  1. JJ Bleday should be at top of wish list if they're still going to keep playing Benintendi and Tauchman with ZERO futures with the next Sox playoff team. Out of position in CF, though. Move one of those two vets to more DH at bats if Tauchman actually returns. At least on the right side of 30... "He's decent as a depth option. 120 OPS+ despite being played essentially out of position in CF in 2024. Seems like an average defender in the corners. Last year fell to an 92 OPS+ with a drop from .279 to .251 in BABIP. Strikeouts up 7% but still a manageable 26.5%, and came with an increase of 3.1% to 4.1% in home run rate. Not a great season overall but there's positives to see. Also weirdly put up reverse splits at .870 OPS vs lefties and .650 vs righties, not sure what to make of that. Statcast doesn't like him much at all. Point is he's a solid Minor League deal, being just one season removed from a 2.1 WAR season playing out of position." A's Reddit
  2. "The Crochet trade turned this organization around..." Ummm...yes, if we're the quasi Titanic, except much more low profile.
  3. Except he never had a position he could cpmpetently play defense. A lot like Lenyn Sosa in that aspect.
  4. How many times did we hear that second name repeated last year around here? At least 100-150....
  5. Sure why not? Guess he's getting more expensive, but a curious move.
  6. When's the last time TB traded a future All Star? Jake Cronenworth? Don't think he ever made it. Maybe once. A lot more have turned out like Jeff Keppinger.
  7. Bring him back!!! Hopefully chair throwing days are behind him now. Getz will be the last call he takes. Or Minnesota, due to even worse weather and team's uncertain financial future.
  8. Schiffren on it? Can we just trade him to a Slam Ball team for an announcer to be named later?
  9. Braden always had the most upside, although lower ranked than Teel due to college injury and no MiLB at bats.
  10. But that just guarantees the one year. Must have seen clear hints of a dearth of long term offers for those Tier 1B guys not in the Top 10-15 or so. Or they really felt comfortable with their teams, like Woodruff in MIL. Imanaga betting on himself bouncing back and getting a longer term deal eventually. Maybe wanted to stay with Sexy and will attempt to recruit the three big name NPB guys coming over...Imai in particular.
  11. Barry and Berry coming next for old time's sake. As well as Tres Garcias. Or was it cuatro?
  12. Phones are reportedly already ringing off the hook at the Sox ticket offices. Get 'em while they're hot! Surely this will turn out exactly like the 2004 offseason when the Sox made a series of under the radar moves that were widely panned as they moved Magglio Lee and Valentin.
  13. Much cheaper than Fairbanks lol? Tanner Murray sounds like either a pro golfer or NFL PK/punter.
  14. If at first you don't succeed with a Red Sox lefty...try try again. Ofc we traded them lefties Sale Crochet and RHP Y.Fajardo. Fajardo was identified by multiple scouts as the best pitcher on the Red Sox FCL team in 2025.
  15. Now confusion will reign with two Murphy's pitching for the Sox...and two Shane's as well. Both Murphy's are LHPers to boot.
  16. "As I thought of what to write for today, our fearless leader Andrew Mearns suggested I do a deep dive on someone who I believe to be the most divisive prospect in the Yankees’ farm system: Everson Pereira. Pereira signed in 2017 as an international amateur out of Venezuela for $1.5 million and was lauded at the time for his plus athleticism, sensational bat speed which translated to in-game power, and defensive ability in center field. Unfortunately, we’ve been robbed of opportunities to scout Pereira over a full season, as he’s never played more than 110 games in a season. There have been some freak injuries mixed in with more typical, muscular ailments – especially of late. While injuries have undoubtedly robbed Pereira of vital reps, he’s now accrued just under 1,500 plate appearances in his minor-league career." https://www.pinstripealley.com/2024/5/3/24147815/yankees-analysis-everson-pereira-prospect-top-hit-tool-scouting-whiff-power-athleticism-maddening This was written BEFORE the 2024 season btw. Pereira has slowed slightly as he has added muscle but still possesses solid speed and makes the most of it. He can steal an occasional base and covers ground in center field with his quickness and instincts. If he has to move to a corner, he has the power and solid arm strength to profile well in right field. AI profile
  17. Maybe someone should call the Sox ticket office and inquire if anyone purchased a season ticket plan for 2026 based on their belief in an Okamoto signing this off season... Always follow the money.
  18. Probably because he’s expected to be the first $100+ million NPB position player…along with Murakami.
  19. Pirates are all over this FA market AND considering giving offers to an array of hitters from Schwarber to Okamoto. “And yet the Pirates were primed to spend more than twice that on Josh Naylor before he re-upped with Seattle for five years and $92.5 million in the first signing of the winter on Sunday night -- and they're considering other possibilities to supplement Paul Skenes and a rotation that was among the five best in MLB in the second half. The most exciting: The Pirates are strongly considering giving 19-year-old Konnor Griffin, the consensus minor league player of the year in 2025, the opportunity to win their big league shortstop job, sources told ESPN. While the idea is by no means decided, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Griffin wowed scouts by hitting .333/.415/.527 with 21 home runs and 65 stolen bases in his first professional season after going to Pittsburgh with the No. 9 pick in the 2024 draft. The internal models for multiple teams have off-the-charts projections for Griffin, who has also dabbled in center field.” https://global.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/46999006/mlb-2025-26-offseason-passan-predictions-free-agency-kyle-tucker-schwarber-alex-bregman Now even the Pirates and A’s are (or will soon be) burying the Sox in spending. Well, at least there’s the Rockies Rays and Twins still…I guess.
  20. Imai Murakami and Okamoto are all well out of their price range. We might get another bargain basement deal out of the KBO, but not if it requires a two year contract. One year with team or mutual options for 2027. Fluffy pieces about possible interest in a free agent who will receive at the very least a three year deal are not worth anyone's time either....not unless they actually get a signed contract as we learned with 2 ESPN headlines about Machado being close to signing.
