so is Jake an unmotivated p**** also for being out with an oblique? I swear that people just don't give players slack if they aren't white.

  • 6. The Moncada Score of this thread is a 6. That's 6 posts before Yoan's name was mentioned in a sarcastic or disparaging way, or in a way that attacks his character.

Awesome. Moncada is my 5 yr old and mines favorite player but somehow racism. That was a completely classless and ignorant response.

It must be bad if he immediately ends up on the IL.

No waiting the usual 8 days.

Man Jake just can't stay healthy

He'll be out at least a month. Typical White Sox.

Typical recovery time

While some mild oblique strains can be resolved in just a few days, severe strains can require surgery with a recovery time of 3-4 months. In 2017, former Dodgers athletic trainer Stan Conte of Conte Injury Analytics teamed with the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and Major League Baseball to further examine the impact of oblique strains on injured MLB players. Using MLB's Health and Injury Tracking System (HITS), the study ultimately revealed that hitters typically take 27 days to recover from a Grade 1 strain, while pitchers typically take as many as 35 days.

Agree, oblique strains don’t heal overnight.

Would be a great time for Moncada to wake up and come back. Still don't really by the "disc" issue.

Lol that's where I'm at post-Burger injury.

At this point I'm convinced half this board has never been injured / is convinced you could just rub some dirt on a strained oblique.

Could that be perhaps because people want to see him play?

Stupid statement.

Yeah, oblique strains are usually 3-6 weeks minimum. They are nasty for a hitter.

When Jake burger tore his Achilles for the second time he was pilloried on this board for being fat and lazy and mocked his depression. So, no, this board generally hates oft  injured players.

Everything they described fits with it.

Worst SoxTalk thread of all time.

I suppose the biggest problem is the lack of communication regarding his condition. Which opens the door to speculation.

Note to Lenyn Sosa:

Hopefully this can be your wake up call and show the White Sox you actually want to play baseball at the major league level. The FO as clueless as they are sometimes, will not keep giving you unlimited chances, if you continue to show them, you can't hit major league pitching.

Sure. Mark me down as the "people want to see him play."

That said, it seems like everyone on this board either thinks he's a star-crossed warrior or a pansy who needs to suck it up. There can be no in between.

My point is that either way, every thread on this board becomes a referendum on Moncada's dedication to being a professional baseball player. It took 6 posts for this thread to devolve into that, which I'm labeling the "Moncada Score" or "Moncada Index."
