Finally, the risk of not thinking outside the box and/or the lack of Pacific Rim scouts and seemingly never looking at Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese players...other than Tanaka at one point. (Pretty clearly that money, Point 2, instead was allocated towards paying younger players their ongoing extensions and then all the veterans...Hendriks, Lynn, the Grandal deal ongoing, bullpen/utility guys, Keuchel and finally Benintendi/Clevinger.)
