  1. I think I might walk Lawrie to get to Avi if it actually comes to that.
  2. If 8-23 and 4-15 in the AL Central doesn't get you fired...absolutely nothing will. 9 1/2 games surrendered to KC, 10 1/2 to CLE/DET. Watch Abreu hit a bomb here...lol.
  3. White Sox opponents the last week or so giving up tons of outs on the basepaths...but Sox unable to take advantage, at least so far.
  4. But where would Iglesias play, lol?
  5. The White Sox fighting back in this game...will probably lead to Ventura keeping his job for at least one more game. The end is nigh, though. And putting Danish into that situation was just idiotic. Playing Garcia in the outfield is equally dumb.
  6. Almost ALWAYS on the wrong side of absolutely critical late inning umpires' discretion review calls to NYC. Hey, at least Aviles hasn't been his typical Sox killer self tonight. He's played for all 3 of our ALCD competitors...every team but the Twins. Which means Ryan Raburn will be back SOMEHOW in the 2nd half to haunt Sox fans.
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 09:17 PM) In 56 plate appearances nice try. Matt Albers is hitting 1.000. Albers couldn't be worse than JB Suck and Avifail. Could he?
  8. Anderson now 3/14 on the season.
  9. Why did Ventura get tossed? Still second-guessing himself for putting Tyler Danish into Dante's 7th circle of Hell?
  10. Josh Phegley's hitting .308, fwiw.
  11. Just can't quite seem to get that FINAL big hit to get over the top and take the lead. Hard hit ball, but right back at the pitcher.
  12. There's just no situation any MLB manager would use Tyler Danish in a 7-6 game (when you'd rallied from 7 runs down, ALMOST)...against three of the Tigers' five best hitters (Kinsler/V.Martinez the other two).
  13. And now he puts in Dan Jennings after the damage is already done. So logical. Luckily, Castellanos was out at 2nd or things would have blown up even worse than they did.
  14. Add Danish to the list with Coats/Shuck/Avi/Sands. He SHOULDN'T be in the major leagues yet...same with Anderson.
  15. Tyler Danish? Is Ventura insane? He's staking his managerial career on Tyler? Really?
  16. Tease offense or we actually come back?
  17. Shields over Latos/Linecum Anderson up before he was ready Bungling the Shark move last July and then being stubborn to give up the pick when we desperately needed to replace AVI Deciding Jason Coats could hold his own at the big league level Allowing the team to reach a state where AAAA guys like Shuck and Sands were hitting 5th in a real MLB line-up DESPERATE TIMES don't call for desperate measures unless you're fighting for your professional life...
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) Yeah Hawk would be worse. But then he would be overly excited again when AJ, Thome or Rowand was named manager. At least for a week or two. I'd take Carl Everett at this point, or Big Frank as interim until the end of the season.
  19. Who was that big 1B that everyone was clamoring for who was leading AAA in homers and get totally exposed with the Sox? Can't remember his name anymore, blocking it out deliberately.
  20. Why would any team claim him on waivers when the White Sox are stuck with him? All they have to do is let the 10 day claim period pass and then low ball the Sox with an offer...leaving an uncomfortable decision of bringing him back to the Sox or letting him go, as both would have negative consequences.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:28 PM) But he didn't want them to give up the draft pick Rick Hahn would never give up that draft pick because it would have made him look like more of a jack--- for the way the Samardzija deal worked out for the White Sox. And it would have only deferred that draft pick for another yet anyway, unless they change things with the CBA in the middle of this year, which will be difficult to do in the middle of June/July trading season. Remember Ray Durham for Jon Adkins? We were supposedly trading Ray because there was this idea he wouldn't get any compensation so better to get SOMETHING than nothing (Adkins' ERA was something like 7 in AAA at the time of that brilliant deal.)
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) Ian Desmomd, Ian Desmond...you wanted to sign him in June. Now, with hindsight signing him was the obvious move you wanted them to make all along. But it wasn't. $10 million for Latos, $8 million for Parra and sign Desmomd in June. That is Caulfield without hindsight. No so good. Although I did appreciate how when Duke stunk up the joint a week or so ago,you claimed you were against that move from the beginning. I will get in trouble if I show your actual post in the Duke signing thread, but let's just say, your memory is a bit off. That was the market in early January. Obviously, CONDITIONS CAN AND DO CHANGE. Just like James Shields wasn't available for a 50% discount 10 days ago...until Hahn thought the cost-benefit analysis/ROI was too good to pass on. Don't you think Rick Hahn would send James Shields back to SD and negate the trade as of this moment if he could? From an offensive standpoint, Parra has been absolutely fine. Depending on how much we trust the defensive metrics, a lot of his value has been negated.
  23. #GapeKaplerforGNCCEO Actually, it wouldn't be the worst choice. ANYONE with an outsider's perspective. He's on a lot of Top 5-10 lists for replacing current managers, at least he was going into last offseason.
  24. Did the White Sox-certified physicians give him a thorough physical exam before they agreed to the deal? MRI's? I can't believe they wouldn't have, not after the 10 run game against the Mariners.
  25. Not to mention how much money have we already wasted on Rollins, Latos and Danks this year? Desmond would have cost $6 million net because we would have saved money from the draft pool...which won't be contributing until, at best, 2019-2021, when Hahn/KW/Ventura are long gone. One thing they should do immediately is let Coats play every day, DFA JB Suck and send Avifail Garcia down to AAA to await a trade, because he's never going to be a good player for the White Sox (maybe Japan w/ Viciedo).
