He’s no Jake Cutler.

He’s too stylish and non chalant defensively at times, although it’s not about passion for playing the game. Part of it is he tends to sulk more noticeably than most of our players when he’s struggling (but his teammates are doing well or actually winning a game.)

Whatever he’s doing, it seems to be working for Winston Salem. Somebody needs to come in there who will immediately demand respect and those guys all watched play while growing up. Who else is better suited to help the defense? Rusty Kuntz? Tom Emanski? Heck, I’ll take the Oregon State Head Coach and their catcher and take my chances. That was a truly resilient squad.

They need to try Vizquel with Anderson and Moncada...maybe he can help Palk Smash play 1b as well. Try something different, at least. Hell, try Jirschele...have the youngest manager in baseball history. Or Dave Martinez after he’s fired. Anything.
