  1. That was only under Hahn and then you have to go back to the 80s.
  2. Have been pointing this out for two weeks now.
  3. All I know is every year in AZ he would usually go 4-5-6 innings, pile up a ton of innings/pitches, walks and numerous K's but he always seemed like more of a Javy V. guy with great stuff but middling results. Lots of stress and strain on the pen.
  4. Thought this was one of the better posts on last night, from SoxMachine game comments... "Banks was going to come in for the 8th until the Sox tied the game. I sit on the 3B side so I can see the bullpen very well. As soon as Moncada tied the game Kelly started warming up. Because Abreu and Roberts both grounded out on short AB’s, Kelly wasn’t warm when he came in. I’ve noticed that TLR never warms two guys at the same time. TLR didn’t plan for the possibility that the Sox would tie the game! And then had no one ready when Kelly walked Gonzalez other than Banks, who is a AAA pitcher at best. Last, why oh why did Garcia cut off Anderson on Judge’s groundball to short? Yeah, they were shifted a bit, but if TA takes the ball he is running toward first, not away from it like Garcia and gets the out. Inning over. If you signed Harrison, why don’t you play him. Garcia is a versatile substitute, not an everyday guy. I was at Monday’s meltdown and yesterday’s. This is a mediocre, undisciplined team. Roster construction is poor and on field management is worse."
  5. Torres is a notorious FB hitter. That’s one aspect of it.
  6. Well, in terms of coming against one of the most high profile and attractive teams on our schedule...we're just continuing to breathe life into the storyline that all the Al Central can do is take their automatic bid and lose right away. There hasn't been a single postseason series victory out of the Central since 2016...unless the Indians won one in 2017/18 and I blinked and missed it.
  7. https://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance It's ludicrous for a team that had World Series or bust aspirations to be where they are right now in terms of ticket sales. Weather or not, they clearly did the very worst job of any of the contending teams not named the Rays in motivating their fanbase to be excited about the upcoming season. We were essentially forced to motivate ourselves. Most importantly, foisting TLR on this team and fanbase...is basically cutting the nose off to spite one's face. It's the chickens coming home to roost. Every time Hahn or Stone have an opportunity to smooth things over, they insult us and somehow, almost inexplicably, pour more gasoline on the fire.
  8. NL West +28 (W/L differential) + 82 (RS/RA) AL East +10 +2 AL West +6 +58 NL East -7 +21 NL Central -18 -75 AL Central -19 -88 AL -28, NL +28
  9. No, the schedule is too easy for them to be that bad. If they aren't at least 5-7 games over .500 at the month, they're going to be buried at the beginning of June. Maybe if the Indians were to come in and ALSO sweep the Twins in Minneapolis after this week's Astros sweep would some creeping doubts about that begin in enter my mind.
  10. This has to rank in the all-time TLR (second Sox run) Top 3-5 for worst managing nights...anyone disagree? Kelly walks freaking 4 of 5 hitters. Doesn't bring Banks in (which it was a bit unfair to put him in that situation, Sousa's been there recently) for Rizzo. Then has someone with a 90-92 mph BP fastball face two of the best hitters in the AL.
  11. KU definitely has a lot more in common with the Yankees than the White Sox...
  12. We will never win a single playoff series with LaRussa in the dugout. That was worse than Rodon in relief in the A's playoff series. Can't bring in a 91 mph fastball guy and act like he's prime Marte or Matty Thornton.
  13. We will never win a single playoff series with LaRussa in the dugout.
  14. Once again our veteran players killing this team. Didn't want to use Banks against Rizzo.
  15. Infield defense totally killing this organization. Guess we have to leave him in because he's a former Cardinal. Torres so aggressive scoring the second run there. Last year might have been our peak.
  16. There's our $8.5 million per season high leverage reliever. Total high wire act. And so deliberate.
  17. Everyone on the infield wants to talk to Kelly...
  18. Gleyber Torres still on the bench, will probably PH for Higashioka.
  19. Loiasaga only gave up three homers all last season. Out of sorts this year. Chad Green will be in the game next.
  20. Didn't realize Burr was the all-time saves leader at Arizona State. Have had some great teams over the years, especially the Bonds Era.
  21. This White Sox team is so unpredictable/inconsistent...but the overall talent level has to wear down Minnesota and Cleveland during the summer months when hitting starts to come to the forefront.
