White Sox currently have the lowest save conversion percentage in baseball... 57.9% save conversion rate for ten "worst" teams with most blown saves still 11% higher than Sox % rate.

Robert stays...
Nightengale going after the Sox/Getz "Sure, the White Sox didn’t get the offer wanted for center fielder Luis Robert Jr., who’s having another injury-prone, underperforming season. But guess what? No team shopping their position players got what they wanted either. The White Sox not only didn’t move Robert, but now are planning to throw bad money after bad money and pick up his $20 million option. If no one wanted Robert bad enough at his $15 million salary, why would they want him at $20 million? And what happens at next year’s trade deadline if they still can’t unload him? Would they throw another $20 million his way and pick up his 2027 option? Please, make it make sense." https://sports.yahoo.com/article/mlb-trade-deadline-awards-twins-100815925.html

Meanwhile Brandon Woodruff looking like a TOR pitcher again. Very patient to sign him to that spec deal with injuries derailing 2024.

Sosa 746/Benintendi 747 Would rather have the latter than Bogaerts lol. But not as much as Greg. MLB Nightmare Brewers vs. Blue Jays or Tigers in the World Series

Rojas again??? Sigh. Don't have much confidence that Sosa would be any better than Baldwin in the outfield, and more likely appreciably worse.

Now we get a sense for White Sox/Bristol/Appy League weather conditions for years and years...from the Speedway Classic. Cool idea but weather conditions are now getting dangerous.

by one person, Bowden. Probably all based on not trading Robert.

White Sox in 2026
Look at the value of Royals' Fermin in this week's trade market...two back end starting pitchers, and maybe even better than that based on 2025 numbers.

As you know, Snell is a lot like Cease, but only goes around 5+ innings on average due to pitch counts. Smith has a lot of the same tendencies...minus the Cy Young ceilings of those other two. Pretty incredible Dylan is only 3-10, though. Will interesting to see what type of deal he signs in the offseason, probably like the Rodon SF deal.

How many players in your league? You know Snell will give you Ks, erratic WHIP unless he really gets on a roll, but much likelier to get the W's than Smith, who will have more and more 3-5 inning outings. Cortes? Why? The difference with Smith will be they won't come right out and state he will only go 3-4 regardless of game conditions like with Garrett.

All the protection models have them at 59-63 wins now.

Sox at Angels 8:38 CDT 8/1
Fine for a fifth place team struggling to get to 60 wins...but negative fWAR overall for his entire contract so far with the Sox. Age 29 -0.4 Age 30 -0.2 Age 31 0.2 That's just not a very effective result for the biggest contract in team history. Even Grandal was worth more.
