  1. Thanks to MLB.TV I missed the entire 9th inning. Can anyone tell me what happened with the Thornton/Longoria battle? Was that the final out?
  2. Guys, so lets play manager here. Who do you bring into the game in the 8th?? CR to start it? Liney? (lets hope not). (And I am assuming we don't score here)
  3. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 04:39 PM) I'm in love. Me too, but not the "Richard P" part... ;-)
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 03:30 PM) That would have made the concourse easily at the Cell. I am not so sure about "easily" but yes, on the right day, it had as good of a chance as anything. The only ball I've seen hit up there was from Joe Borchard. Has anyone else reached the concourse?
  5. I'd like to see us go out there, talk a little junk, and kick them in the dick tonight
  6. This is game 1 of a 17 game stretch that will be key in how we are looking heading into the final 7 weeks in the season. One down, 16 more to go, and if we can go 11-6 over this period I think we win this division.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) yes, as did Palmeiro which led to him being traded. I actually know a bit about this situation through a friend. Basically, Ryno is a little "soft" and his ex wife didn't respect him because of it. She could walk all over him and in the end she wasn't attracted to him, which led to her boning lots of other guys (not just Palmeiro and Martinez....can you say Mark Grace?? LOL). Moral of the story: It doesn't matter how much money you make, you still need to be a MAN in your relationship.
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 09:33 PM) THORTOWNED! How could Thornton have gotten Longoria who is right handed??? I don't understand? Don't we need to have a righty pitch him? Kidding. What a joke Ozzie is with this righty on righty BS. Nothing more over played in this game of baseball, that s*** doesn't matter. Bring in your best f***ing pitcher for the 8th and 9th and close the f***ing god damn game out, for christ f***ing sake!
  9. This whole "righty on righty" BULLs*** is so over played. Put in your best God Damn pitcher for the 8th and bring in Jenks in the 9th. f***, haven't we learned our lesson from the 5-1 lead we had going into the 8th at Wrigley? What a joke...
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 09:15 PM) Give us a good outing Linebrink. Is it going to be Liney? Hold your breath...
  11. QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 08:18 PM) Pods has 2 runs scored and been on base twice. It would have taken BA all 3 games of this series to reach base twice. LOL Yes, this is true. And I have to say, TCQ SHOULD have been chasing Pods HARD on that play, just like they teach you in Little League. A lot of people will disagree, but to me this is a really poor play by TCQ to not even be in position as well.
  12. Made me think about how long we want Beckham at 3B?? For me, he has so much more value at 2B or SS because of his ability to drive the ball. Imagine having a stud 3B AND Beckham at 2B or SS?? Hopefully this organization doesn't seen the need for him at 3B beyond this year. We need him at 2B or SS moving forward because it's a serious advantage having a guy who can handle the bat like he can at that position. To me, he is going to be a GREAT #2 hitter at 2B or SS for his White Sox career. Thoughts???
  13. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:54 PM) Personally, i read every thread and think "i'd like to have gay sex with Carlos Quentin" Maybe that's just me though. CLASSIC! However, it's like the "passion of Christ", yes? I mean, this guy is God to a lot of people on here. So, not sure where I got the idea either, although maybe I am turning into The Talented Mr. Ripley while spending time in Europe ;-)
  14. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:30 PM) what's the lineup tonight? I love this quote - "The Passion of The Carlos"........ Don't get me wrong, I love TCQ. However, unlike a lot on SoxTalk.com, I would NOT have gay sex with him. Period. Perhaps we should have a poll put up on ST asking if you would or would not? LOL (and yes, I am drunk, however, it's 1:41 AM where I am in Europe, so give me a bit of slack :-))
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) Per Joe Cowley, Colon is already in Chicago and will be starting one of the games on Friday. He also said that Ozzie said that Garcia had an impressive bullpen session. Not surprised too much on this one based on his last performance in AAA which wasn't THAT bad. Hopefully he can get it together and push Richard into the pen because I have no confidence any longer when he is on the hill at this stage.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 02:53 PM) I'm only talking about tonight though. If you're not going to play Thome, there's no reason to have Carlos running around out there in his first game back. While I understand and appreciate your concern to "baby him" in his return, if TCQ is NOT ready to "run" in his first game back, he shouldn't even be out there. This is what AAA should have been for him. If it's not, we'll be seeing plenty of BA soon enough.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 02:52 PM) If Anderson or Wise is pinch hitting, it's going to result in an out anyways. Anderson is a better defender, which is the only realy use that roster spot has anyways since you're going to see a lot of Pods moving to left and a defensive replacement moving into center to keep Q fresh later in games. Wise is marginally better as a pinch runner (which is really not important), and it's not by a big margin anyways. That's about it. AMEN MY FRIEND! :-)
  18. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 08:45 AM) GO SOX!! First game for me, will be there with my 3 kids and the wife!! This marks a long stretch of tough games for us. Really would like to see us go out there, talk some junk and kick some ass beginning today. Still no word on TCQ anywhere huh? Joke...
  19. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 01:44 AM) I get what you're saying, but COME ON, man! Every season I watch it seems to get worse. Last year seeing Justin Morneau pitched to with 2 outs and first base open with a narrow lead had me rolling. Seeing Linebrink serve up 4 runs to the Cubs was just f***ing retarded. Exactly. The Linebrink decision to pitch to Soto was arguably the WORST managerial decision I have ever seen. And you can multiply it by 10 given it was a White Sox - Cubs game. This is in a long string of decisions that make literally no sense whatsoever. Ozzie needs a bench coach who he can lean on to help him with the bone head decisions he makes. Granted, I love the fact that Ozzie takes the heat and also is "the boss" in the clubhouse. But his decision making has to be in the lower 20% among all ML managers. And BTW, Aaron Poreda should NOT be starting right now for the White Sox. The guy has no clue where the ball is going. He needs to work on his control in a BIG way. And I thought this BEFORE yesterday's outing of 2 walks in a row with the bases loaded.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2009 -> 02:33 PM) There was talk of him playing in the Orioles series but they decided not to because he was a little sore after his game last Thursday. They're doing this day to day right now, as they should. It's entirely plausible we'll see him next series; depends on how he's feeling today. Still nothing on WhiteSox.com about this. I guess we won't see him in the Rays series either....frustrating...
  21. When is a decision going to be made to say this guy is ready OR NOT??? I cannot find anything on this site even HINTING when they will even consider bringing him up and it's killing me. Please fill me in guys, are we likely to see him in the Ray's series?
  22. What exactly is his status?!?!?!?! I have been out of town and haven't been following this closely but I see no updates on this site or anything on the WhiteSox.com website.
  23. Sorry, overseas right now, no access to ESPN. Didn't realize it was in a rain delay...
  24. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) So the sox are sitting 3.5 games back at the All Star Break.....any second half predictions...it'll be good to see CQ back in the lineup though I still think we win this thing, not sure why, but I do. Maybe it's because I see us having the best bullpen and I don't think the Tigers are very good. The only issue is we do have a touch schedule in the 2nd half....this is the most concerning thing.
