  1. You know it MIGHT be our season when guys like Detwiler, Foster and Anderson look awesome...and we're two games over .500 despite a slew of injuries.
  2. Wonder who the heck the NEXT reliever up in Schaumurg would be? Burr still around? Lail's gone, without even pitching for the Sox. Frare out of the organization? Stiever?
  3. Anderson always got rocked every single time the last two years watched him in ST. Phillies' reliever, right?
  4. Luplow's something like 0/20, Taylor a defense-first catcher and DeShields. Battle of the pitchers so far today.
  5. The remarkable thing is that they're still managing to at least tread water with sub - .100 with RISP. Imagine if they get hot again?
  6. Mendick looks really locked in. Who'd a thought that he, Leury and Adam Engel would be leading an offense, let alone at the big league level?
  7. Especially against Bieber. That said, Sunday night, ESPN, national showcase for AL ROY? I think he plays unless he strikes out another 3-4 times today.
  8. Uh-oh. The early book is emerging on Robert. Time to start making another set of adjustments.
  9. That swing's instantly becoming a quite familiar one for White Sox fans. Two out of the zone. Why throw a strike? Indians' announcers bemused by moving him down to 6.
  10. Cardinals now looking at 55 games in 49 days. That's probably going to be a good thing for the White Sox as the schedule shakes out down the line. Mazara still in Summer Camp mode.
  11. Just don't see how anyone can beat the Yankees this year in the AL, but let's just worry about making the playoffs first... Grandal aboard, hard hit ball.
  12. Now Foster can go 3...and maybe even start the 4th. More likely that Renteria would pull him for Detwiler and give Ross a clean inning to start.
  13. Give the Sox replay buy a bonus. The frozen frame, hand is off. He's OUTTA there. 2 outs. Adios, Franimal. (By the way, you should check him out on youtube singing to the crowd pre and post game in SD.)
  14. But does the left hand stay on the base when his body's in the air over the bag...need a definitive angle.
  15. Foster=Brandon Woodruff Okay, won't get carried away, but it would be pretty incredible if he converted to starter at the big league level. Grandal continues to struggle defensively, just couldn't find the ball, then couldn't pick it up cleanly. HP umpire managed to get in the way as well. CHALLENGE?? He's OUT. Over the base, in the air, when being tagged clearly.
  16. Santana is the Walk Master. Guess he's incrementally helping the 'ol fantasy team, but just waiting to replace him with Votto.
  17. White Sox pitching has shut out the Indians for 23 consecutive innings. (Kiss of death, lol.)
  18. Can we retroactively sneak an Alonso plate appearance clause into Abreu's deal? Guess players with contracts like that, would have to be pro-rated to 60/162 games?
  19. Well, in the end, it won't matter with Anderson back on Monday or Tuesday...maybe try Leury tmrw? Or Mendick?
  20. Jack, YOU MUST CHILL. You will have a heart attack at this pace. Just enjoy the game, hard to expect to win with an "opener" and all the injuries we've experienced. Try to be pleasantly surprised instead of expecting too much. Look forward to Biebs/Giolito on ESPN tmrw night.
  21. Our three young core pieces are all struggling simultaneously. Need one to get hot again. or one of the veterans to step up. Jimenez 0 for his last 11, only hit was running into that net and getting snared by the Kraken. 0/12 now.
  22. Have another good story. The first fall he turned professional, must have been 1995 when he was still only 20. Got rejected sneaking onto the riverboat for being underage at the John Deere Classic. https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1996-09-16-sp-44531-story.html
  23. Foster definitely doesn't seem to be overthinking. Just getting the ball back and firing. Indians needs to change to Lindor leading off, Hernandez, then Jose Ramirez and Santana...they're really struggling to generate offense.
  24. I saw him play the Masters in 1995 or 1996 when he was still an amateur at Stanford, one of those two years. 95, he made the cut and was 5 over. 3 72's, one bad round. It was something I will never forget, one of the most beautiful places in the world (even though I'm not an avid player, I enjoy watching.) Jason Day has always been a favorite. Justin Spieth, not so much. I guess Koepka overall has to be the main story, or Fleetwood breaking through in the US.
