  3. Ramos is currently at 202/660...nowhere near a logical promotion.
  4. Ramos is still not even a good hitter at Charlotte...Vargas/Sosa have what value at 1B???? Vargas 3B Meidroth SS Sosa 2B Elko 1B...it's plain as day.
  5. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-teams-likely-to-sell-at-2025-trade-deadline Robert Martin Booser top three trade candidates. All the vets noted as pretty much worthless. Thaiss should garner some attention.
  6. 2026 Sox marketing campaign: We still don’t 100% know what we have exactly in Elko, Sosa, Baldwin, Quero…because half the season was wasted playing vets/journeymen/AAAA guys over them. Exciting stuff to look forward to, truly.
  7. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10152951-ranking-every-mlb-ownership-situation-heading-into-2025-season Nutting 29th JR 25th
  8. 25. Jerry Reinsdorf On the whole, though, that season is an outlier for Reinsdorf's 44 years in charge. The White Sox have been a reliable loser under his watch, culminating in a record-setting 121-loss campaign just last year. Financials Purchase Price vs. Value: $20 million vs. $2.05 billion (15th in MLB) 2023 Revenues: $288 million (29th in MLB) Average Payroll Rank: 15.0 2024 Spending vs. Projected 2025 Spending: $71 million decrease Mere months after the White Sox sold to Reinsdorf for $20 million, the crosstown Cubs sold for $20.5 million. It says a lot that the Cubs are now a $4.2 billion franchise, a value twice as large as that of the White Sox. It also says a lot that Reinsdorf putting real money into his payrolls has not been the norm, as the team has opened with a top-10 payroll just once since 2012. Brittany Ghiroli of The Athletic reported in October that Reinsdorf was in "active discussions" to sell the White Sox, though there has been little in the way of updates since then. Bottom 5 of MLB Owner Rankings were Sherman, Nutting, the Monforts, Castellini (Reds) and John Fisher (A's)
  9. It doesn't take much digging to figure out who public enemy No. 1 is for Pittsburgh Pirates fans. Few fans, if any, are fans of Pirates owner Bob Nutting and Bleacher Report's rankings of the owners in Major League Baseball added a little more fuel to an already roaring inferno. Zachary Rymer ranked all of the owners in the MLB and had Nutting as the second-worst owner in baseball. Nutting was only ahead of Miami Marlins owner Bruce Sherman. "The Pirates' value and revenues are more or less in line with their market size," Rymer writes. "From these angles, at least, you can make excuses for Nutting's refusal to consistently invest in payroll. It becomes harder to do so when you notice that his net worth is measured in billions. He ought to be treating the Bucs like his pride and joy, whereas he never spends in free agency and otherwise skimps on everything. Fans are right to want him to sell." https://www.si.com/mlb/pirates/news/pittsburgh-pirates-owners-bob-nutting-named-second-worst-mlb Crazy to think that JR, the Monforts (Colorado) and the A's owner (John Fisher) are somehow not THE WORST, but here we are...maybe JR's just missing that catchy nickname??? Due to Nutting's perceived tendency to put profits ahead of a competitive product on the field, he is often ranked in both the local press and nationally as one of the worst owners in sports, earning the nickname "Bottom-Line Bob".
  10. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/were-waiting-for-juan-soto-to-be-juan-soto-again-185603521.html Highlights the match-ups with Soto and Crochet and then a write-up A year ago, we were still in the early stages of collectively comprehending the kind of pitcher Crochet appeared to be evolving into with the lowly Chicago White Sox. For as good as his numbers were, it was hard to know how much to buy into his ability to sustain considering how sparse his track record was as a starter. As a member of the losingest team in baseball history, Crochet’s starts rarely attracted much attention, a stark contrast to the role he plays now as the ace for one of the sport’s highest-profile teams. Now, there is no doubt: Crochet is one of the best pitchers on the planet, and firmly in the inner circle of the AL Cy Young conversation. His 1.98 ERA ranks fifth among qualified AL starting pitchers, and his 2.0 fWAR is tied with Hunter Brown for fourth. Only Tarik Skubal has struck out more batters than Crochet among all MLB arms. As he did with Chicago, Crochet still relies primarily on a high-90s four-seamer and low-90s cutter as his go-to weapons, but he has also incorporated a mid-90s sinker that gives him an additional avenue to leverage his elite velocity at the expense of opponents. Interestingly, Crochet’s placement near the top of the strikeout leaderboard is mostly a product of his gaudy innings total. His 28.7% strikeout rate is comfortably above league average, but it’s also notably down from the 35.1% mark Crochet registered in 2024. While Crochet may not be racking up the whiffs as frequently as he did a year ago, pitching more to contact with purpose can enable him to go deeper into starts with more efficient pitch counts. Wednesday’s 5 1/3-inning, 85-pitch outing was an abbreviated one for Crochet based on a predetermined plan by Boston to be mindful of his workload. That workload is the ultimate wild card for the large left-hander, just as it was last season under vastly different circumstances. Currently MLB’s innings leader at 68 1/3, Crochet is on pace to set a career-high in frames completed for the second straight year after throwing 146 innings in 2024. How high the Red Sox will allow that number to climb this year — while also weighing potential starts in October — will be crucial to monitor as the season progresses.
  11. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/mlb-free-agency-rankings-2025-26-is-red-soxs-alex-bregman-destined-for-big-payday-if-career-year-continues-235504997.html The options for FA hitters/outfielders and DH types are all pretty MEH. OF=Bellinger, Mullins, Trent Grisham, Austin Hays, Mike Yastrzemski, Laureano and Harrison Bader...that's IT. 1B/DH The aging Paul Goldschmidt, really. Pete Alonso is obviously out of the price range. Same with Schwarber, Marcel Ozuna and Josh Naylor. Relief pitchers...Helsley, Weaver, Devin Williams, R. Iglesias, Yates, Romano, Finnegan, K.Jansen 12. Munetaka Murakami, Yakult Swallows 3B, age 26 (9) The highly-touted Japanese slugger has been sidelined with a vague upper body injury since our most recent free-agent update and sinks on the list as a result. In the 2023 WBC, a 23-year-old Murakami hit fifth for champion Japan, slotted right behind Shohei Ohtani and Masataka Yoshida. He and the Swallows have had this upcoming winter circled for some time as the moment Murakami would make the MLB leap. But if his jump-year continues to be so thoroughly derailed by injuries, there’s a chance the NPB’s all-time single season domestic home run leader stays in Japan for one more year.
  12. Simply need to trade Thaiss and let either Teel or Quero play the rest of the time...
  13. There goes their #1 power source per at bat.

  15. Seems the 2024 White Sox are going to be in the news (again) due to the woeful 2025 Rockies https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/45274389/rockies-fall-8-42-being-swept-four-games-phillies Rockies' Road? After getting off to baseball's worst 50-game start since 1895, the Rockies are in danger of joining some ignominious company by season's end. The White Sox finished the 2024 season with a 39-121 mark (wow, ESPN made yet another mistake with the White Sox, giving them 2 less victories), passing the 1962 Mets for the second-most losses all time and the most in the modern era. The 1899 Cleveland Spiders hold the MLB record with 134 losses. Year Team Losses 1899 Cleveland Spiders 134 2024 White Sox 121 1962 Mets 120 2003 Tigers 119 1916 Philadelphia Athletics 117
  16. He's playing well but the Padres are reverting to mean this week...Cease M.King Suarez Arraez are going to be traded if they fall down to the .500 mark. That said, Sheets would clearly be the best hitter on the White Sox this season. Would be leading team in both homers and RBIs. That's also what happens when you have much less pressure to produce AND feel comfortable in your environment.
  17. See COL Rockies and CLE Browns ownership/admin over the years. Jacksonville Jaguars come to mind as well.
  18. More Rule 5's and UDFA's here we come.
  19. If Teel can be the hitter he looks like tonight...that with seriously help with Quero striggling. Yet there are rumors they will hold Teel Schultz and H.Smith in the minors until at least late April/early May next year.
  20. At least they have committed significant long term money to Reynolds and Hayes.

  22. Might as well send him to Arizona/ACL League with Iriarte and Hagen while they're at it. 3 weeks ago he was around a 660ish OPS and it seemed like things were finally going in the right direction...then, poof, it all just disappeared, like a mirage of his former self.
