  1. Starters injured: Clevinger, Morejon, Paddack, Darvish, Lamet, Arrieta (well, that doesn’t matter so much) They would have been better off this season just holding onto Quantrill. On fumes right now. Gore hasn’t progressed as expected and Snell the rare example of a pitcher getting worse in the NL. Weathers got hurt as well and not the same pitcher since return, plus running into new territory with IP.
  2. I’m sure they would probably prefer Franco over Hernandez, as would 29 other teams.
  3. That’s 22 blown saves with roughly 1/4th of the season remaining…
  4. Tepera pitching the bottom of the inning or Hendriks going out after just 8 pitches with a lead//SVO…
  5. Not good for the White Sox individually, but definitely good for baseball in general. Would force the Indians to significantly up payroll, and push the Royals and Tigers (who are right on the cusp of starting to think about supplementing with free agency, although the majority of that won't take place until the 2022-23 off-season.)
  6. The adjustment for later-developing high schoolers should be approximately 1 1/2 seasons...some would argue 2 even, but 1.5 sounds about right.
  7. Can't wait for the 9th. Have to hope we score 2 more so that Hendriks can't come into the game. Of course, if we really want to go anywhere in OCT, we need both those guys to get themselves right, somehow.
  8. Sure, the 0.5ish ERA version of Kimbrel for 4 months with the Cubs...and that was AS A CLOSER. Not an 8th inning set-up guy.
  9. KNEW he was getting a fastball there. Just super fortunate it stayed inside the ballpark, somehow.
  10. D'Angelo Jimenez/Wil Cordero/Brett Myers/Royce Clayton/Cory Snyder/Steve Sax
  11. Was that 100% necessary to give up a baserunner/opportunity to hit with TA7 and runners in scoring position???
  12. April May and September weekday/night games are always going to be a challenge due to weather and the lack of sizzle surrounding the AL Central opponents. Getting to the WS would help immensely, or at least the ALCS.
  13. Why is it a shocker when we're not exactly on the cutting edge when it comes to modern technology, analytics, etc.?
  14. Did you finally get offered a moderating position for this "helpful" and especially supportive observation...?
  15. If WBWSF was GM, he could undoubtedly swing a deal for Vladdy, Jr.
  16. 2000 wasn't much better, and that had been a powerhouse offense the first half. Nightmares about Carlos Guillen. But they were never realistically in that series with their pitching on fumes.
  17. I also remember there was a crazy play the last week (maybe the next to last Sunday) where he lost a ball in the sun at KC, but I could be confusing it with the last full week of 2008 fighting it out against the Twins with Alexei. Pretty sure that was another pivotal moment, following Riske vs. Crede.
  18. A lot of fantasy owners are going to be either pissed or elated with the late Sunday swing on the offensive side. The crazy thing is not playing the outfield but homering every single game he’s come back from an injury this season. And 25/28 less games played than Ohtani (39) and Guerrero, Jr. (35) in homers but trailing by only 6 and 2 respectively…and still leading NL with roughly 1/4th of the season missed so far. Tied 3rd in majors in steals with 23. And his defense has normalized at SS all the way to slightly above average, which is better than Cronenworth there. https://www.mlb.com/video/tatis-jr-s-outstanding-game
