  1. Sure...but he was at least a natural outfielder to begin with.
  2. Uh-oh....Eisert as opener, okay. As high leverage reliever, maybe not so much.
  3. He seems to have lost confidence at the plate, becoming over-reliant on bunting...or fake bunting. His playing time has suffered in recent weeks, so he's probably pressing and then they keep moving him all over the field, so he's not comfortable ANYWHERE defensively. In all likelihood, he might be better off playing everyday in Charlotte at this point. That said, the White Sox seem to be projecting him as "merely" a utility player with positional flexibility, limited power and good speed who MIGHT be the last or next to last player on a good/playoff-caliber MLB team.
  4. If they could switch places TODAY, is there anyone on this board that would RATHER have Chris Getz than Mike Elias of the Orioles??? The White Sox are DEFINITELY more competitive this season, but a lot of that can be chalked up to historic bad luck last season as well as a historically bad manager that NOBODY liked. I mean...he's better than whoever's running the show in Colorado, I guess, and maybe in Miami, but it's really hard to judge anything this early with either the Marlins OR the White Sox. The proof will obviously be in 2026-27-28.
  5. Competitive Balance B Round (#68): Blake Larson, LHP, IMG Academy Class: TCU Commit Pick Value: $1.2M Maybe that pick back from the Mariners is cursed, lol...as nearly everyone involved in that trade on both sides has disappointed in some way. And I'm sure Workman is happy to go back to one of the top 5 teams in baseball, rather than the 2nd worst. The funny thing is that he might get more opportunities to play there than with the White Sox.
  6. If Colson can get his batting average back up to .200 and then at least .240, we can start talking about him at least having a chance at the big league level.
  7. White Sox: Edgar Quero, C (No. 5/MLB No. 58) Good move: The Angels signed Quero for $200,000 in 2021 after he left Cuba. Bad move: They sent him to the White Sox as part of the Lucas Giolito/Reynaldo López trade two years later. Quero is now one of the best catching prospects in baseball, a switch-hitter with a mature approach and growing power. He has been Chicago's best hitter (.303/.403/.348) since getting his first big league callup in mid-April and also has held his own defensively. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/davis-martin/21448/stats?position=P Martin on pace for a 1.6 fWAR season currently.
  8. Should be 3-4 to 0. Just can't let a pitcher like Lodolo off two innings in a row and get away with it...eventually he'll find his rhythm. If Baldwin's going to be more confident in his bunting...just go down and play everyday in CHLT. And at least we're going to know one way or the other about Elko, even though it's an 85-90% likelihood he's more a AAAA/filler player.
  9. https://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/story/2025-05-14/dodgers-roki-sasaki-shoulder-injury-pitching-staff They're also acknowledging Sasaki has shoulder impingement issues...joining Snell and Glasnow on the shelf. FB way down, control has been a total mess. Dodgers actually might have to rely on Kershaw and eventually Ohtani returns.

  11. Twins 23-20 Orioles 15-26 -70 rs/ra White Sox 13-29 -31 Who wouldn't take Mike Elias as GM to balance the hitting with the young pitching, though? Even guys like Kyle Stowers and Ortiz last year in MIL have been quite useful pieces.
  12. Guys like Grebeck Merullo and McKay Christiansen would be studs today offensively. Heck 1984-1989 White Sox offenses look scintillating in comparison. At least you had Calderon Baines and Ozzie was occasionally entertaining, albeit frustrating as a hitter.
  13. Michael Flatley/Riverdance fame, apparently going through cancer treatments
  14. On Monday, a WNBA fan shared on Reddit an email from the LA Sparks, stating the team is refunding all "season tickets so they can sell them for more money." "With interest in the WNBA growing at an accelerated pace, we are constantly analyzing and evaluating our business strategies and opportunities to enhance the fan experience," the email from Sparks senior vice president Jerry Murphy read. "To that end, we have determined that we need to make some adjustments, which will directly impact your account." Murphy continued by writing that the refunds will be coming in roughly three weeks. "We are working with our AXS ticketing partner to refund the full amount of your payment(s), directly to your original payment method. Refunds are typically processed within approximately 21 business days, depending on the credit card that was used for the purchase. All LA Sparks tickets are revocable licenses." yahoo.com/sports
  15. https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/article/is-jayson-tatums-achilles-injury-the-cost-of-the-modern-game-and-increasing-physicality-190613862.html Towns leads a growing trend of stretch 5s which demands a defender to follow the big man for a much larger surface area on the floor. Whether it’s Nikola Jokić in Denver, Chet Holmgren in OKC or Myles Turner in Indiana, having a stretch 5 is the norm for title contenders now. Hell, Draymond Green is averaging more 3-point attempts in this series (5.8) than Reggie Miller did in his postseason career (5.7). Notably, the rise of the 3-point shot across the league has run parallel with the increase in player injuries, but there’s also a third variable: player movement. According to recent research from Sportico’s Lev Akabas, NBA players are covering about 9% more distance per minute on court than they did a decade ago. Akabas wrote in his post: “It’s no surprise that the more miles a player puts on his body, the more likely he is to get injured.”
  16. Scorched two balls yesterday that both turned into outs...as long as he hits the ball more frequently things will even out.
  17. "Let’s be clear: MLB’s willingness to accommodate Trump on Rose is about more than typical political pandering. The commissioner's office is surely worried about the administration’s sway over (1) the league’s antitrust exemption and (2) the hundreds of work visas granted to Venezuelan and Cuban ballplayers each year. There are no indications that a direct quid pro quo has taken place, but Trump’s tendency toward aggressive and, at times, punitive immigration policy has likely contributed to MLB’s hyper-careful approach to the current president." https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/pete-rose-reinstated-by-mlb-eligible-for-the-hall-of-fame-how-we-got-here-and-what-it-means-015535778.html Dan Wetzel espn "Still, there are owners and commissioners in the Hall who worked for decades to stop baseball from racial integration. That's a far more widespread impact on the integrity of the game than betting on your team to beat the Dodgers. Yes, sports wagering is always a concern and was once a major taboo. But public opinion and business realities changed. There are sportsbooks inside MLB stadiums these days, including, for a stretch, with Rose's old team in Cincinnati. History is history. The game is the game. The museum is the museum. Tell the story, the whole story, with all the best players and best teams and best tales, no matter how colorful, criminal or regrettable. America can handle it. Our real national pastime is scandal, after all." https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/42931802/wander-franco-trial-reset-june-2-key-witnesses-missing
  18. Chase Burns vs. Birmingham isn't going to be very pretty for the Barons.
  19. No no and no...you play him at the position where he has the most value. And Meidroth still needs to show more than a 600ish ops.
  20. https://www.fangraphs.com/depthcharts.aspx?position=Team Still have a long climb up. Only team with negative bullpen ratings. Only three teams in the teens...Rockies Sox and Marlins.
  21. Break on Through to the Other Side, White Sox.
  22. Just no way this team improves by 29 full games with less talent on the roster than last year. 45-55 wins, sure. They would need to start beating the AL Central much more frequently as well.
  23. I guess that was calculated assuming the loss after tie score lol
  24. Smith 4.8 fWAR pace Thaiss 3.2 Vargas and Cannon 2.0
  25. Rockies 27-135 pace exactly 7-35 1 win per week, basically
