  1. Five down at this point it's all over but the shouting.
  2. Game. Set. Match.
  3. Moncada hurt. Most nonchalant great play you can imagine.
  4. Naylor, unsurprisingly, has been the most injured player...never been in tip top shape since I have been watching him.
  5. Absolutely have to get to Karinchak. He has a pretty spotty record against the Sox.
  6. Has/had to be that unavailability issue. Otherwise makes zero sense trusting Lambert THAT much despite a mostly solid/surprising season.
  7. Kelly-itis. Biggest game of the season and not avail. At least Robert showed up to play tonight.
  8. Twins pretty much mimicking the Padres collapse last year. Probably causes a job loss for either Falvey and/or Baldelli. Plus they don't have a replacement for Correa with Royce Lewis down with another ACL. Could go to Gordon, potentially.
  9. Why not Lopez/Graveman/Hendriks?
  10. Zavala has gotten a bit better defensively compared to last year...holding onto that ball at least.
  11. Totally forgot about him. He HAS to be hurt...doesn't he?
  12. Guess they go to Karinchak here. Seems he doesn't thrive on tie game situations. But he has been tough since returning. Also de Los Santos and Trevor Stephan.
  13. It's going to be one of those 14 inning heartbreakers like the Twins/Guardians game a couple of days/nights ago.
  14. SAVED A RUN. Great play by Andrus. SAFE AT THE PLATE.
  15. Bummer is more annoying than Thornton and Damaso Marte.
  16. Couldn't quite get enough on the throw. Ramirez ALWAYS hustles. And Lambert and the Robert foul balls will possibly be the story of this game, in the end.
  17. It's going to be one those fluky infield hits, isn't it?
  18. Well, at least next year we have Diekman, Crochet AND Bummer... This bullpen all year.
  19. LaRussa would walk Ramirez here to load the bases? That just seems foolhardy, but...
  20. Feels like there's one big chance here and then the same hitters possibly against Hendriks if they can hold the lead these two innings...
  21. The most expensive bullpen in baseball and still have Lambert pitching the 7th. That bridge inning in Cease starts is always tough to cover...if he can only go 5-6 innings.
  22. Another long bullpen game likely. Robert finally showing some signs of being demonstrative out there in CF...wonder where that attitude was the entire season?
  23. Great start to this one...
  24. MERKIN'S MUSINGS The White Sox won’t say it, sticking to a day-by-day philosophy, but they need a three-game sweep of the Guardians (Tuesday-Thursday). Although with the way the AL Central has played out this season, it would be more plausible for Chicago to lose the series and still somehow be in contention during the final weekend of the regular season. I might have asked this before in the newsletter, but where do you make changes next year with the White Sox? They need to be better defensively and more balanced from the left-handed-hitting side. I’ve talked about finding different ways to score beyond the home run, but as was pointed out to me recently, they have potential speed if everyone is healthy Merkin's Musings, mlb.com
