Might have to add a 3 starter, too. No rhythm or tempo, everything's going wrong. Zero confidence right now.

Have to get to Ventura early. 24 ER's in 36 IP, 6 ERA over the first three innings of each start. And Frazier/Eaton continue their slumps.

.162 his last 18 games for Eaton. He's really fallen off. First in the AL in infield hits, at least. 95 and 98 for Ventura there...usually he doesn't throw that hard until later in the game. 96 and 97 to Abreu.

The base hits he gave up were at 91 and 94 MPH. Eventually, he'll learn he can't pitch more effectively in the lower 90's. 9 runs surrendered in 11 first innings now.

.341 opposing line-ups the first time through the order 1-9 hitting against Rodon. The craziest one, .464 hitting against his first pitch...mostly fastballs at lower velocities.

Online records show he was a registered Democrat. Law enforcement officials told ABC News that Mateen had been “on the radar” of U.S. authorities for a while, but that he was not the target of an investigation.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 11:35 AM) Apparently this guy called 911 before doing this and pledged allegiance to ISIS Source? Wouldn't he be more likely to pledge allegiance to the Taliban? ISIS doesn't specifically target gay "westerners" that I know of as a concerted strategy...at least not in Paris.

Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don't want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart! Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 28m Here's the problem, this isn't about radical Islamic terrorism, it's a hate crime. But the two will certainly be confused.

Avila needs to stop letting so many good pitches go by...be a BIT more aggressive, like in his glory days of 2011-12 when he was an All-Star caliber catcher.

Plus Trump will be able to blame US policy towards Afghanistan under Obama...unsurprisingly overlooking all the great work of the Bush administration since 9/11, hunt for Osama bin Laden, Karzai, etc.

The need for blood after a shooting at a gay nightclub resurfaced complaints on social media about limits on gay men’s ability to donate blood. In December, the Food and Drug Administration lifted a lifetime ban for gay men, but continued to prohibit men from donating if they had had sex with men in the past year. Follow Mo: Space Chicken @Moreh_SC To the gay men who can't donate blood for our fallen brothers, just being there for each other is helping. Poor Coats...in some ways, it feels like he's not going to get much of a chance to prove himself. 15-20 at-bats, the way things are going.

It's also apparently gay pride month... So this was more an anti-gay attack, although the motivation probably has to tie in with the Sharia law/religious aspects as well. Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 3h3 hours ago Really bad shooting in Orlando. Police investigating possible terrorism. Many people dead and wounded. That's what he has up right now...posted 2-3 hours ago.

I'm pretty sure, from a little internet detective work, that PULSE in Orlando is a gay nightclub (like the one Dave Wilder used to run in Phoenix). Customers seem to be mostly African-American. That's going to throw a whole different slant on this thing. Every political side will use it for their own purposes, obviously. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/...-club/85785762/ One of the owners of the gay nightclub where multiple people were shot early Sunday in Orlando started the club to promote awareness about the area's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Her brother died from AIDS. Barbara Poma opened Pulse on Orange Avenue in Orlando with her friend and co-founder Ron Legler in 2004. It hosts nightly themed performances as well as a monthly program of LGBT-related educational events. Pulse refers to itself as "not just another gay club." Saturday night was Latin night.

Imagine what would happen if Frazier went out of our line-up? We'd have Carlos Sanchez or Saladino there. The Royals are actually getting better defense from Cuthbert than Moustakas, and he's at least holding his own offensively for a rookie. Out of Shuck, Garcia and Coats, which two will we get stuck with today? Btw, hope Avila at least gets another start to see if he can get a hot streak going offensively.

This would be a time for all Americans to be forced to read the non-fiction novel ZEITOUN or at least watch EYE IN THE SKY. There's always a cost to innocent/s who are caught up in the flames of unchecked hatred/racism.

1) Ban on all Muslims from outside the US from receiving business/tourist/student visas. 2) All Muslim-Americans sent back to their country of origin. 3) Trump brings the apocryphal post 9/11 movie THE SIEGE with Denzel Washington and Bruce Willis to reality. 4) Trump fans the anti-immigrant flames and turns America isolationist...withdraws all US troops from abroad. As much as it seems to be ridiculous, you can bet all these scenarios will play out in the coming months...especially with San Bernardino, Paris, Charlie Hebdo

http://www.royalsreview.com/2016/6/10/1189...all-immediately Yordano Ventura has the LEAST effective fastball in the major leagues this season. Forward to Todd Steverson, por favor. Last time against him they did just fine, until one out in the 9th inning. Worth noting that the two most "infamous" bunts of this White Sox season have been when Jose Quintana was on the mound (the other was against the Mets). So at least we don't have to worry about that contributing negatively today.

50? That's a huge jump from 20. Wonder how they could be so far off...? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/speci...t-us-shootings/ That would be the biggest mass shooting in American history, by 18. Blacksburg/VA Tech was 32. Paris was 128. I think the largest before that was the Madrid train bombing.

http://heavy.com/news/2016/06/omar-mateen-...tive-terrorism/ Mateen, 29, is a U.S. citizen of Afghani descent from Port St. Lucie, Florida, according to CBS News. He has ties to radical Islamic ideology, CBS reports. Port St. Lucie is about 125 miles away from Orlando. Trump campaign is going to have something to distract the media again this week...Florida going through two incidents in one week, the other one the shooting of Christina Grimmie by a stranger.

There's another way of reading it. Melky has struggled for quite some time against LHP...remember last year, where he went for something like 6 weeks without a hit in those situations? He probably didn't feel 100% comfortable against Duffy. http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/splits/_/id/6347/melky-cabrera The problem is that this year he's been really raking against LHP...well over a 900 OPS. Frazier and Lawrie, on the other hand, have been struggling mightily in recent weeks. Is it really unselfish to put two players who are clearly just having a hard time making contact on the hook for getting the runners in when you're the 3 hole hitter??? http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_...7/melky-cabrera Against Duffy, just 4/22 with 2 doubles, a homer and a low 600's OPS At any rate, I'm not 100% sure we can call this unselfish...in the way we would if Austin Jackson/Saladino/Anderson/Rollins did the same thing to advance the runners for the big boppers coming up behind them. Of course, you also have to consider Duffy has the lowest ERA of any opposing pitcher in the history of USCF, and that scoring an early run or two to give Q the lead there would have been huge. And he also was probably concerned about hitting into a DP. The problem is if you're really thinking this way, you probably don't deserve to be the 3rd hitter in the line-up, because most guys in that situation would feel it's their responsibility to drive a double into the gap.

QUOTE (Lillian @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 03:53 AM) The Sox are near the bottom of the League, in almost every offensive category. It's hard to argue with those who assert that there are just too many holes to fill. However, the front office is obviously determined to try. You have to admire Quintana's ability to just go out and do his job, in spite of the unbelievably poor offensive support that he has received, over the last 3 seasons. When you consider how underpaid he is, at least by MLB standards, he could justifiably have plenty to complain about. Sometimes I almost wish that the front office would fix this pathetic offense, just for him. He certainly deserves much better. There hasn't been much clamor, or speculation, regarding a new hitting coach. What has Steverson done for this group? There needs to be some accountability somewhere. We all love to complain about Ventura, but what the hell is he supposed to do with the offensive production, with which he has had to work? Is there anyone, any where, who might help these hapless hitters? "Where have you gone" Walt Hriniak? I just learned that he is still alive, and just turned 73. Maybe they should give him a call. Seriously, is there anyone who could help? Start hitting more to the opposite field, move around in the batter's box, choke up, swing at more first pitch strikes. Do something different, because whatever they are all doing, is not working. It's getting really hard to watch this team. When you consider that the North Siders have the best record in baseball, it's remarkable that the Sox have any fans left, at all. Well, I feel much better, now that I got that "off my chest". 14:$0.85M, 15:$1M, 16:$3.8M, 17:$6M, 18:$8.35M, 19:$10.5M club option ($1M buyout), 20:$10.5M club option ($1M buyout) if eligible for arbitration as a Super 2 after 2014 (met 11/14), salaries increase to $3.4M in 2015, $5.4M in 2016, $7M in 2017, $8.85M in 2018 2020 option increases to $14M with Cy Young award in 2014-19 or $13M with second- or third-place finish in Cy Young vote in 2014-19 Realistically, Eaton/Sale/Q are all woefully underpaid, considering production. But, for someone growing up in Colombia (and not a narcotraficante), that's an unprecedented amount of money. He doesn't seem like the type to blow it, either. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=m...itting/2016/ALL The simple answer is he has been a 627 OPS hitter over his entire MLB career. And he's 34-35 now. Sure, it's POSSIBLE he has discovered something, but those numbers were mostly put up in his "prime years" athletically, and now he's much closer in terms of wear and tear on his body to Jimmy Rollins. For whatever it's worth, they seemingly feel that Shuck or Coats can give them more. You can definitely argue it. Leury Garcia as well, although we're much more familiar with his inability to hit. That's why Charlotte statistics can be so misleading.
