5/21 Games
Jon Adkins and his 98 MPH heat and Giolito/Fulmer-esque ERA in AAA... At least Felix Diaz pitched one decent game against the Cubs!

Super Fun White Sox Happy Time Game Thread III vs Orioles
Playing for a tie when you're 13-30, have just won 3/4 (after not winning two games in a row for AGES) and playing one of the 3-4 worst teams in MLB is just asinine. Shows zero confidence in your hitters to get the job done. In front of a home crowd who just witnessed the 2nd/3rd no outs debacle and a player getting pulled for apathy/indifference. (And yeah, Fathom's point about pulling Thompson for Palka there defensively was dead-on as well...it wasn't a tie game or 1-2 run lead)

Something's gotta give with the managing...if you can't get your players to hustle (unless they're injured or coming back from injuries like Moncada), then they need to try someone else. The one thing you should be able to guarantee in professional sports is playing the game to best of your ability at all times. Lose because of talent, not effort.

2018 MLB Draft
Everyone has to read through those same lists of names for player comps in draft threads that are wildly inaccurate as well. So who would you compare him to? How about I just come up with a cliche like Nuke LaLoosh..."every player has his own unique traits and characteristics, we shouldn't try to compare one with another but allow everyone to find their own path in the game..."

2018 MLB Draft
Is it more interesting to write we should have a "versatile multi-positional player" who can handle all the infield and outfield positions, fields "above average to Gold Glove level" and runs well? Okay. Exciting stuff. Of course, we've already had four players like that in recent years...so they need to hit for a 850 OPS as well.

As it stands already, the YES Network struggles to come up with additional content for one of the most storied franchises in sports. Sure, you've got Santo, Harry Carry, the Billy Goat, Billy Williams, Fergie Jenkins, Lee Smith, Maddux and Sandberg...but that's nothing compared to what the Yankees can work with. I also think that "winning fatigue" (see ATL Braves) will slowly set in as well.

2018 Democrats thread
That deserves a like, lol. Only my second vote. The first was for Dick Allen's joke to Lillian about Adam Engel being better suited for a batboy career.

$10 million more probably isn't even enough...because the Cubs are still getting so much more attention in the Chicago, and NYC, Boston and LA are better markets for top athletes in terms of marketing. Let's say it's $350 million....how much more would he be able to generate in sponsorship deals/marketing opportunities with the Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, Giants, etc.? The White Sox would need to be $25-50 million higher, at a minimum. About the only argument against the Cubs is that Bryant is already established as "the franchise" over there, but it just depends on how important it is for him to be on an "instantly contending" team.
