  1. "Well said the Padres have a festering situation that isn’t being addressed, It started with the groupie girlfriend he passed around with Clevinger and Bauer. Then he hurts himself, doesn’t even get medical attention or obviously take off-season bp. One can only rightly assume he was hoping to pass his physical and blame the injury on spring training. This is a team leader? What else Don’t we know about this guy.?. It was my hope the Pads if they were to trade for Soto would have swapped Tatis for him and used the other trade capital to take down Castillo instead of watching Seattle get him. Even before the latest this since Westgate Park fan has been thru with him and would never want him taking a guy like Kim out of our lineup or anyone else." SDUnionTribune.com/sports Article comments section Had to throw in the "groupies" angle as well to add to the salaciousness of it all.
  2. Caminiti is quite dead. Steroids related from all indications. OOPS! Oops below! "Padres expect to cap season-ticket sales for first time in 2023 The trade that brought Juan Soto and others to the Padres sparked a Wednesday sellout at Petco Park. Surging fan interest in the Padres, accelerated by trade-deadline moves that included the addition of 23-year-old superstar Juan Soto, is expected to cause the franchise to implement the first season-ticket-sales cap in history. CEO Erik Greupner told the Union-Tribune the club already has eclipsed the sales record of 18,808 established in 2004, the season Petco Park opened. New ticket requests for the 2023 season pushed that total to more than 20,200 since news of the Soto trade broke. “The fan response has been exceptional,” Greupner said. “Right now, people are realizing, I don’t want to be on the outside looking in.” https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/padres/story/2022-08-04/padres-season-ticket-cap-juan-soto-trade-deadline-record-attendance

Overshadowed Soto/Bell homecoming to Washington. Padres just changed zip code of ballpark area to Cloud Nine, lol. New Public Enemy #1 to replace Machado

  5. Before he had even played a game stateside? Wouldn't it have made more sense to do it earlier (age 15-16) in order to increase his original paltry signing bonus? Steroids helped him grow 2 1/2 inches too?
  6. Just impressed someone can actually identify Frank and are they ones or hundreds? Need to take lessons from Floyd Mayweather if that's the case.
  7. Surely they can send that out with season ticket renewal notices... 1) Most publicity for Padres in franchise history in one week...well maybe 1984 World Series. 2) Team will rally together..."this is my team on the court/field" effect. Kim, Profar and now Grisham playing with confidence. Nobody will wait for Tatis to come back and save the franchise. 3) Tatis will have to work harder than he ever has because of the cloud of suspicion hanging over next season and even the validity of his contract. 4) Team has easiest schedule in baseball the next three weeks. Fathom asked for "spin," lol.
  8. See other thread in Diamond whatever section. Two threads concurrent.
  9. Did another team claim him first? Hard to imagine who, but they had the chance to work out a trade if they were legitimately interested.
  10. Prince Fielder's wife. That's the next box to tick off for Tatis this year. Maybe there's an ethics clause to negate his deal.
  11. He would just claim those are the three area codes where his groupies are...
  12. Emeritus. Stipend? Blame him for poor Ron's cursed Madrigal year with the Cubs too. Tainted by association.
  13. Robert battling for most time missed in early career of any player east of the Mississippi.
  14. DiegoDuder 42 minutes ago You know who's having a worse day than all of us? The kid whose parents named him after Tatis. thumb_up1reply share flag remove el-mariachi-mike 33 minutes ago reply In reply to DiegoDuder BAH I already regret the Tatis shirt I bought my son a few weeks ago. thumb_up2reply share flag remove DiegoDuder 31 minutes ago reply In reply to el-mariachi-mike I just realized Tatis fulfilled the Madden cover curse, but for MLB The Show. thumb_up1reply share flag remove diverik 28 minutes ago (Edited) reply In reply to el-mariachi-mike I bought a Jersey 2 months before the Padres played in Florida for n August . It arrived during the postseason after they had dropped so far. Never wore it. Was gonna break it out this year now it will be at least 2 years old when I first put it on.If ever. thumb_upreply share flag remove CrAzYtheDj 22 minutes ago (Edited) reply In reply to diverik This is why I will only ever buy retired players jerseys or my own custom. They can't be traded, they can't go elsewhere, and disappointment has already been processed (unless it's an O.J. or Tony LaRussa situation). thumb_up1reply share flag DiegoDuder 19 minutes ago (Edited) reply In reply to CrAzYtheDj I would hope if Tatis killed someone people wouldn't blame Preller for that too
  15. We build up these non Top 100 guys only to quickly tear them down. Davis Martin the reverse came out of nowhere.
  16. No way in hell any team would bring up Montgomery just a year after Indiana high school ball.
