  1. They would be better off just leaving TLR behind and watching Top Gun Maverick in the local theatre for inspiration. Moncada and Grandal can do their own things.
  2. They will limit his pitch count before he gets anywhere close...
  3. Juan Pierre and Scotty Pods would be massive improvements.
  4. No Franco. Two leading HR hitters at 6. 23 RBIs lead. Less than half of Jose Ramirez numbers.
  5. Only three teams worse than the Sox now in RS/RA. KC Washington Pittsburgh Lovely company in the heart of the contention window.
  6. Why is Luis Robert playing Harold Ramirez on the warning track? Can't get a comfortable read in in the Dome? Even Rays' fans are going to get bored with this one. Arozarena knew that one was gone right off the bat.
  7. Well Hahn would have to hide for at least a month already eating over $50 million including Keuchel and Grandal and not yet Josh Harrison/VV. Even JR and the board of directors will notice that level of ineptitude.
  8. Grandal offering 100% max effort there. Game lol. First pitch hunting.
  9. But it absolutely does because the front office won't do White Flag trades in July and August if they're 5 or less games back of the division lead or WC. The White Sox have had 39 opportunities with bases loaded this year. 3/39 in those at-bats. No team in MLB history can continue to that horrific.
  10. With Anderson in Sox starting lineup going back to 2020... +40 Without Anderson -3
  11. Twins already have a 2-0 lead early against Blue Jays...but not sure how the Minny mystery starter can hold down that juggernaut.
  12. Rays' announcers questioning if there is any way for McClanahan to get better...although he did somewhat struggle with the Yankees. No major damage other than a Torres Homer. "Days you're really surprised when hitters make contact at all."
  13. But the Twins are starting the equivalent of Martin(i), lol. At least be the Rangers, Martin Perez has been best acquisition, Semien the worst and Seager right there squarely in the middle simply based on how much money they committed. If they only could manage that average success rate, they would be in 1st place right now.
  14. With that kind of time horizon, only ownership change and/or leaving Chicago will work.
  15. The sons don’t have nearly enough of their own money. Kushner family/Ivanka could pull it off…especially throwing in all the Middle Eastern funds raised, but that might not go over all so well. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/10/us/jared-kushner-saudi-investment-fund.html But it would be THE one sure way to upset the fanbase even moreso than now…the Ricketts Family pales in comparison. And a potential Hobson/Trump conflict would make it a no go from the beginning unless she was willing to dump all her shares and get out completely.
  16. Feels like that move is roughly 7-10 days away. Might already be too late. Could be looking at a low-key but potentially impactful trade for someone like Tyler Naquin first.
  17. "That just makes their path getting past the White Sox the next six years in the postseason a tad bit easier"...cue KW braggadocio, like when the Tigers traded for Miggy Cabrera and he was non-plussed.
  18. White Sox moving to LV, naming Bochy as manager for 2023. Langer has already done Sox spring training games.
  19. It’s so easy to find replacement level production at DH and 2B. So the theory went.
  20. Hiding in their ivory towers doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, either. Even worse, arguing with the fanbase about their decision-making process. Hahn and TLR should come out and admit they both should lose their jobs if this team doesn’t at least make the playoffs. Before getting rid of 8-10 players or starting over, at least try something…anything…different in order to light a spark and get them out of the doldrums. Half the time they seem like dinner reservations or golf tee times are more important. Like the last game of the season when non playoff teams just swing at first pitches over and over again in order to have a 90 minute game so they can get out on the road and on the way back home as quickly as possible. Nobody is having any fun. Well, maybe Eloy in general disposition and then Yoan at 2-3 a.m.
  21. Let’s just put it this way. In the middle of our contention window we’re 18th in attendance at roughly 23000 per game wheras the Cubs, other than adding Suzuki and Stroman, are pretty much in the process of dumping all their remaining players with value like Contreras to go into at least a 2-3 year if not longer rebuilding period. But they’re ranked 8th at 32,000. Better RS/RA allowed ratio, not even close as they’re almost at even and the Brewers and Cardinals are both better teams than the Twins…partially explaining why they’re at -7 games under .500 vs. the Sox at -3 and falling. And the Dodgers’ home series will be one of their last premium opponent draws for quite some time. That doesn’t come close to touching how bleak things will be if they have to do another teardown. At that point, the only glimmer of hope will be the AL Central itself being the worst division in baseball unless the Tigers can turn things around and ALSO bring back Ilitch Sr. level budgets (Baez has been a bust of Semien-level proportions almost.)
  22. 9) Joc Pederson, LF, Giants (not ranked) Joc has come up with some big hits lately, and some big home runs. On Tuesday against the Phillies, he hit a tiebreaking single in the 10th inning and an upper-deck two-run homer in the 11th to lead the Giants to victory. And he was the star of what might be the game of the year against the Mets on May 24. In the Giants' 13-12 walk-off win, Joc belted three home runs and had eight RBIs. The last homer was a game-tying three-run blast in the bottom of the eighth … and after the Mets re-took the lead in the ninth, Pederson knocked a game-tying single off Edwín Díaz with the Giants down to their last out, setting up the walk-off one batter later. https://www.mlb.com/news/fourth-mlb-hitter-power-rankings-of-2022?partnerId=zh-20220603-619935-mlb-1-B&qid=1026&utm_id=zh-20220603-619935-mlb-1-B&bt_ee=4ACxZjQ9duWakUm0nKmnFHi9wat7LQ4o6Iz2tcCUxCrzPxBajM853eYZaojNmOF3&bt_ts=1654261243644
  23. https://nypost.com/2022/06/02/jim-kaat-uses-offensive-nickname-for-yankees-nestor-cortes/ Apparently the Moncada “Forty Acres and a Mule” comment wasn’t enough… 3) José Ramírez, 3B, Guardians (not ranked) J-Ram ranked in the Top 3 of the first two Hitter Power Rankings of the season, and he's right back there again after falling out of the Top 10 last time. The Guardians slugger was just named American League Player of the Week after batting .348 with three homers, seven extra-base hits, 11 RBIs and three stolen bases last week. Ramírez leads the Majors with 52 RBIs. www.mlb.com
