nice chance here as the Tigers should really not care about these games while the Sox have everything to get up for. Yet Vazquez really seems to be the only guy really jazzed up. It's a joke. This team needs to MAN UP and perform for Javy. He's been turning in nothing but good starts for the last 4-6 weeks and I get the feeling our teams puss__y has been hurting it seems. Ridiculous. And this is most likely why this team won't make the playoffs. Weak. -

QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Sep 14, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) Whats the latest on the games??? In looking at the radar, almost ALL of the rain is gone so this game should be starting within an hour or so assuming that's all they need to get the field ready....which may be hard to say as it's been raining the last 3 days but supposedly the cell drains exceptionally well. -

Play the radar map in motion. http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interac...pnav_undeclared Based on it's current direction and speed looks like 2-3 more hours of rain and then nothing in site. I hope that field drains well!! (which I believe it does) -
So hopefully we get both games in tomorrow. Even so, when do we play the 3rd game of the series? The Monday before the Twins series?? Brutal

Hawk and Stoney are the sh&*. This is great news. DJ's not a bad guy but the bottom line is Hawk has never truly respected him. This was an incredible combination in the booth last year. I like most of this board can go without Hawk's ever increasing moaning about the calls not going our way, but outside of that I think Stoney will keep Hawk in check and add so much more insight to the broadcast. This coupled with MLB.TV's new feature offering the choice of which broadcast you want to watch is huge for us out of towners!

I am not a weatherman but it appears as if the big rain should be gone around game time: http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interac...pnav_undeclared After that it appears there will be scattered showers but let's cross our fingers and hope it misses us.

Go ahead and tell me I have little faith, but I would take a one game playoff vs. Minny at home right now to go to the playoffs. Especially the way Ozzie has been liberally using AAA players such as Horacio Ramirez, Clayton Richard and the like down the stretch. It's almost as if he forgets we're in a playoff race here...

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 08:18 PM) The same Angels we just beat last week? And Gavin was at 80 pitches and cruising, why the hell wouldnt he start the inning? It would have been a f***ing horrible move to not let him start that inning. 80 pitches or not we have no confidence in our pen to get two shutout innings? Call it a notion but I knew he was going to get hit hard that inning, and we didn't pull him quick enough once again. And yes, the same Angels we beat last week. Odds of us beating them in a 5 or 7 game series? Maybe 20% tops? Where's the half empty thread this team is pathetic I am so sick of watching this nonsense -

JohnCangelosi replied to letsgoarow's topic in 2008 Season in Review
This is easily a top ten worst managed game by Ozzie. First, Gavin shouldn't have even started the inning as he was leaving pitches up in the 7th and secondly he left him out there too long in the 8th. And then Wasserman? Are you f^&&ing kidding me? We don't deserve to win this division. And secondly if we do most likely we're 3 and out anyway as we are not even close to as good as LA, BOS or Tampa. -
So, basically, no one really knows for sure if he's eligible for post season? Read all the posts seems like everyone is guessing?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) The ump has been poor, but Hawk arguing about the low and in pitch on Tex is the low point of his season. Agreed, that was over the top. I don't understand the hate for Hawk in this forum though. I watch all the games on MLB.TV and I get to see all the announcers for all the teams and most of them are absolutely pathetic with personalities of a grapefruit...at least Hawk has some personality

QUOTE (Disco72 @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) With all the innings pitched by the bullpen last night, whom do you suggest pitches in this game? ANYONE but that bum. He is HORRIBLE. Mac, Logan you name it. He is by far the worst we got in the pen
-
This is absolutely HORRIBLE managing by Ozzie. What is the love affair with this bum? He reminds me of Juan Agosto from the 80's teams. Disgusto. This guy should only be called in for mop up work. Don't we get the fact that every game is important now and its the EIGHTH INNING??? Sheesh
-
Call me crazy but I have this strange feeling Mike MacDougal is going to be a key member of our bullpen coming down the stretch. I thought he looked great last night just throwing nasty s%&t up there. Obviously the key is him not hanging his breaking ball and finding the strike zone. If we're fortunate enough to make it to the postseason, do we have an option to put Mac on the playoff roster even though he was a September callup?
-
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 6, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) Call me crazy but if we make the playoff's I'd love to have MacDougal on the roster. I am assuming he's eligible? Anyway good outing by Mac, throwing nasty s*** up there. Nice pick by Paulie! Let's get ONE RUN gentlemen!!!

QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) very big win. our bullpen outside of jenks sucks though. Agreed. Thorton looked like garbage today as well throwing those hanging breaking balls that just scream hit me. If we cannot get this bullpen in order we'll be 3 and out if we're lucky enough to make the playoffs. Call me crazy but I holding out hope in Linebrink and who knows maybe we'll get lucky with a guy like MacDougal finding his game going down the stretch...he certainly has the stuff.
-
Well, the Twins have 3 games left on this road trip where we were supposed to gain ground and we're all even. I can't say I am surprised. We definitely have to be the underdog going down the stretch in my opinion.
