  1. How many contending teams would consider Andrus an upgrade?
  2. Snooze or smooze? One thing I will say is Benetti seems like a genuinely decent human being. Stone seems like the type who might get fired for fighting at dinner with one of those know it all fan types who wants to provoke a confrontation with a media celeb to expand his followers on social media.

  8. Milwaukee looks like they have the toughest odds…it will be a pretty dramatic final week.

Twins have to try to beat nemesis Yankees, and have 6/9 White Sox games on the road. CLE seemingly has the biggest advantage if they can get to the last six consecutive at home versus the Royals, but divisional opponents with a chance to knock you out in such an unusual six game situation aren’t just going to lay down and die. Also, might not have the huge crowd support in late Sept/Oct football season.
  10. Even El Rockin capitulated for one game recently…against KC probably.

  14. Cease saw his ERA go up for the first time since May 24 -- a span of 14 starts, the longest for a starting pitcher since 2019. While leading 1-0 in the third, he gave up RBI doubles to Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker; then in the fifth, Jose Altuve hit a solo shot to lead off the inning.

For the second night in a row, White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada drove in the winning run with an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. Neither starter was around for a decision in the game. Verlander, 39, lasted seven innings, while Cease, 26, went only five. Cease gave up three runs on six hits and three walks, the first time in his past 15 outings he has given up more than one earned run.
  16. Same with Sheets recently. Or it's just the Astros jersey. Which means Leury is also due tmrw.
  17. Wonder when the last time a team beat Verlander twice in a season...? Has to be an AL West or AL Central team, dating back to his time with the Tigers. Of course, in the end, Hector Neris has the loss on his record.
  18. Good job, Kimbrel... That trade hasn't really worked out for either team all that well.
  19. 99 at that point in the game at age 39 after TJ surgery? That's Tom Brady-esque.
  20. DJ thought he balked on purpose to keep the runner at second from signaling signs to the batter.
  21. Have they ever not been? It was worse with Correa and Springer.
  22. You knew Verlander desperately wanted the win tonight for the Cy Young vote at age 39.
  23. Bullpen will have to cover 3 or 4. Shocking.
