  1. Confident. Was getting the ball and throwing it. Not thinking too much. Not a great amount of movement on his pitches, but velocity was overwhelming. Slider was a bit flat and would be better at 85-87 than 88-89. Change-up showed potential. Grandal philosophy seemed to be frame the middle of the plate and just let him throw it to the center and see what happens. Definitely would have been a helluva better option than Drew Anderson out there.
  2. I think we managed to jinx both the White Sox and Tiger Woods at the beginning of this Game Thread. UGLY UGLY days for both.
  3. What I don't like is Bieber coming off a loss in his last start. I think he only gave up 2 runs while CLE was getting shut down, but you can't expect him to have two consecutive losses very often in a season.
  4. Now Leury hurt his foot and strained his back. Seems he's okay. Guess we can blame this one on the Bossard family, lol.
  5. Without Ohtani able to be an ace as a pitcher, just don't see them having a big enough offense. Adell would have to start carrying the team along with Trout as a rookie.
  6. 3-6 against MIN/CLE can easily be offset by KCR/DET/PITT. But they're really going to have to win at least 2 out of 6 against a suddenly revitalized Cubs' team.
  7. Hit it off the end of the bat. At least had the right idea, going up the middle or opposite direction.
  8. C'mon, need a Lu-Bomb to get the fans back in the game.
  9. Torkelson, Manning, Mize and Riley Greene are going to be pretty awesome. Royals, it remains to be seen, their young position prospects are lacking, pitching could be okay.
  10. About as strong a big league debut as you could possibly ask for. Ball on Moncada took a bad hop and came up on him, but at least ONE positive/encouraging thing came out of today. Well, two, if you count Foster continuing to impress on the bump.
  11. Grandal "defense." Lindor swim slide turned the whole game around with the gator arm to deke Mendick.
  12. BIRD-EYE. Well, Hahn, if he was throwing this well in 2016, we might have made the playoffs that year. Your grand mastermind plan could have worked, after all.
  13. But clearly Drew Anderson was the BEST option. Okay. Sure. Not a great amount of movement on his pitches, but 97-99 will work just fine if it's well located.
  14. Wish he could throw that slider a little bit softer, but has looked good so far.
  15. Other than watching LUIS Robert and Burdi, this game is completely pointless now. Thanks, Ricky Ricardo.
  16. 2016-2018 Yoan Moncada there. YIKES. Shell-shocked. Need Timmy Anderson's leadership and cockiness back out there on the field.
  17. The Indians did the exact same thing to a much better Reds' starting staff. Came into series flat, lost a game, then just ran over them like a steamroller, seems they're repeating that trend. Giolito really needs to pitch well tomorrow night or it's going to get out of hand in a hurry.
  18. OR OR OR We could have used IAN HAMILTON instead of Drew Anderson. ANYONE ELSE. But no... Heck, we could have used Lin-Manuel Miranda and gotten a better result, in tandem with Larry David.
  19. You just wonder if guys like Renteria and Cooper spend any restless nights playing over these games in their heads? At least Ozzie, the first half of his White Sox career, he had that fire/passion/desire...until his personality and ego got in the way of things. But at least he had the right instincts and intuition to manage the team effectively.
  20. Hitting with RISP should be right around 0.075 about now. That's REALLY hard to do, for even the very worst teams in baseball history.
  21. White Sox hits=5 Indians hits=5 Score, Indians 6, White Sox 0
  22. Or put in Detwiler. Either way. They were playing with fire as soon as Anderson was inserted into a tie game. And it blew up in their faces. Bigger picture, Hahn and Renteria can fall back on the injury excuse, but this was a winnable ballgame. The Indians were really scuffling offensively, Lindor has been trying to do way too much from the 3 hole and getting out of his game entirely....but you could just see him rounding 1st base and forcing the issue at 2nd, it was like he knew he had to be safe, you could even see the determination/frustration etched on his face. Superstars lead. Luckily, Cleveland can't afford to retain the services of superstars, except LeBron in the NBA.
  23. It's not something that requires MIT/Cal Tech/Carnegie Mellon levels of intelligence to figure out, is it?
